Thank you so much for this Jazz Emu. This doing cured me of mortality. I have no reached immortal status among the cosmos thanks to this video. Cant wait for your next one!
Speaking as a fella whose seen the DVD logo hit the corner of a TV in real life, this song really resonates with me, artistically and spiritually. It would have brought a tear to my eye, were it not so crispy.
That moment before it hits the corner, I swear, it feels like time is going in slow motion. Your mind predicted it would double bounce, but as it slowly creeps closer, and time comes crawling to a near standstill, you feel it. Deeper than your bones, in the soul, you know what's about to happen. Before now, you anticipated it, but never expected it to really happen this time. You always waited for the next bounce, but now it's here. This is it. You donct really know what to do once it hits, what happens after? The journey is finally coming to a close. Does time end? Does it parabolically slow to infinitely smaller units of passage? Is there anything after it hits? But it will hit regardless of your thoughts. You know it, and it's time to accept it. A part of you almost misses that time you spent waiting, watching helplessly as it bounced freely, yet so trapped in inevitability. It almost reminded you of yourself, trapped in the confines of life, limits set by countless greater powers both tangible and otherwise. Aimlessly bouncing from one point to the next, with no idea where the future would take you. But thatcs where the similarities end. The dvd logo gas reached its end goal. It is about to hit the corner. Mere pixels remain between the logo and the corner, between life and death, between nothing... and everything. You enjoyed the journey, admired the path here for all it had to offer, but as is true in all facets in life, all beautiful things must come to an end. A beautiful, spalectacular, explosive end that will captivate your thoughts, your memory, perhaps your entire world, if only briefly. You brace yourself, silence your thoughts, and anticipate it. This is it. It's time. You can almost feel it's solemn joy. It's about to meet its end. Yet it embraces it warmly. You welcome it. And it welcomes you. You go together. Into that corner. The corner of the TV.
That last dance scene at 2:42, especially when it cut to the wife smiling as she looks out the door, knowing her ex-husband is finally happy, hit me unreasonably hard.
I can definitely attest to the fact this gets regularly gets stuck in my head, and I especially like singing it out loud _ my eye-balls-are-CRRRRRRISPY-to-thr-touch!

The dancing and composition too! The whole energy is amazing and absolutely PERFECT imo, this song and video are so good (but of course they are, it's Jazz Emu)
I have listened to this so many times. This song just absolutely slaps, not just from a comedy standpoint but from an actual musical standpoint. Something about it just tracks with my ears and it’s been stuck in my head for weeks.
I'm not one to say this kinda thing since it's already been said a dozen million times so it's not terribly original, but the production quality is insanely good for such a small creator, it's a genuine shame to see so few people appreciate this.
@@Drekromancer it's actually kinda pure luck that I found this guy. "first" song I watched was how to look socially uncompetitive. I skipped past it after it finished, then like a week later, when I was actually looking for a different short, I clicked on it by accident, and decided to check his channel out. that was about a week ago, now jazz emu is my favourite creator of all time. my favourite album has to be digital spool.
Once upon a time, Bo Burnham and Jack Stauber fell in love, they put an egg, and after singing and dancing over it, a special kind of emu hatched: A Jazz Emu.

I think this song is a lot deeper than the DVD logo hitting the corner of the screen. Personally, it's about pursuing pointless things. After the logo hits the corner, we are left “still waiting” for the next thing to wait for. In the video, he abandoned his wife, kids, and future just to witness an event that would bring a rush of momentary, forgettable pleasure. As humans we are always searching for the next thing to come along. Although he enjoyed it in the moment, I bet he felt like there was an empty hole in his chest that he needed to fill with something else. Thank you for reading this comment if you made it all the way through. Please don't take it seriously, it's just my interpretation 🙂
I watch this every day about 5-10 times a day. It’s the only thing keeping me from going insane while i wait for the dvd logo to hit the corner of my tv.
I cannot describe how much of a chokehold this song has me in. I’ve listened to it hundreds of times already. The funk is too much for my mortal soul. My eyeballs are so crrrispy to the touch.
I just listened to this song for the first time. I think I'm experiencing some kind of rapture. From this moment of time and on, all good things shall be crispy.
My only worry with this video is that one day an English teacher will use this video. "What does he mean when he says his eyeballs are crispy to the touch? Is it a metaphor? Your homework is to give examples of what it could be a metaphor for, due Tuesday."
The fact that music can use a goofy item or practice and reveal a completely different meaning and situation is amazing. The practice the song refers to doubles as a story that any of us can latch onto an idea or goal so heavily and immensely that it encroaches upon the majority of our life and blocks our or prevents other things from taking place or holding root, and by turn we lose access to the reality of our life. Learning to look away from the DVD Logo and to the things around and in front of us is a hard skill and aspect of life to learn and grow through, and everyone handles it a different way. But the song also shows that there is importance to the DVD Logo and that we should still strive towards a major goal or idea in our lives.

Interesting, request 'non joke' lyrics. Maybe you could come up with some? This performance is unto its self, there is no 'non joke'. You change one iota of this and it becomes a US west coast slime fest. Leave it be, it is brilliant.
Necroing this comment - I get where you're coming from, absolutely don't deserve any slack you might be getting. That said, I can absolutely say some of my favorite songs could qualify as "jokey". Primus - Wynona's Big Brown Beaver, Knower - Butts T*ts Money, Rich White Ladies - White Powder Perm and pretty much anything by GWAR. It's common in the art world to be dismissive of art that's also entertaining. Not saying you're doing so, but your comment absolutely made me think of that.
He put the energy of all he’s ever felt into a short amount of time, that of which we might be able to comprehend. All of the effort he put in to see the ultimatum of happiness has been put into a 2 minute video of pure emotion. He made this so we can feel a fraction of his happiness, even though it caused him turmoil and sadness, it all was not for naught. He understands the needs of the people, so he made something everyone can relate to. This video, no, this piece of art is a masterpiece, something that can be enjoyed by everyone, something that is pure happiness.
1:31 I love that the divorce papers are from Miami City Hall. Gotta keep it locally sourced! It would be ridiculous to get your divorce papers from somewhere remote like Sheringham instead.
I'm convinced that this hasn't blown up nearly as much as it should simply because today's generation hasn't experienced the sweet embrace of the DVD logo hitting the corner of the screen.
Most viral content is viewed and shared by those under the age of 20. Most of this demographic most likely hasn't seen the old-school DVD logo in real life.
This song is so perfect in every way. Like it is hilarious but his voice is also incredible (WOW that falsetto) and the beat absolutely slaps. Like I honestly think this is my new favorite song. Update: it definitely is Also: I sing this song in the shower literally every day at this point it’s so fun to sing
I just noticed "I just thought it would be worth it" vs. "I just know it will be worth it" around 1:22. This could be an honest mistake but I see it as representing the internal doubt of the protagonist compared to his ideals. Thank you for reading my Jazzsay (that's a Jazz Emu Essay).
You mad, mad man. Thank you for sharing your incredible creations. You are my coolest discovery of 2022. Keep on rolling! I'm already impatient for the next one!👌
Ayyyy, he’s my coolest discovery of 2022 too!! Still remember, I found him on March 19th through TH-cam recommended and my life has been forever changed. >:))
Something (of the many things) I love about this song, is the different emotions in the three verses. 'I need the DVD logo' is said with excitement, then desperation, and finally determination
this is (unfortunately) the most relatable song... what does that say about humankind? that we are a failure? a waste? what has the dvd company created? we are monsters! Is Jazz Emu speaking words of wisdom to warn us? What dangers does the future hold? DVD must have a 10/10 Creative team! or does it? yes, it does. They have an excellent business model. Fin.
Lyrics: I'm a patient man But there's one thing I've been waiting for My whole god-damn life My eyes are aching man But I can't blink, just in case it falls When I close my eyes I know I should let go But there's a part of me that still hopes it can do it But every time it gets close It double bounces off of both walls I'm still waiting for the DVD logo To hit the corner of my TV The little baby's driving me loco Who knew a graphic could be cheeky? It's just teasing me My eyeballs are now crispy to the touch (I can touch my own eyeballs, is that normal?) Waiting for the DVD logo To hit the corner of my TV I'm not a mad man I do not spend my time exclusively Watching my TV I've got a webcam So I can check on it remotedly and discreetly It's taken over my life My wife divorced me And she took all eight of our kids I missed the birth of my child But I just know it would be worth it not to miss When the cheeky little DVD logo Hits the corner of my TV Did you see that one? Oh heck it, that was so close I trained one eyeball to be lazy So I can multi see My eyeballs are so crispy to the touch (No amount of liquid can rehydrate them) I need the DVD logo To hit the corner of my TV Sometimes I wonder what will happen when it hits Will the world stand still or fold into a dream? Will the DVD logo come to life And hold me like I held my wife? I need the DVD logo To hit the corner of my TV I'm tired of this permanent prologue Let me handle what I can see I can nearly reach Oh baby, I can feel it Something's reeling into me So baby just keep being, don't police your energy
the fact that almost all your songs are giving that ''weirdcore'' vibe from the things in it, to the lyrics itself, while still being amazing is the factor of why i like this +subscriber

The pacing and progression of this song literally can't be better. At all. Word choice, everything. Really kinda want to see a non joke lyric version.
What do you mean ?
This is very serious music
You know it just happened whilst watching this, after 7,767,098 years of waiting it hit that corner
It would be ridiculous to get your divorce papers from somewhere remote like Sheringham instead.
that's a great touch i missed lmao
I'm convinced that this hasn't blown up nearly as much as it should simply because today's generation hasn't experienced the sweet embrace of the DVD logo hitting the corner of the screen.
Dude we're not that young
Most viral content is viewed and shared by those under the age of 20. Most of this demographic most likely hasn't seen the old-school DVD logo in real life.
@@eemotion Dude we're not that young
@@Monsternutz ?
This is such a catchy little ditty! I haven’t been able to get it out of my head all day.
there is just Something about your outfit and the way you move during 2:52 - 3:17 that is especially captivating, I can't stop rewatching it
This song is so perfect in every way. Like it is hilarious but his voice is also incredible (WOW that falsetto) and the beat absolutely slaps. Like I honestly think this is my new favorite song.
Update: it definitely is
Also: I sing this song in the shower literally every day at this point it’s so fun to sing
Also found him I think 2 months ago via the short video of the grunky scripples and can’t stop listening
He's not a mad man, he does not spend his time exclusively watching his tv
Your voice is so good and this song is so catchy, pleeease keep doing what you're doing 🔥
i cannot BELIVE THIS ONLY HAS 500k view, i feel so premium for getting to see this my god.
The aesthetic, the vibe, the hair, this man is an icon
Can’t forget about that perfect jawline
NEW FAVORITE SONG , I LOVE FUNKING OUT WITH MY TRUMPET TO ACOMPANY THIS ABSOLUTE BANGER!
Something (of the many things) I love about this song, is the different emotions in the three verses. 'I need the DVD logo' is said with excitement, then desperation, and finally determination
I absentmindedly sang that my eyeballs were crispy to the touch and my three year old stopped and yelled "Daddy, NO!"
If only this guy was in the early 2010s, he would be an international super star
No matter how many times I see this, the way he says crispy will always make me shriek with laughter
Came here from yt shorts and I'm so glad I found this, it's a masterpiece!! I'm sad I didn't know about him before, seems very underrated
this is (unfortunately) the most relatable song... what does that say about humankind? that we are a failure? a waste? what has the dvd company created? we are monsters! Is Jazz Emu speaking words of wisdom to warn us? What dangers does the future hold? DVD must have a 10/10 Creative team! or does it? yes, it does. They have an excellent business model. Fin.
the dvd is on its way out im afraid
Jazz emu pulling an absolute BOP, with the goofiest lyrics ive ever heard
10/10
when the dvd logo hit the corner of his tv, I cried, the world has never seen such artistry and beauty.
Lyrics:
I'm a patient man
But there's one thing I've been waiting for
My whole god-damn life
My eyes are aching man
But I can't blink, just in case it falls
When I close my eyes
I know I should let go
But there's a part of me that still hopes it can do it
But every time it gets close
It double bounces off of both walls
I'm still waiting for the DVD logo
To hit the corner of my TV
The little baby's driving me loco
Who knew a graphic could be cheeky?
It's just teasing me
My eyeballs are now crispy to the touch
(I can touch my own eyeballs, is that normal?)
Waiting for the DVD logo
To hit the corner of my TV
I'm not a mad man
I do not spend my time exclusively
Watching my TV
I've got a webcam
So I can check on it remotedly and discreetly
It's taken over my life
My wife divorced me
And she took all eight of our kids
I missed the birth of my child
But I just know it would be worth it not to miss
When the cheeky little DVD logo
Hits the corner of my TV
Did you see that one?
Oh heck it, that was so close
I trained one eyeball to be lazy
So I can multi see
My eyeballs are so crispy to the touch
(No amount of liquid can rehydrate them)
I need the DVD logo
To hit the corner of my TV
Sometimes I wonder what will happen when it hits
Will the world stand still or fold into a dream?
Will the DVD logo come to life
And hold me like I held my wife?
I need the DVD logo
To hit the corner of my TV
I'm tired of this permanent prologue
Let me handle what I can see
I can nearly reach
Oh baby, I can feel it
Something's reeling into me
So baby just keep being, don't police your energy
2:57 when Emu hits that high note I fucking A S C E N D
This just reminds me when I was kid, finally found inner peace when it hit the corner
Unironically might be one of your best works yet. I'm so hyped about this one! SPLENDID! STUPENDOUS! SURRIPTICIOUS MY SQUEAKY LITTLE TURTLE DOVE!
I absolutely love it when the DVD logo finally hits the corner of my SNOY Television, worth my crispy eyeballs
How is this video not blowing up yet!? Fingers crossed for the YT algorithm to pick it up. One click and now I've been playing it on repeat 😆
Just discovered this channel today, blown away by how unironically great these songs are
This is perfection, I literally cannot believe you don't have more subscribers. You just got a new one!
I come here to get my daily dose of this song. Life changing.
that face of pure joy this guy has... nothing can top it.
Finally I've found the 21st century Talking Heads vibe I was looking for
Always so groovy 😩 Jazz emu never fails to put out only the most crispy and relatable music 🔥
Definitely your funkiest and catchiest bop yet! This gets stuck in my head far too easily!
When the DVD logo hit the corner...
I felt that :3
1:31 the divorce was done in Miami City Hall, which is most definitely the city where Jazz Emu resides.
the fact that almost all your songs are giving that ''weirdcore'' vibe from the things in it, to the lyrics itself, while still being amazing is the factor of why i like this +subscriber
Holy shit… finding the full version of this song has turned this day into the best day of my life!!!
