nice video, thank you !! I have the cheapest XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro with a display and it is a great drawing tablet. I mostly work in Illustrator (99%). illustrator and drawing tablets make a great duo for a number of illustration styles . I like that vector images can be blown up to any size. But if you want textures and different line/brush strokes, photoshop or Clip Studio Paint is also good.

Cory Kerr, I just got a Ugee M708 Graphics Tablet. I'm still setting it up and quickly seeing there's going to be quite a steep learning curve. 2018 will be a creative year for me!

For the people that Use Monoprice TWA60 graphic tablet and have pressure grayed out no matter what you do. www.uc-logic.com/downloads/ Use the drivers from UC-Logic "the same pad that monoprices uses", it will give u the latest driver and should fix your Pressure options from being grayed out. Tested with Illustrator cc 2018
Thinking of getting a pen for my laptop which is touch screen. you showed at the beginning how to adjust the shape and size of the brush while drawing, would this also work with the Refine edges brush? When I am trying to remove an object from the background and need to refine it the brush has very limited options, its circular and I can change it a bit but not much. Would it work better with this? When you make changes to brushes, you’ll need to save them as new brush presets if you want them to stick around. It sort of keeps them around in a short brush history thing, but not in a way that you’re talking about
I have a problem with the surface pro 7. The penpressure does not work most of the time. Sometimes the penpressure activates when I use the touchBrush. It's ennoying. Can someone give me a good advise?

The best option is a Wacom cintiq. You can also use an iPad hooked up with astropad (still in beta)... then from there you’ve got a lot of knock offs of the cintiq. I haven’t used them, but look for good reviews
my graphics tablet works with every drawing program exept photoshop. When i go into photoshop and hover over the tablet and it picks it up but when i start drawing it doesnt do anything. Any help?
I don't know that I have any specific help, but you could try updating the drivers. Depending on what type of tablet it is, there might be a forum somewhere where someone has posted a workaround...
When I try to erase any line that I draw in Illustrator it not only erases the part I wish to erase but also all of the pressure data for that entire line and so I end up with 2 really fat lines. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it? I can't find a solution anywhere online...
I wouldn’t use illustrator for digital watercolors. The mixer brushes in photoshop or Adobe fresco would be great for that. Check out Kyle Webster’s channel for some of that
I kind of see the same struggle you have with tapping/hitting those anker-points as I do. (@ 19:05) Do you have any advise other than "practise"? I feel like handling the ankers are very frustrating, resulting in dragging the whole shape instead of just one point. Wish there was something to keep the object from dragging when i miss-tapp or drag-tap..
There might be a good way to do it, but I haven't found it yet and it is super frustrating. I've gotten to the point where I am very fast at switching back and forth between a mouse and tablet pen. In fact, I usually just hold my pen in my mouth while I'm selecting something with the mouse and then jump immediately back to the pen. Not an elegant solution, but I've gotten very fast at it.

A lot of it depends on what type of animation you are doing, but technically you don’t “need” a tablet. You will need a drawing tablet and stylus if you’re going to draw on the computer instead of using a mouse, but I know lots of people that don’t use a tablet in their animations.
If you are producing daily animations I would recommend using Adobe character animator because it automates a lot of the lip-synch and it tracks your head and facial movements. Animation is not easy or fast, so anything that makes it easier or quicker comes at a price. @@samchamas7035 there’s a lot of typos in that reply, so I’m not sure I follow what you’re saying... but Adobe animate is used to make full on cartoons, so I’m sure it’ll be able to do what you want without having to animate every frame

Răzvan Afloarei depends on the drivers. I had one and it worked with illustrator until adobe updated and the company didn’t update the drivers for the tablet. Name brands are always s safe bet, though more expensive. The off brand save you a lot of money, but there are trade offs (like drivers and less pressure sensitivity)

I have an Ugee 1910b on it's way :) I used to use flash for animating back in like 2005 (scanning hand drawn sketches), so I wanted to jump into Adobe Animate. But your video about After Effects got me interested, might give that I try. So tnx for that!
Ronny Mai I tried animate cc and hated it, but I have zero background in flash. From what I understand, if you know flash, you'll love animate cc. Major animation houses use it.

Michal Gabriel I’m not sure, I’ve never done it on the PC. I’ve got an old cintiq hooked up to my pc. When I used it on the Mac years ago, you downloaded an app on your iPad and plugged it into the usb. Then the iPad became an external monitor for the Mac.

@@anji3117 touch mode is probably talking about using your finger. This video is about using drawing tablets like Wacom. The version of Photoshop I use of the most recent version of creative cloud.
Eswar Cool because of the differences in raster and vector, brushes in the two programs work differently, but you can download and install brushes in both programs. Photoshop brushes will not work in illustrator and visa versa. But there are brushes you can download specifically for illustrator

Sorry, I missed this comment. I have a very old Cintiq 21 that I bought used on ebay. I recently was sponsored by Wacom and use a Cintiq 22 in my home studio. I use an 13 inch ipad pro with an apple pencil from work (which you can use with a mac in "sidecar"). I made this video on an Ugee, but I don't recommend that brand because they've shown themselves to not be great at keeping up to date with the drivers and support. Short answer: wacom and apple are what I use on both my Macs and PCs.

Almost everything. I find working with anchor points in illustrator or some more detailed things in after effects are easier with a mouse

This is a "drawing tablet" which is like a Wacom Cintiq. It's a computer monitor that can detect the stylus I'm using.

You will need a pressure pen just like the one on the video.

Is there any way I can connect an ipad to my windows PC and use photoshop on my pc thought that ipad with pen ?
Michal Gabriel MAC to iPad is easy. Pc to iPad is a little tricky. I’ve heard that duet display could work. I know there’s another company working on a solution that’s promising to release soon, but I haven’t heard from them in a bit

Michal Gabriel I’m not sure, I’ve never done it on the PC. I’ve got an old cintiq hooked up to my pc. When I used it on the Mac years ago, you downloaded an app on your iPad and plugged it into the usb. Then the iPad became an external monitor for the Mac.

@@Yona-Ek TBH, I haven’t tried either. I’m still rockin’ an old Cintiq I picked up off of eBay. I’d go with whatever had more pressure sensitivity and tilt control

Mblgh _id dang, I haven’t played with those. I’ve heard of people installing different drivers and getting stuff to work, but I couldn’t point you to a specific driver. There’s probably s forum somewhere with people who have figured it out. Sorry I can’t help more 😬

Creative cloud version. All versions of photoshop come with the ability to customize brushes

@@anji3117 touch mode is probably talking about using your finger. This video is about using drawing tablets like Wacom. The version of Photoshop I use of the most recent version of creative cloud.

Sir in illustrator we don't have download brushes like Photoshop
Eswar Cool because of the differences in raster and vector, brushes in the two programs work differently, but you can download and install brushes in both programs. Photoshop brushes will not work in illustrator and visa versa. But there are brushes you can download specifically for illustrator

G Vsr lately I’ve been doing a lot on my iPad Pro. I’ve got an old Wacom cintiq that I love. I used to recommend the ugee, but the driver support is terrible
my tablet wont seem to work in photoshop or ilistrator wont even move but works everywhere else
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers or searching for that problem with the specific type of tablet in the search?

Sorry, I missed this comment. I have a very old Cintiq 21 that I bought used on ebay. I recently was sponsored by Wacom and use a Cintiq 22 in my home studio. I use an 13 inch ipad pro with an apple pencil from work (which you can use with a mac in "sidecar"). I made this video on an Ugee, but I don't recommend that brand because they've shown themselves to not be great at keeping up to date with the drivers and support. Short answer: wacom and apple are what I use on both my Macs and PCs.
