I'm coming to ya straight from the home of the blues right now! Inverness, MS. Most people around here are so ignorant when it comes to the blues. I volunteer at the BB King Museum and play old Skip James, Lightnin' Hopkins, Tommy Johnson, etc for the school groups that come through. Black people had such a struggle here, and out of that struggle came what I believe is the truest expression of the human spirit. I'm talkin' bout the blues, people!!! JSBX knows!
Okay, but I have to say few more things. Jack is teaching my generation what good music is and where all the good music comes from. He noticed almost all of his influences, but nobody sounds like him. Have you heard - I don't know - The Stripes song called Ball & Biscuit? It's one of the most original blues songs that I've ever heard. I'm not saying that he is the best musician ever, but he is very unfluential in this age.
