Saw Sam Kinison for 2 drinks Labor day 83' in La Jolla, dog beach every Sunday with the early fog and met Orville Redenbacher at the at the Coronado post office. Good times in the 80's.
PB, La Jolla, Solana Beach.....my old stompin' grounds. I miss the beaches & killer Mexican food. But my fav Mexican food was in Old Town. Edit : Now that I'm old, what I really miss is the Climate. Best in the Country. LedHed Pb 207.20 🎶 🎸 🎹
oh my gosh, at 13:24 I see my old workplace that I worked at in 1986/early 87 as a teenager when that video was taken. That Shell Station was on Grande & Mission Blvd, across the street was a Jack-In-The-Box, which is hard to see as it is set back a bit, it is now the Taco-Bell. At that Shell Station I bought my very first car for $600 cash- a 1976 Orange Ford Pinto, and I got my first Police-lights in my rear-view-mirror and my first ticket that very night when I drove it out of the parking lot without a drivers license or insurance, or even knowing how to drive. I had driven a go-cart before so I felt ready. It's amazing to see that image from that time period, It was a magical time in life. I ran-away from home on the east coast and landed in PB in 1985 at 17 and made it my home. To be living on your own as a teen in PB was a dream come true. I wrote my name in fresh cement on Mission Blvd in 1986 near Garnet and it's still there. The Spice Rack at that timestamp is where the Starbucks/Ralphs complex now is. I live in LA now but come down to PB every year, its like coming home. PB is in my soul
COME ON MAN enjoyed my stay from 70 to 74 but would not move their if i was paid to move , california as a whole is a cesspool these days hoping for the san andreas to make ocean view lots in nevada and arizona come on big one
Shame on you man for wishing harm and loss to such a beautiful place and the people who still love it! You had your fun so no reason to throw such shade on those just discovering it.

I graduated from an Ivy League and came out to San Diego in 1989. I was working at UCSD School of Medicine lab in La Jolla when two San Diego Police Homicide detectives came into lab and in front of my co-workers asked me if I was the "Clairemont Unaliver". (even though I was 165lb and just 36% African American. I have had three OTHER blatantly racist incidents in La Jolla and I don't even spend much time there, the last one occurring in 2015. Good news I met my first girlfriend in Imperial Beach my very first day in California. She was from Berlin.
California crime rate is also currently lower than South Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, Alaska, Utah, Arizona, North Carolina, Kansas, and Alabama.
The more things stay the same? Certainly applies to the Racist of San Diego county, who convicted me ,a Innocent man, I n 1980/81. Convicted of Resisting Arrest with no reason for Arrest.
Excellent San Diego Beaches News 8 throwback special!!

I feel blessed to have been able to grow up in Ocean Beach in the 70s and 80s. Just not the same. OB is OK!
You were. I grew up in and am still out in the IE.
My brother lived in O.B in the early 90's.The peace and tranquility are gone. You can't walk the beach with out tripping over a tent

Why are kids in masks in this clip? It’s a disgrace and future generations will look at us and think we’re crazy!

La Jolla, for the rich. The poor can not even work there, the commute cost too much gas and time
Ahh, back when Socal was the envy of every state in America. Now it's just a woke, crime ridden cesspool.
Delusions.
Texas crime rate is currently 4900 and California is lower at 4700 per capita.
California crime rate is also currently lower than South Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, Alaska, Utah, Arizona, North Carolina, Kansas, and Alabama.
You're completely irrational. Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.
