If kakeru hadn’t died in the first timeline, she’d have chosen him then too. Hiroto is a good guy, but it’s sad to think that in situations like this some would consider him to always be second to Kakeru in Naho’s eyes. I know in the first timeline they are doing well and properly love each other now because they are adults and have matured, but the fact that they found a way to create a new timeline for it to happen differently in the first place speaks volumes about how badly they wanted Kakeru to live. Of course they had different reasons for it, but if I was in Hiroto’s shoes, the idea that the love of my life wants another timeline with someone else would sting.
hiroto also knew she wasn't that happy with him in past timeline that's why he asked her to not include their marriage in her letter, he takes advantage of her emotional stage to confront her and he regretted it later that's why he helped for her and kakeru to get together.

He was already asking for permission from Hiroto and at another point Hiroto had to encourage him from afar, that scene when they were in class. Kakeru would have 100% been happy for them. If he lived in that timeline, that is.

Oddly, this sounds like AnoHana in many ways, instead of letters from future selves, it's the ghost of their friend that had an accident and died that came back to one of their friends. Similar themes of blaming oneself for another's passing, the loss of friends/friendship and regrets.

This seems like a very good anime, but there's something that bugs me about some of the narrative themes. It's beautiful how his friends loved and missed kakeru so much they intentionally made an altered timeline where he lives and is happy with Naho... but there's some part of me that is kinda grossed out by the narrative tool of basically holding the characters *_emotionally hostage_* over someone's unaliving in the future because they "weren't close enough friends." I just... I hate that a lot. I feel like if anyone has dealt with people who were emotionally abusive, you'd know what I mean? I know I'm projecting a bit, and Kakeru isn't supposed to be a toxic character, but a 17 year old going through a LOT of shit and having friends by his side to help him through that is a beautiful thing I bet a lot of people wish they had (the whole show is about correcting regret), BUT ALSO, Hiroto intentionally refusing to confess his feelings is sort of unfair to Naho because he's making the choice _for her,_ and he said in his blackhole letter that he emotionally manipulated Naho, which... I call bullshit, he was saying that so his past-self could feel better about not shooting his shot and letting Kakeru have her instead because he's 'sad boy'. idk. This is just making me feel a lot of ways, and I'm not here for it, lol. not taking anything away from this piece of are, art is GREAT when it makes you feel something, even complex things, but yeah.

Like I understand why Kakaru did the things he did but I also felt like the emotional burden fell completely on his friends because he never asked for help and when they would ask him he would lie. Which seemed super toxic and had they not gotten letters explaining everything. His behavior would of had the whole group walking on egg shells around him. Because he would just blow up at seemingly small things without ever explaining himself. Literally, how are these teenagers supposed to help you heal from your trauma if you’re just a brick wall? Idk the whole story had me rooting for them but just feeling iffy about his character the whole time.

This results in time travelling to the past "not happening"; because if it does happen, your current self will cease to exist because you yourself is a part of the timeline... And that connection makes travelling back equals to deleting your current self... If not: how can your memory of the past even exist when the events that happened haven't existed yet? Don't try to change my mind using equations proposed by scientists... Because I also know just how many theory, scientific conclusions & equations that seemed just right for years... Even tens of years... Just to be at the end of the day ended up being a false conclusion after a real-time observable experiment was carried out. My thought is that the best you can do is to go to another world parallel to yours with the exact same universal arrangement & events. At the end of the day, you didn't travel to the past... In my view, both the future and the past are the same timeline and not alternate ones bcz they received letters from future meaning they are connected. I mean how would they receive a different letter from an alternate timeline just think about it for a second since they burried it in the past. so it has to be the same timeline. so if hiroto doesnt get married to her, that baby will disappear right in front of them in the future and the feelings they had will still be there, that guy will be alive but the couple will lose the baby bcz the future did happen in turn it will create an alternate timeline where hiroto's wife and that guy married but in the current future he will lose the baby.
Do I believe in parallel universes? No. I believe that each action could potentially result in an alternate timeline to what we experience, however, I do not believe that other timelines exist. There are an infinite amount of possibilities in this reality, so if alternate timelines could exist, there would be an infinite number. That could put a huge strain on the fabric of reality. I just don’t think that the universe as it is could handle that stress. Even a collapsing star is enough to tear a hole in space. But then again, I know nothing for sure on this topic, so whatever.
I don't believe in parallel timelines, per se. However, I do think it's possible that not every being is constrained to linear time (time always moves forward, 60 seconds per minute) in the way we are now. To us, it may look like these unconstrained beings do "impossible" things, like appearing in multiple places simultaneously, or observing a past event without altering it. Multiple parallel dimensions do seem likely, so in that sense beings could travel between dimensions and that kind of travel might share some similarities with our concepts of time travel. Imagine having portals as a means of travel; is space travel the same thing as space-time travel, since we know space and time are related? Obviously, we're not that advanced in our understanding yet, but who knows what the future holds?

Lol what, did you even watch the story, nobody gave up on anything, they are still dealing with the consequences, that's the whole point of paralel worlds, their world won't change. Realistically they just tossed letters in the ocean which is a way of processing grief, it holds no guarantees to them that it would ever time travel and change anything for anyone.

Future Hiroto is a selfish ashole. He can "give up" on his past self romance because he already has his beloved girl as wife, so he didn't really give up anything.
In my view, both the future and the past are the same timeline and not alternate ones bcz they received letters from future meaning they are connected. I mean how would they receive a different letter from an alternate timeline just think about it for a second since they burried it in the past. so it has to be the same timeline. so if hiroto doesnt get married to her, that baby will disappear right in front of them in the future and the feelings they had will still be there, that guy will be alive but the couple will lose the baby bcz the future did happen in turn it will create an alternate timeline where hiroto's wife and that guy married but in the current future he will lose the baby.

No.
I believe that each action could potentially result in an alternate timeline to what we experience, however, I do not believe that other timelines exist.
There are an infinite amount of possibilities in this reality, so if alternate timelines could exist, there would be an infinite number.
That could put a huge strain on the fabric of reality. I just don’t think that the universe as it is could handle that stress.
Even a collapsing star is enough to tear a hole in space.
But then again, I know nothing for sure on this topic, so whatever.
I don't believe in parallel timelines, per se. However, I do think it's possible that not every being is constrained to linear time (time always moves forward, 60 seconds per minute) in the way we are now. To us, it may look like these unconstrained beings do "impossible" things, like appearing in multiple places simultaneously, or observing a past event without altering it. Multiple parallel dimensions do seem likely, so in that sense beings could travel between dimensions and that kind of travel might share some similarities with our concepts of time travel. Imagine having portals as a means of travel; is space travel the same thing as space-time travel, since we know space and time are related? Obviously, we're not that advanced in our understanding yet, but who knows what the future holds?

Most people ignore you when you have a bad day. This anime is mord of a advertisement against things as Japanhas high suicide rates. It id a terrible anime and Kaleru's obscene selfishness makes me wanna tear up all the future letters.
Anybody who likes this anime should watch the movie.
