Flashback to the first movie in the scene where John Wick drove his Mustang to the airport and the guard in the truck let him in. The guard is reading a book named "Shibumi", written by an author using the pseudonym Trevanian (READ THE BOOK! AWESOME!). It's a story about a retired hitman raised in the far east, and one of the kills in the book is by the protagonist using a pencil. That influenced the Wick story. Chad Stahelski freely admits to borrowing themes from various action films when writing and directing the Wick series, Asian kung-fu movies, the mirror scene from a Bruce Lee film, "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" is borrowed from in a scene early in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum.
Keanu Reeves is so appreciative of his stunt crew that he gets them all gifts after wrapping. He’s gotten them $10,000 personalized Submariner watches. He’s gotten them motorcycles and other things cause they do the stuff that he and the director deem too dangerous for him to do. Their feeling is if a seasoned stunt person can get hurt doing the stunt then Keanu doesn’t do it. One movie he gave all the stunt crew (not just his five) personalized shirts that showed how many times they met their demise on screen since some of them double for multiple people. 8:55 I love how Aurelio examines John’s car. Especially saying he had a “crack” in the window when in reality the window was toast. 13:30 basically John can’t touch Santino while the marker is in play but once he completes the mission he’s free to go after Santino which didn’t make sense because after completing the task Santino would be part of the high table which you will be marked if you kill. 13:52 The concierge is such a great character. Lance Reddick did an amazing job portraying him. Sad he’s no longer with us.
That is so great to hear! Yeah they have to put so much trust in each other and practice to avoid getting hurt, i'm sure that created a huge bond between them. RIP Lance

Yes, the silencers in the subway were pure Hollywood. Fun scene though. Hollywood does not let physics get in the way of a good story. I think the killing of Santino is within character. John's car and house are gone, his wife is dead. He is willing to die for the righteous cause.
Yeah, even with sub-sonic rounds, there’s gonna be some noise. But speaking of Hollywood ridiculousness with silencers/suppressors on the tv show Columbo. The bud guy has a revolver (like a .38 special) with a silencer on it. Now, there are some revolvers that are designed to seal the cylinder to the barrel to eliminate the gas from escaping, but Hollywood can’t be expected to do any actual research.
The way she cut her wrists the long way is actually the “correct” way to do it for it to work to bleed out. For decades the movies always show it being done the short way, which actually doesn’t really work and will be very slow. (Random fact not many people know.)
Yes, even with suppressed subsonic 22s, the cycling would make loud clicking sounds that people would definitely look for. That was Bethesda Fountain in Central Park at the end. Perkins walked down the same stairs, but she was stopped before reaching the fountain where Winston was sitting in this movie. Seems like that's his preferred place to conduct... business, since he also has to follow the rules. No business on Continental grounds. I kind of understand John's choice. It was less than a week after the funeral. Santino dragged him back by burning all of his wife's things. Also why he seemed a bit relieved when he actually found the bracelet under the ashes.
Just found your channel tonight! Watched the first John Wick and just finished it now this one is here!! Awesome reaction to the first one! First movie reaction was definitely worth a subscription! Looking forward to this. Honestly I love all the John Wick movies but this to me is personally the weakest of them. The one right after this is my personal favorite!
So glad you found us!! Yeah I am super excited for the next couple movies!! This one was alot of fun, but I don't think the pacing was as tight as part 1.
My favs in the series are 1, of course, 3 ( Parabellum) and 4. I was worried about 4 but it is amazing. This one was great but the others are just beyond this one, to me anyway. Keep up the journey. Y'all be safe. Have a wonderful Christmas or your holiday of choice.
11:59 This part is the worst than the dog actually... Santino didn't just blow up his house... he blew up all those priceless photos and memories and things of his wife.
@@KennyandLindsayWatchIn the scene of him offing Santino yeah John did know the rules and what would happen, but him doing what he did is basically kinda symbolic that he’s reached his limit and no longer cares you know? He was trying so hard to leave this life behind and people just won’t leave him a lone, at least that’s what I think. 🤷🏻
John Wick killing Santino on the Continental grounds isn't at all "stupid" if you really think about it. What does he have to live for, why does he give a crap about a world he left behind and has no interest in returning to as he so often mentions. His wife is gone, all his possessions that tie him to his wife are gone, he doesn't even name his dog so he doesn't have a personal attachment to it (even though he clearly does). He just wanted it to be over with Santino, all ties cut, and let what happens happens, but that doesn't mean he's going to go down without a fight. "Anyone who comes for me, I'll kill them, I'll kill them all."
As a filmmaker this american mindset about dog's is upsetting too the upmost, Be damned the children women and the old, Tears are only for an eater out of a refuge can, Not the bodies killed by whatever army...
Thats not true at all. If John had a child, obviously that would be way more upsetting than the dog. When John and Common are shooting each other in the open the first thing we did was call them out for not being able to see and shooting random people. Part of why we like this movie is because John is an efficient assassin and its just not violence for the sake of violence to innocent people. As a filmmaker I would suggest not making assumptions about people. Have a great day! - Kenny
WTH ...you didn't understand a thing about the movie 😂😂😂😂 he killed him because he was not going to go out of that house ( he's rich ) that's why he killed him there
How you gonna say they didn't understand and you call it a house LMAO. Bro is trying to lead a house on the high table and you think he is just gonna stay in the Continental forever? Sounds like YOU didn't understand a thing about this movie lol

I read that the blue Pittie is Keanu Reeves' dog.
That's awesome
Fun little fact is that the dog is Keanu Reeves' personal dog.
awww so cute!
When Santino said you can't help me but he can. He was referring to The Bobayoga
The best beginning to a part two series ever.😮😅

fun fact: in all the John Wick movies, he only gets hit runover by cars from his right side.
oh wow lol we will def keep an eye for that on the next movies!!

Such a good movie!
Remember that when Santino blew up his house, he destroyed all of the photos of his wife & everything they had together.
39:07 all those mirrors, just like ENTER THE DRAGON
And if your interested Joe Rogan did an interview when 4 came out with details on how got so many cameos and some secrets behind the scenes. Very cool
Sweet, yeah I will probably check that out after we watch the movie!

I loved your reference to Johnny Silverhand. I take it you're a fan of the genre of Cyberpunk.
Absolutely!
