    This has been a wonderful presentation. I tuned into your channel looking for tips for wine as a one-man band. I’m around 60, and I’ve started doing background music for my wife’s yoga classes. I’m starting to get a little more serious, but really appreciate tips from guys who are in their swinging . By the way I subscribed, very impressed with all you shared!

    Cool video! I gig as a one man band with backing tracks on a laptop. I get around computer crashes by using an HX Stomp - I sent patch changes to the Stomp from my computer. I also put a dynamic mic into a Apollo Solo, which I use for compression, reverb, and EQ. The HX Stomp and the Apollo Solo both have their own CPUs, so they don't put any load on the computer. It also removes any latency issues. The downside is that the HX Stomp and Apollo Solo are not cheap! You don't need an Apollo Solo, but I use it for recording too.

      😂🥴I think the guitar was sitting on a pillow so it would be visible above the desk. Also…Neural DSP plugins are FAR better than biasfx, just fyi from what I’ve learned since making this video.

    You said the amp you had when you were kid at scouts was to loud even when it was set at 2 and it was behind a. Wall . Well you know that wall is a Fletcher that will bounce the sound of and make the sound louder like a megaphone.

      Could be, but there were big theater curtains blocking it too. I don’t know. 🤷‍♂️ but I just bought that amp back! And this time someone installed an extra volume knob in the effects loop…called a “lion tamer”…now it sounds great at usable volume!!

    Is the Bias FX noticeably better than the guitar amp Sims and effects that are built-in with GarageBand?

    • @justinbishopmusic
      @justinbishopmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I think so, and many, many more options with Bias FX. Tons of effects and completely customizable. I think there’s a free demo. But my current choice is the POD Go. It’s nearly twice as much, but you can use it live. If you just want a great Strat sound on the computer, try Neural DSP... the Cory Wong archetype. Free demo of it too. I’ve found with Bias FX, it’s hard to get a good eq. It’s possible but takes forever to dial in. And every little adjustment seems to make a big difference in overall sound. Move the mic placement on the virtual can, and you’re screwed. But if you have the patience, you can get any sound you want. Pod Go and neural dsp are more user friendly.

      @@rudymolina2282 You need an audio interface to connect the guitar to the computer...I use the Scarlett 2i2 by Focusrite which can be found readily in the $100 range. Here I am using Positive Grid's amp software, but since making this video, I much prefer the quality of Neural DSP which you can try for free for 2 weeks. Also in the $100 range. neuraldsp.com/plugins. You can play it through external computer speakers (I have Samson studio monitors). You can also do an output to a PA system from the Focusrite 2i2. Hope this helps.

      @@Lee-Darin recently I’ve been using an app called iReal pro for Blues and Jazz. You just enter the chord progression and it does the rest. For other styles I make my own.

      I made this using Bias FX2: th-cam.com/video/GPvslIj64-M/w-d-xo.html But since then, I’ve tried the Neural DSP plugins, and I like them way better. Currently using the King Tone Imperial
