Dude!!! U rock! It was the turn signal switch on the steering column as u suggested!! U saved me tons of time brother...I was just getting ready to pull out the whole light switch! Some electrical conta t cleaner did the trick!!!! Dam u good!
Thank you! Have a '62. Did what you said. Worked with new switch. Bulb lights not very bright. Putting shiny beer can metal behind bulbs for better reflect.
All the lights in my 72’ worked but the brake lights. It turns out that the emergency flashers were not working either and these are in the same circuit. My problem was a bad fuse, but I would have never thought there would be a separate fuse just for brake lights.
I might have a break in the wire,, I can run a jumper wire but still no brake lights. Trucks been sitting since 2009. Installed new lights today , everything else works but no brake lights. 1966F-250 four wheel drive!
Do you have rear turn signals? Remember power goes from fuse to brake light switch, then to turn signal switch then to rear brake lights if you have rear turn signals but no brake lights then wiring is fine, turn signal switch is the likely culprit. Flip the surn signal switch from left to right 100 timesspraying wd 40 in the switch area every 30 times. Might clear the corrosion off the contacts
I do have brake lights,,, got to hit the brakes hard, but they work. I need to do the brakes too. I will spray the turn signal switch to. But with a silicone lube. I live in a dusty area of Wyoming. Sweet old truck! Thanks!@@GlennsSpeedShop
What if the turn signals work, running lights work, but brake lights don't. The switch is good, and the lights don't come on when you connect the two wires? Also, the break lights worked 2 days ago. Good fuses and bulbs as well. Any advice?
Do you have power coming to the switch? If not, check fuses and wiring. If so, the switched leg from the brake light switch runs through the turn signal switch. Make sure the turn signal switch is centered as voltage wont pass through if its in the wrong position. If all is good, your turn signal switch may be the issue
@GlennsSpeedShop I am not getting a positive signal from either wire coming to the stop switch. One of those wires goes into the blinker switch, and the blinkers work. So I'm starting to think that short wire connecting the stop switch and blinker switch? I didn't think the turn signal switch would be the issue but it makes since how it could be.
Still cant seem to get them both working on my 62 f250 the passenger brake light works but I cant get it to work on the driver side although I did replace the turn signal switch and then the passenger side one started working
Try running a good ground wire to the light socket. Also fiddle with the turn signal switch while your looking for the brake light, then also the emergency flasher switch the same.
Basically, the same, I think the brake switch is under the dash on the brake pedal. Sometimes, the clip will allow the switch so slip and just need lube in the switch and adjusted
What are you working on? I would start looking for bad grounds or any added wiring like trailer wiring that may be bad, then sounds like the turn signal switch may need repair or replaced.
In 1967 the dual master cylender came out. Testing is the same but the switch location may be different. It may he under the dash or on the proportioning valve with with the pressure differential switch.
Grab a test light and hit both sides of every fuse, then pull the lenses off the rear and remove the bulbs, hit the hazards and headlights and test for power to the rear. Remove the screws that attach the ground wires, clean any rust and replace the screws if necessary.

Glad it helped
Great simple instructions...I actually understood it lol. Thank you for uploading.
Great vid! Turn signal switch it was for me!

Hey Allen, was your pressure switch on the master cylinder? I have a ‘62 F-350 and can’t find the switch. Thanks!

my 65 had it’s pressure sensor fall off. Didn’t even think it was possible, but oh well.

Would this be the same on a 72? My brake lights aren’t working.

@@GlennsSpeedShop Ok thank you
How about having brake lights and no blinkers but if brakes are pressed, then blinker switch will turn off brake light on which ever side indicated?

Will this work with a ‘69 f100

I have a 72 f100 and it has 0 lights in the back, no signal lights, break lights or reverse lights anyone have any suggestions of why that is

Uhhh jump the wires. With key on
