Lightning spear is one of the best for me for dealing ranged damage. It's fast, deals good damage and has good range. It also looks cool as hell

There's always Bloodhounds Step to negate fat rolling
By the by Im a little sad u didn't mention black fire ball on the list. A very useful spell that is consistent with damage throughout the game since it has chip damage relative to boss hp and u can get it really early in stormveil.

dude the black flame regularly out damages the giants flame ball in the late game, with one less slot taken up and almost half the FP. And it has a bigger range. This list is way off. Also dragon maw does INSANE damage, as well as great poise damage, and was also never mentioned.

@@aryotaheri7421 This is just...blatantly untrue. When properly built for there isn't any single-hitting spell in the game that outdamages Giantsflame Take Thee. At 80 Faith with the proper seals, GTT hits for about 2500 damage a pop while Black Flame only hits for about 1500 + chip. Even the biggest boss health bars in the game aren't enough to make the chip damage match the total damage of GTT.
As for range, if you free-aim rather than lock on GTT is only beaten by Frenzied Burst and Loretta's Greatbow/Mastery. Aim up into the air and you can rain GTT down like artillery from halfway across some maps. This combines with the other aspect of its "range," the explosion radius, which for GTT is as large as something like Wrath of Gold or Roiling Magma, makes it ridiculously easy to land even while free-aiming since the fireball just has to land kinda close to where the enemy is and it'll still hit. Black Flame can match it for range, but the arc on it is MUCH less forgiving since the ball itself doesn't drop as smoothly, and it has an absolutely tiny hitbox and explosion radius in comparison. That matters a lot since, without the explosion and projectile size, it makes it much easier for enemies to simply move out of the way to dodge it whereas GTT usually catches anything trying to sidestep it with the actual explosion on impact with the ground.
Lastly is the fact that GTT actually explodes on impact while Black Flame doesn't. This means that it can actually blast enemies on their back as a form of CC and works to control tougher enemies like the various medium-sized Knights and even Malenia herself. By comparison Black Flame barely even staggers and has no CC potential whatsoever.
The only time Black Flame is better than GTT is if you're spamming uncharged versions against enemies who are resistant to fire naturally, can't be staggered, and also have massive health pools. So...against Fire Giant. In every other instance GTT is just flat-out better.
I think we call agree on 1 thing. All the incantations are kickass and made faith fun as heck to play
Lightning spear in the S slot. Damage, range, speed and utility make it one of the best incantations hands down.

It's a classic "jack of all trades master of none" situation is Lightning Spear. Decent range, but not good enough to be called a true "snipe" like Frenzied Burst. Decent damage, but not enough to be called a true "nuke" like Giantsflame Take Thee. Minimal utility outside of specific situations (like how it needs water to have any AoE potential). Minimal tracking, narrow hitbox, and a projectile speed that's juuuust slow enough to be sidestepped by enemies with dodges making it somewhat unreliable against more agile targets at certain ranges.
Lightning Spear is a solid core spell. It's the quintessential "magic missile" for incantations, like Glintstone Pebble is for Sorceries, and works really well as just a solid, basic option. But that "basicness" means it doesn't do anything well enough to really be considered a fantastic spell on its own.
IMO frenzied burst is just a better lightning spear
Don't forget Blessing of the Erdtree.
It gives you passive HP regen for 90 seconds, the regen being 12 HP per second.
Doesn't sound that impressive maybe, but it's great in practice, especially while exploring and clearing out dungeons it is great to preserve flasks and makes you more flexible when you also use offensive incantations in your build like me [you can lean more towards FP flasks since with the Blessing you mostly only need Crimson flasks for emergency heals].
Oh and, it also applies the same passive HP regen to allies around you.
Facts. Blessing of the Erdtree has saved my ass on more than one occasion. That little bit of help can mean the difference between winning and losing.
You can also keep an un-upgraded shield with holy ground in your backpack/use sanctuary stones + regen items to accomplish similar things. So it seems hard to put something that replaceable on a tier list.
Then again, you can put a slightly weaker version of sacred vow on any weapon, and that made it.
Flame grant me strength also made it, and can be replaced with exalted flesh/crab meat/other defensive buffs in a lot of cases, but exalted flesh in particular is a pain and doesn't work for fire. Still, I would rate defensive buffs higher, especially on the ng+'s, where you have a lot of access to them and not getting insta-killed seems better than a bit more damage...

I think Flame Cleanse Me really should be on the list somewhere. Perhaps if you're focusing on PVP you don't need it (and you can use Regression for the same purpose if you have the INT and the spare FP) but it's an absolute PVE staple that transforms places like the Lake of Rot from 'utter nightmare' to 'manageable nuisance'. Almost every build I've played has gone to 12 faith just for that.

Honestly I think they are sleeping on all the dragon incantations. I think the list is trying to be a balance of PVE and PVP and dragon incants aren't exactly the best pvp. Casting from the air is such a strong pve mechanic as well. The frost, greyoll's roar and dragonmaw are all pretty nasty. And Placidusax's taking up 3 slots just sorta gets left out of ranking it. Thats a steep investment.
Oh and pest threads can be at least twice as good as they show here if you get right under a huge boss. It absolutely shreds dragons.

Well the madness incans can be buffed by everything that buffs fire. And mainly counts as fire damage. Reason why i use it in my fire lord build lol
I absolutely love Triple Rings of Light. It does respectable damage, but it gets crazy when you are using it as a room clearing spell. It’s also insane against large bosses like dragons. One cast can hit the same boss 6 or more times thanks to the nature of the spell. Plus it is great in pvp in my experience at least (mostly duels). The boomerang effect and the large hitbox of the spell is amazing. It is honestly rare that it doesn’t score a hit.

Black Flame Ritual is my favorite, very fun and fulfills a similar role as the Ancient dragons lightining strike. It really shines against the biggest bosses and mobs because of the multible ticks of damage it does.

Just sayin' Lightning Spear and Black Flame should be here and no lower than S since they're solid staples from the beginning of the game, do good damage, have decent/good cast time, and have solid range.
Neither are as good as Giantsflame Take Thee when it comes to just having a "shoot projectile to kill enemy" option, at least when properly built for
@@reperfan4 In my opinion black flame is the best flame spell for pve as even with around 30 faith it hits for 800 plus burn dmg.
@@reperfan4 Giantsflame takes numerous memory slots and is difficult to aim in certain terrain because it falls faster and isn’t thrown at as high of an arc as the blackflame or fireball, often hitting the floor in front of enemies if you don’t free aim it. For taller enemies, this is rarely a problem, but for anything human sized or smaller, giantsflame is clunky and your FP might cry a little each time you miss.
This isn’t to say the ability is bad-it’s just not a blanket “better version” of the black flame. One is cheaper and has better range, one is more expensive and explosive, but harder to aim and a bit more niche.
Ancient Dragon's Lightning Strike is the same FP cost as 2 Black Flame casts, and it can annihilate many bosses within a second or two. I think ADLS is the one that really needs to be boosted up to S even if it isn't as good in PvP as it is at slaying bosses. It's obscenely strong, only costs 36 FP, and can be charged.
@@reperfan4 The fact you need to build around it is already a downside. Black Flame doesn't need to be built around; you just need enough faith to cast it and it works just as well no matter what the rest of what your build looks like. That means it's a very versatile and useful spell and fits into many builds, which is a strength, not a weakness. Another thing to consider is cast time, with GTT having a much slower cast time than BF, which makes the latter more spammable in addition to costing less mana.
I think fortisax’s lightning spear and flame fall upon them deserve to be in this list
Yeeeaaah... I just recently pulled Flame Fall Upon Them out of storage to try out after 500 some hours of play and not using it, at all.
It does INSANE damage, with significant range and fires fast.

Lighting Spear???? By quite a lot, the best bread and butter for pretty much any faith build. Much better than honed bolt in pve since it actually staggers, very good range, low mana and extremly fast cast time with a charged version.
S+ tier for sure
The Frost Dragon Breath and The Magic Dragon Breath pretty much got me though my first play through against the Enemies that were immune to the Rot Breath.
I have an incantation to add, "Rejection" it's amazing, it comes out super fast and can sometimes shut off melee only builds sometimes, it can make characters get thrown to the ground perfect for a nice follow up attack, definitely must add it to a future vid 😉

Triple Rings of Light is god tier! You can also chaincast it with discus of light after 1.05. Wrath of gold still on my utility belt.
Is it? I tried it at 80/80 and was not terribly impressed. DPS is reasonable if you can chain cast safely at medium range and the enemy doesn't hop away from the disks returning, but that seems very unreliable, and the delayed damage + no staggers + stationary casting is a liability.
@@Deoxippus I chain cast for fun, but it's not great in pvp. I'm using the golden order seal+goldmask helmet+golden vow and triple rings works really well, especially with golden land for extra pressure. Damage is okay, but it has great utility.
Triple Rings of Light is an absolute beast of an incantation. Great area damage, excellent against large bosses thanks to the boomerang nature of the spell, and honestly crazy strong in pvp. The large hitbox and the boomerang effect makes this spell a force to be reckoned with in coliseum.
personally my favorite incantation is black flame I used it since the beginning and it just got better since the update

I would argue the standard dragon rock breath is better due to the fact that that it applies a thicker single stream that you can wave back-and-forth It's not as wide but I personally feel it is more consistent The only other downside is you cannot cast it while jumping but you do gain the ability to cast it while mounted
Changes I would make to this:
Catch flame higher, decay a bit higher, pest threats lower, swarm of flies lower(it is NOT good in pvp at all), giantsflame take thee higher (not good during a fight but has 1shot potential when freeaimed as a surprise gift)
Swarm is solid in pvp I agree with the rest and I’d also move beast sling to S
@@joyless95 You can literally take the swarm to your face to receive 1 very very very small tick of damage and about 1/5 blood buildup if you just roll or run to the side of it. You can outrun it in every direction except the one it came from. It has pretty long startup and pretty bad tracking. You can't even cast it if your opponent is anywhere near you since the startup is too long as to not get hit+counterhit. You don't even have to approach and just let your opponent waste all his blue, since by just running backwards you'll never get hit. It's only saving grace is its slightly below average mana cost and that pve enemies generally are too large or immobile to dodge it and just take the free ranged bleeds. Even then, bleed doesn't even work on all types of enemies. Beastial sling is only S if you are playing against some casual build without any backup shield, you can just face-tank the cast and counterhit. Also didn't help that chain casting got "nerfed". All in all I'd say bestial sling B-A tier and swarm of flies C tier, maybe B if only used for pve.
@@trime1015 again swarm is for pressure and casting multiple at the same time forces people to waste stamina allowing for you to go in and attack applying more bleed and possibly stunning other players but I suppose now that I think about it I was t thinking of invasions really and more dueling at the academy where there’s less space to avoid it beast sling is good at finishing people off and it stuns most casters and comes out way faster than most spells you can also jump cast to quickly output two at once making stance break more effective and yeah against shields of course it’s ineffective I mean what is effective shields are stupidly strong with no real hardcounter outside of status application

Regular Rotten Breath is 10x better than the special dragon edition.

You can use the original one from horseback, it has more utility imo. The decay one is good too, but the original is arguably better
Regular rotten requires less investment, is faster to get off, is cheaper to cast, and still applies scarlet rot, while doing less initial damage, but you're really only using this for the rot effect that eats half the hp bar of most bosses or outright kills most enemies on the map if you let it run out it's timer (which is incredibly long!!!). Pretty much use this for areas clogged with many many smaller enemies, or to take down a particularly large and difficult enemy by appliying it, running, and then coming back to sit just outside of aggro range to watch it melt as it just stands there letting it happen.

Law of Regression nullifies the effects applied to weapons, the effect that removes you from healing and every single effect from the Physik flask. Also completely cures every status and buildup up status. You forgot to mention that stuff, has huge implications regardless of PvP/PvE

You have MASSIVELY underrated all the Dragon Communion incants. Except Placidusax's Ruin, that thing is kind of inaccurate, probably good for PVP but in PVE kinda sucks.

Gotta check out Flame of the Red Mayne. It has a quick cast, wide arc and most importantly can stagger like crazy, like I've rarely seen an enemy take more than 2 or 3 before staggering.

It's worth noting that even though Lightning Spear isn't as FP/mana-effecient as Honed Bolt, it is faster as a one-off cast (as in you're not spamming the Bolt back-to-back). Ice Lightning Spear CAN be fun (I feel like frostbite is somewhat easy to proc with this). But most importantly, unnamed dragon breath incants have the ability to be cast while on horseback unlike the named ones. If you main something like faith and start as a prophet, you get a >wide< range of breath attacks for only 2 points invested into Arcane. It's so worth it.
As far as my opinions on tiers. I feel like Golden Vow should be A tier instead of S (it's less accessible than Flame Grant Me Strength due to an extra 10 points of Faith needed). Maybe that's just me. I feel like Pest Threads isn't as good as people make it out to be either (B tier at Best *badum tsh*). Not necessarily related to the video topic but you can use double Gravelstone instead of Jellyfish shield for the same effect without the need to have a buff animation (just maybe a hard swap). Aside from that, great video as usual. Thank you guys for all the work you put into these.

Other people have mentioned this, but Lightning Spear is really good. It has very good range, tracking, and damage. It isn’t broken, but it is a staple in PvE for its utility and FP efficiency.
I agree it was a strange one not to include. It may not do a ton of damage, but it is almost always the safe option. Reasonably quick start-up/recovery/range. Basic and unexciting, but borderline necessary I would think.
Kinda surprised neither Black Blade nor Lightning Spear made it to the list
i made ultra mage with faith buffs....i can get carian grandeur to hit for like 8000 its hilarious.....also radagons rings is like a nuclear bomb i can get it to do like 3k on the albinaurics at the entrance to moghs area, need like 2-3 casts and they're all dead, lol.
Pve only:
1) lightning spear- range and high damage
2) greyolls roar- solid enemy debuff and great damage
3) Golden vow
4) frenzied burst
5) black flame- really shines in ng++
6) burn o flame- crazy damage and the animation makes you avoid many attacks
7) fortisax lightning- top tier damage and stagger. 1.04 made you recover when the enemy does.
8) Giantsflame take thee
9) enzykes decay
10) swarm of flies

The Ezieck Rot breath is 100% at least S tier. I cant even tell you how many times that has been extremely useful. Poping one of those off and rot breathing something at the start of the fight and just watching its health melt is so satisfying. Or if say your on a ledge and rot breath giant blade wielding lion below you and then turn around and walk away to kill some other things and suddenly free runes!
Ancient dragon lightning bolt is the best incant period.Each Bolt does 1000-1500 damage unbuffed and you mostly hit AT least twice.

Electrify Armament is GREAT. Lightning is just really great in this game.
Bloodflame Blade is at least A tier if used with Bloodhound's Fang.
I'm so glad I switched to a Faith/Arcane build for NG+ after I level up more, leveling my weapons and wrap up some lose ends.
Golden Breath spanks large bosses. It also has a lightning damage AOE, no charge time, and doesn't cost that much FP.

Flame Cleanse me is a niche utility tool, that you basically want as soon as possible if you invest in faith.
Little disappointed that borealis’ mist didn’t appear on this list. Genuinely good dragon spell that does great damage because of how fast it builds up frost. You could also pair it up with bloodflame to reset the frost cooldown and deal massive amounts of bleed and fire damage.
Placing Rotten Breath so low and not including other dragon incantations is very odd and it just seems like you haven't really used them...otherwise they'd be on the list. Also, as others have stated, Black Flame is a solid spell that scales well in subsequent playthroughs due to the DoT based on enemy HP. Black Blade is similarly strong, particularly against endgame bosses that have a lot of HP.
As an avid Dragon Communion user I can understand it. Rot is a big damage ticker, whereas aside from Frostbreath you aren't getting much aside from the base damage (frostbite has that damage proc and makes them take more damage so I could see it being on here at least) but none of them have Hyperarmor, so you can be knocked out of all of them easily if you aren't careful.
@@daethedm2933 right, but if you time them properly they melt things. The lack of hyper armor was never really an issue for me. The only thing that WAS an issue, which should be patched, is getting knocked out of it by Horah Loux's stomp. You're telling me I can jump over a stomp to avoid damage but can't levitate over it? Gtfo
Fire incantations are so fucking busted it's insane, i wish there was a lightning equivalent of "giantsflame take thee" for more damage since lightning spear doesn't really do that much damage.
Maliketh incantation definitely deserves to be on the list, even death lightning
I think flame cleanse me is a really good incantation now that more people are using scarlet rot builds.
Also really good in pve, not as good in pvp but still good.
Black flame protection is pretty broken too and I'm fairly certain you can use it with golden vowe
Cmon flame cleanse me is a great incantation. My first and main playthrough of the game had that incantation always in my slots
Imo faith is at its best when you can work around your enemies weakness. big enemy? ancient dragon lightning strike. big enemy resistant to lightning or fire? pest threads. weak to fire? well boy oh boy do we have alot of options with catch flame, black flame tornado, GTT. What faith has over magic is the versatility in damage types, status. Thats what puts faith above magic, we may have to go more out of the way to get our desired charms, spells, godfreys icons and what not but the final product is a good time.
If your pair fires deadly sin and blood flame blade it causes massive bleed build up just by standing near them
U forgot about “black blade” it’s really good probably like an A tear it lowers down their hp like the black knife but better in my opinion

I think borealis mist is just as good as ekyzykes decay, since itll do a ton of damage and proc the frostbite which will usually just kill when you get the whole hit in,
Kinda wild seeing unendurable frenzy but not the flame of frenzy. Flame of frenzy does more damage per fp from my experience without commiting to using an absurd amount of FP and animation lock.
I gotta give credit to my main carry through PVE in early game Dragons Maw and its replacement Greyolls Roar. Both of these incantations have hard carried me through hard times
"Lightning Spear" and "Flame, Fall Upon Them" are two of my favorites. "Lightning Spear" gives you a solid ranged option that breaks through shields pretty well and most PVE enemies can't dodge it if you don't charge it up. "Flame, Fall Upon Them" is a quick AOE option that is also very strong against large enemies, as each fire ball has its own hit box. I've taken 1/3 health off of later games bosses with one hit using it and taken out entire groups of enemies in one hit with it.
Black flame is by far better than lightning in terms of raw damage. Mine hits for 2.5k per cast opposed to lightning spears 1.8k (DC seal is scaled to 376 ar). I'm running a arcane/faith with pure incantations and my damage is better per cast with
But if your fighting any boss outside and it’s raining. You should swap to lighting attacks for the dmg increase buff and how all lighting attacks do an aoe off the target you are hitting. Played dual pulley crossbow on ng7+ play thru and I didn’t realize that one lighting bolt bolt that hit one guy in a middle of a group literally spread the damage to anything within 3 steps of it. All I know is I do enjoy the buffs to add extra dmg to the pulley crossbow in your right hand. Especially with weapons that give FP/HP back per hit or kill. Boggarts roar buff works on your right hand weapon as long as it’s kept in dual wield. Left hand switch to dual and cast buff, swap back to dual wielding, and right hand AOW will get buff added to its dmg. My buffs always start with the long duration types, then I finish off with commanders rally for the 20%, oath of vengeance, and swap to jellyfish shield if it’s a spell cast. The amount of damage you do because of the free additional 40 levels(+5 to each stat) with the increased poise and AP increase let’s you do ridiculous 1 shot cast or physical damage. I wish on console it had timers for all buffs, or atleast add time in description. There are some body armor sets that don’t hint at buffing certain spells, incantations, physical weapon type, and/or a weapon that can get increased dmg. Reading the games lore will hint or the description is actually a riddle for you to solve. Some armor will say something like example: “ this dress wore by maidens, show how faithful the maidens belief in two fingers ,and how spells are strong against non believers” then you put on the armor cast a two finger spell and it adds a % to a heal for wearing the armor. Same with confessors set. You don’t get faith stat increase but two finger incantations do more for you and someone wearing armor with similar description.

@@8486odin rofl, I love the hamia spell. Looks like you vomit blue shit straight down a huge cliff. How many bosses or mini bosses you can kill with that spell because it doesn’t have a cast range. I forgot what mine tunnel you can see the crystal boss on the bottom in the middle of it. I remember just charging up and trying to see if I could hit it since aiming without first person from the edge would let you reach the crystal bosses. Then one 30sec long buff and here comes the vomit and then “ enemy felled” lol. I basically play now with a shitload of rainbow and glow gems on to toss of cliff edges to see if you can cheese or speed thru an area. If I bought this game for pc then I could use the mod that shows you the invisible walls with the drops that will kill you even though you don’t die from fall damage. I kinda miss the Pegasus glitch as well. I ran so far off the map that I’ve seen a few large areas partially done and I hope they’ll be additional content added to the game. The bosses there force you to play hit and run tactics, because you can’t dodge the combo attacks they do with spells. I’m sure that the items data mined that we can’t get yet come from those strange mobs and bosses/mini bosses hidden under the clouds or under the map in areas where we were able to travel beyond what’s shown in game as of now. Especially those bosses and enemies that look like discarded original mobs, but can be found in the lore. Just seemed like they didn’t want to add them in game. Would be cool if this game really had physics added into it. Would be the first of its type to actually let people be creative with attacks and when you have a boss burning thru the atmosphere like a comet and hits that cliff edge by the water. He wouldn’t hit the corner of the wall and insta die, but smash thru and create a crater. Plus how many arrow moves let’s you shoot straight up and come down with speed, but don’t do much damage because weapon level, arrow type, and such. I hate hitting enemies with regular arrows just to do zero damage, but see this huge ass spear stuck in its head lol…. But if you have a dot bolt/arrow that you hit them with from the same lobbing distance, the damage will only register then. Would be nice to see all of our spells do self dmg and lobbing arrows bounce off enemies or stick based on “ physics” haha.

I'm just dropping by here to say that the Stormhawk Axe is the most under rated PVP weapon in the game. I went from 14 furled fingers to 60 using its ash of war in one day. I probably went 55-5 or so. Such an amazing ash for PVP. It stun locks anyone including high poise players, and it's ash lasts MUCH longer than people think it will. And it goes off almost as fast as placidusax ruin as far as eye frame's. Am I the only one who uses it????
Ancient dragon lighting absolutely shreds as a rushdown denier, the ammount of times I insta'd someone just because they thought they could get free hits off, while I was casting protected by the incant's natural hyper armor is insane, agains't pure melee it's a bliss, agains't mages and other faith builds not so much.
one aspect of Placidusax thats especially good is the explosion you do first. it's not the highest damage thing, but it's good to give yourself breathing room if you're surrounded or to push someone off a cliff
Defensive incantations a la Barrier of Gold deserve more love. Reaching over 70% resistance in a dmg type can trivialize many bosses.
Bestial sling spam reminds me of that Terry Crews with the AA12 shotgun scene in the first "The Expendables" movie, where hes just mowing down an hallway of soldiers with it
Frozen lighting is one of my fav lightning incans that blasts a whole area in front of you for good aoe damage.

Just a little heads up, golden vow is nerfed in pvp to half is value (7.5 damage buff and 5% damage reduction)in case you didnt know! Also in case pest wasnt already insane in pve, it can actually hit big bosses (dragons, elden beast, etc..) twice, wich just melts their health away
i think black flame ritual deserves a D tier. not insanely useful for pve, but pvp it creates a wall of damage that also blocks off vision from the opponent so they can't see what(or even when) you're casting. very niche but so good at it's particular job on top of synergizing with just about every incant in the game that i think it deserves a spot around top 20
No basic lightning spear? That has been my workhorse throughout this game and arguably gets higher DPS that some of the spells on this list with a quicker cast time and being safer to use.
It is also the only lightning spear spell that throws a spear... need more of those.

Frenzied Burst should definitely be higher up. it does everything he said it does, plus fully charging it allows it to pierce through shields, making shields obsolete in a fight.
Where would you place Greyoll's Roar? I notice that isnt on here, and it has respectable damage, but its primary use is the Debuff it applies, lowering attack and defense for all enemies in the radius. This debuff is useful for mob enemies, though they'd usually be wiped by the spell's damage, but it can also be applied to EVERY Boss, AND players.
It's a top 3 best incantation for me. Sits in my #2 incant slot next to my basic lightning spear... and I have 550 hours put into this game so I've experimented a lot.

Death lightning is s+. It is the single most OP incantation in terms of damage accompanied by ancient dragon lightning strike
I’m pretty sure ancient dragon lightning strike does more damage but it does fly away. It can also 1-2 shot the elden beast
Fire's deadly sin hasn't been fully patched and actually still works with bloodflame/bleed
I don't know how you guys feel about the more defensive side of faith but things like Erdtrees Blessing and any of the AOE element resistance buffs are so good in coop, especially for helping in PVE.

Not surprised to Swarm of Flies on the list, I've heard a lot of similar stuff about it... but despite going through the whole game as a hybrid int/faith build, and starting a second run with a 'paladin' type str/faith build, I've just never been able to get it to work for me. The projectiles are so friggin' slow, I could kill most things twice over before they even REACH it, and they just flat-out can't catch up to the more agile of foes. They're the only way for a pure caster to inflict bleed, sure, but they take way too long to do so for that to be useful by itself. I tried them against several bosses who are weak to bleed, but always wound up giving up on it after a few attempts and just going back to melting them with direct damage of one sort or another.
I dunno, maybe they're good if you use the Dragon Communion Seal and run your Arcane all the way up. Assuming that actually makes a difference.
You should have done this in two groups. First capturing pvp and the other capturing pve. How could you even miss lightning spear?
I'm surprised Greyroll's Roar isn't on here considering it is relatively quick casting, does a nice chunk to everything around you, and applies a double debuff and damage and defense.
This is an old Vid they added poise and Hyper armour to Lanseaxx Glaive it also has a Knock down component to humanoid enemies like the Crystalline Trio
I have one to add: elden stars. Yes the cast time is long but they shortened it to where you might get hit if you cast it but it’ll most likely go off. It releases a big golden ball that launches other small tracking balls and when it gets close enough the big golden ball explodes. Very effective in pve and not bad in pvp with the small tracking balls distracting them so you can hit them. I’d say at least A tier maybe B tier if your timing is bad a few times.
