I bought a 2011 E82 135i LCI N55 M last year w 70,000km. Blue with brown leather. 1Ms are like 10-30k more but they should not depreciate if you keep miles low.

They sound insane w/ the performance exhaust, someone in a 135i did an autobahn flyby, I then bought one. These BMWs don't have OPF filters, huge ugly grills, or tons of tech gimmicks like new cars.

@AutoTopNL 1M was an M passion project, manual only Mcar would never happen without some shenanigans . Biermann said they made it and kept it hidden for 9 months. I dont know if i would call it tricky , when you're used to it , especially driving it with traction off its very fun and rewarding when you know how to control it , and controlling the drift out of a corner. But getting to that point it can be tricky i guess due to the short wheel base and quick response.
I have 1M as well. It definitely requires a skilled, trained driver in low-traction conditions. And that's why I bought the thing. Lots of cars go fast and can do so no matter who is driving. This car requires a good driver to go fast.
M2s are great looking cars with bulletproof N55 v2 engines. But the 1M is extremely rare & should never depreciate. I see M2s daily but never a 1M. Also, the E82 chassis will cost far less, I saw a guy selling his M2 & all the mods he had about 18k worth, that's nearly what I paid for my 135i N55
1M has lower production numbers and has one of the best power-to-weight ratios. M2C is excellent car as well but less emotion. It's robotically predictably good. The 1M surprises you every time, giving it more personality than the newer electronic cars.
