If you want to cut in reverse, with your foot on the brake and stopped. Turn the key to the yellow section and press the button next to it. Then put it in reverse. From there release the brake and you can cut grass in reverse when you need to. It’s basically a safety switch that requires you to think and look before you go backwards. And when you’re ready to forwards again. Put the key back into the green section and put it back into forward gear. Then release the brake
You can now front and reverse with the key in the reverse cut position as long as you activated it. It will remain active for as long as the ignition cycle. Once you turn it off, then you have to do the process again.

That’s why you have that button on the right side and a small, small light on the left side so kind a switch in the middle push the yellow that’s comes on you could use it for the reverse to cut the grass. I have the same machine.
The yellow triangle is for keeping the blade from shutting down when shifting to reverse, after starting the mower, put it in neutral and turn the key from start to center and press the yellow triangle, the red light will come on and you can go in reverse while the blade is engaged.
The Orange Button on the right front does work with the mower on you move the key back to the starting position and push the button on and the button will light up . Works great on mine.
I’m a woman and this is my first time on a lawn more of this sort. Thank you for your help, but it would help me a little more if your camera was a little bit back more so that the whole picture can be shown for some of the teachings. I think I got enough to be able to run it.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I have replaced my battery twice. Then one day I backed it out of my shed, went and did something, came back, dead battery. (previous times it signaled "fail" on my overly-informational charger). So I started to go get my charger but was pissed cuz brand new battery. So I disconnected headlights, which are "always on"? Wtf? To my suprise, turned key and it started. Mybe I had bad batteries, maybe Lowes set up the mower wrong, but why have useless headlights drain your battery? Who mows in the dark? Reply if you've had similar issues with the craftsman.
FYI: reverse cutting button (orange triangle) you talk about: manual says you have to hold it in for 3 seconds… that may be why it didn’t work for you.
I am 6 foot and the leg room on our nw T110 is too sall. Even with the seat all the way back I have a hard time bending my leg to use the brake. Wish there was an extesion available to move the seat rearward some! I may have to build something!
Just purchased this mower. I'm not real tall so I need to adjust the seat so I can push down the brake pedal. The manual is not clear how to do this... Any suggestions?
@@umerbashirdar appreciate the suggestion. I'd done that when I made this comment. I whimsically figured out the issue earlier tonight. The retailer that delivered it had the seat adjusted in a way that wasn't registering my weight. I'm glad I don't have to return it and go through that 3 ring circus. Finally get to mow!
@@chanthana7694 i adjusted the seat underneath. It was pulled up all the way forward. Ultimately we wound up exchanging it for a Jon Deere. Only a few hundred dollars more and the overall performance + enginuity is superior by a lot. Craftsman seems to have lost interest in customer support and quality control. 1st hand testimony right here ✋
New, first time starting the engine surged, called the dealer, carb not under warranty, new carb $115. Not paying that so bought a Carbpro for $15, changed it out and no more engine surge. Moved seat forward still hard to depress brake pedal. If you are short thus is not the mower for you unless you can adjust the pedal back towards you.

What’s the point of different gears?

I'm having t the same issue, the beake pedal should be angled back or able to adjust so you can reach and be able to fully engage. .
@@MM-he6rh If you look under the seat, there is a knob or lever or something to loosen. Then the seat will move.

I use non-ethanol, but you can use 10% ethanol gas, not the 15%. 30 weight oil.

I agree. As of this moment, this tractor mower is a piece of crap. Brand New. Won't start. Bulbs on headlights are incandescent. Why?!
Make sure your battery isn’t dead. If it is, get a charger and charge it. It’s the number 1 issue I’ve always had
