Thanks for the very clear video. This is great for a teenager trying a riding lawn mower for the first time. Or, uh, a married 32 year old mom who has never had to mow the grass before 😅
57 year old Granny here, learning new things. Thank you for giving a clear and concise guide to a riding lawn mower. Hubby has had a stroke and yard work is beyond him at this point. I'll be thinking of you as I tame my yard...and save the $300 per month a lawn service wants to charge me!
My dad had to leave to help a cousin, leaving me to try to keep up with his lawn and garden. The lawn needs mowed but his riding mower is scary. Thank you so very much for making and posting this video. Words cannot express my gratitude.
im 29 about to be 30 in 2 months , i wanna say Thank you so much for teaching this ole boy how to fire up a rider mower , cause all my life i never learned to use a rider , so last saturday i fired up my rider the way you did sir , not only did i mow the yard , i managed to go from uncut yard to 4 turn speed track , then 30 minutes later after i mowed both sides of my yard i spent an extra 20 to 30 having an absolute blast of a time dialing in 7 to 10 laps around the yard , then yesterday i dialed in more laps in my 4 turn speed track yard
Oh my gosh your AWESOME!!!! THANKS SOO MUCH!! this is my video request guys and after watching it I feel much more comfortable with the mower operations now.
I am a 70 year old widow that just bought a house after years of renting. Also bought a John Deere L118 mower that runs for $300. Thank you for this video. The last riding mower I used was about a 1979 Dynamark, so it’s been awhile. This video was very helpful. I also love your sentiments at the end. I AM enough! I can do this!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My dad just had surgery and I moved back home for a couple of months to help out while he's recovering. I've always used an electric push mower at my own house so my dad's gas-powered riding mower is a little intimidating. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video!
Thank you for your motivating and instructive video. Just turned 76 years young and have done maintenance on our mowers but never any cutting. Hubby has had a sudden mobility problem so I am in the seat now. Your video is excellent for someone like me. I had never even started a mower. I know that my husband possibly could have shown me, but he is irritated that he is unable to do the mowing and he was not in teaching mode. You said "and these things are fun to drive!" YES
Absolutely love this kinda content. There are so many people out there that are unfamiliar with and intimidated by doing these types of things that most of us take for granted. Your unbiased and non-judgmental approach is a much needed breath of fresh air on this platform. Thank you for just being a helpful person.
This has been incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much for making this. Have been a little anxious about using mine but now feel like I can do it. I truly appreciate the time you took to make this for us. Have an awesome day!
This is golden. Very good and clear information. I'm about to purchase this kind of machine. I don't have car, and probably never will, but this video helped me understand the basics, so it won't be a problem to learn to drive this thing. Thank You.
Fantastic video start to finish. Growing up my dad and my older brother always mowed the lawn so I never learned how. Now that I’m 30 and own my own home, it’s something I need to know. I’m happy you were kind enough to make this video and help out some people like me!
Thank you :) I realized today that I'm not scared of the rider, I'm terrified! Your video really helped me a lot! I have a Greenworks 21"Self-Propelled but we have 15,000 sq. feet of lawn. I'll give the rider a try!
Absolutely awesome video! THANK YOU so very much... I just got a troy-bilt, and it has been sitting in my garage waiting for me to build up the nerve to use it! I am not sure why, but I am terrified of it! Going to get on it and drive around for a little while...great suggestion. I got mine with a bagger...anything different I should be doing?
I see you do the square method sometimes. You drive it straight, turn left or right, go straight again, and then turn left or right until you find yourself in the middle of the square. Back and forth takes longer, especially with a pusher or self-propelled, but people love to get those yard lines
Thank you for this. I’m upgrading from a walk behind to a lawn tractor and was a little intimidated. Your video alleviated most of my concerns, but tackling the hills on my property with a riding mower might be similar to a spin on Mr Toad’s Wild Ride. 🤣
Thank you so much for your helpful video. Yes, I am one of those people that are intimidated by riding mower. Your video helps me to be less intimidated. Appreciate it so much. 😊
Thanks so much! I'm mechanical but my husband isn't....We bought a mower with our house and it works but it needs work... so I'm new at this but it all makes perfect sense.
Im going too purchase one. Id probably get an air compressor and blow out all that excess grass around the blades and on the lawn mower itself. I know nobody is going too speed mow their grass but approximately how fast do these go? Id imagine they atleast do 7-15mph lol.. also if your not mechanically inclined like myself where would i get the lawn mower air filter and oil filters from ad well as where would i get my maintenance done at? I dont own a truck so not sure how i would get this thing too a shop for an oil change and regular maintenance..
This was excellent -- thank you! I never used a riding mower before and the provided manual is horrible at getting one going. Well done as a teacher and communicator!
Hi, my name is Angela Lovett. I just wanna say thank you for the tips on how to run a tractor I ran it today after I watch your videos. My brother got one. He taught me how to run it now I know how to run the tractor. Thank you very much for your tips. You’re awesome. God bless you. Take care and thanks again yours truly Angela Lovett.🎉🎉🎉🎉 I’m a very quick learner this is my first time I got ran a tractor I felt good getting on the tractor. I love it tractors at cool
In case you didn't know, that yellow button on left side of steering wheel is for reverse. Push it put it in reverse you don't have to disengage the blades at all
Just got one. No where near intimidating but deff want to know the most effective way of cutting the lawn. But ever video is a how to do a walk around. I deff save time with a riding mower but I now have to rake up after. Even with mulching blades. I think its because I'm not going in the correct pattern.
I'm quite experienced at mowing with push lawn mowers and weed eaters. My brother just picked up a lawn tractor and he's pestering me to "try it out"...but I just can't figure out where to even start with this damn thing
I was planning to buy a rider mower. I have no idea how to operate it. Im a woman and i cut my grass. I have an Ego power + self propelled mower but due to my foot hurting now i was planning to get one. But stupid question what kind of gas you use on this and where do i buy them? Thanks
What am I doing wrong… bought a used jd lawn mower …. Mowed some, caught, got stuck, then wouldn’t crank, charged battery, lites on but won’t turn over . Thank you
Thanks for making this video. My bf needed help the other day and assumed I knew how to use a mower. Well, I didn’t. Almost hurt both of us. So now I’m going to try to mow the yard. Almost 30 and learning new things. I’ve always push mowed but now my yard is huge and that’s exhausting.
I love the bunny that ran in at 20 seconds and then said NOPE and got outta there

Thanks for the very clear video. This is great for a teenager trying a riding lawn mower for the first time. Or, uh, a married 32 year old mom who has never had to mow the grass before 😅
This has been very helpful, thank you. Grew up with brothers that did the yardwork. Now as single mom learning this is intimidating.
What other videos would help you? I'm down for ideas, and I want to keep helping
Can you show how to change the oil? I may have missed it
Thank you! I was feeling a little flustered until I watched your video. You explained it all so well.

Thank you 🙏🏼 so much. I’m a 60 yr old widow who did NO yard work whatsoever. This helps so much. 😊
My dad had to leave to help a cousin, leaving me to try to keep up with his lawn and garden. The lawn needs mowed but his riding mower is scary. Thank you so very much for making and posting this video. Words cannot express my gratitude.

Very helpful for someone that lived in apartment never mow in his life and just bought a house! Going to invest in a JD ride on !

Thank you so much for this!! I completely forgot how to run this type of mower and this really helped
Brought back good memories when I was a kid. Very similar to our old ride on

You are so welcome!
thank you so much, my son explained to me once and I forgot all, I am just looking outside wishing my grass short because I am alergic
Thank you for this information. It was very helpful!
Just wanted to say thanks for the video I got a new job and I have to cut the grass with a ride on so thanks from , Dublin , Ireland 🤔😁🤙

I’m about 10 years old, and I want to ride one of those mowers
I'm 11 and I have one but it don't work😢
Thank you for sharing these tips
Super helpful!
I will buy a Toro Super Recycler Personal Pace Rear Wheel Drive Mower. To complicated a riding mower. Nice review.
Helpful..thanks! Looks like a lot of maintenance keeping these up?
Thanks for going into details. Im buying the exact sane one as a 1st timer. 😬 ...... im excited to get ride one.
In case you didn't know, that yellow button on left side of steering wheel is for reverse.
Push it put it in reverse you don't have to disengage the blades at all

Dude, the outro was unexpected but needed. Cue me crying over a video on how to mow my lawn for the first time. Lol
So helpful!! This was very intimidating for me so I’m glad there are people who can help me learn. Thank you !
Yes, I am one of those intimidated people LOL! Cute bunny rabbit peaking in the beginning of the video...
I did this lawnmower today all by myself
I'm quite experienced at mowing with push lawn mowers and weed eaters. My brother just picked up a lawn tractor and he's pestering me to "try it out"...but I just can't figure out where to even start with this damn thing
thank you for helping me
Do I need to store it indoors? Wondering if I could keep it outside and use a cover? Do people do that? I don't have a shed.
Yes, you definitely can. I used an old grill cover I had lol
Im looking for how to cut the grass with a mower like this and overcoming the wide turns and small yards to keep from going in endless figure 8’s.
I've got a ariens riding lawn mower but on mine the battery is under the chair & the gas is by the engine
Great info thanks , bit hard to listen to you when motor running 👍
I was planning to buy a rider mower. I have no idea how to operate it. Im a woman and i cut my grass. I have an Ego power + self propelled mower but due to my foot hurting now i was planning to get one. But stupid question what kind of gas you use on this and where do i buy them? Thanks
I recommend gas without ethanol in it we call it rec fuel where I'm from but any automobile standard fuel will work
good video
You ought to try using a leaf blower after you're done mowing clean off that deck.
I like to leave it on there to quite down the operation like insulation... 😆 🤣 😂
You're right, tho
What am I doing wrong… bought a used jd lawn mower …. Mowed some, caught, got stuck, then wouldn’t crank, charged battery, lites on but won’t turn over . Thank you
Thank you 😊
Is there any worry of the mower flipping or tipping over on a hill? Thanks.
If it's a steep hill, you definitely can
Thank you!
I have a John Deere D100 it’s a manual 5-speed transmission. I have no idea what gear to put it in? Help lol
Start going in 1st gear, and depending on how thick the grass is, keep speeding up until you are comfortable.
I’m watching this so when I get a house I know how to mow grass
Do this work on 100 series John deer
What is recreational fuel??
Ethanol free gasoline
Fuel gage is in front if seat
How do you reverse a John deer
With the blades off or push the button that allows you to without
Thx man my crushes mom asked me to mow their lawn while there on vacation and lets just say I'm getting rizzy!
There is no better way to impress a crush than to be a positive and productive person. Go you! Let us know how it goes be safe!
This was so helpful. I used a riding lawnmower for the first time and was so nervous until I watched your video and there is no stopping me know. 😂
Thank you so much this was really helpful! Off we go for a first ride! 🚜
Where is your fuel gage to know how much fuel you have⁉️🤔
Good question! I would also like to know
Usually under the front of the seat behind your legs.
I was never here 🤫
Thanks for the tutorial it’s very helpful for an 11 year old learning how to drive
Riding lawnmowers doesn’t take you that long to cut grass
