The only thing that stresses me when flying is turbulence,i really am like just holding tight the whole flight, and even the smallest bumps make me wanna scream lol
I booked a flight for a trip this December. I read that booking a seat near the wing will you expierence less turbulence like the video mentioned. And I did just that.
No one said turbulence does not affect planes. It does. It just doesn't make planes crash. Ever. And the plane wasn't nose diving, it was descending so it could land. Turbulence in a jumbo jet is literally nothing compared to the turbulence you'd experience inside a much smaller private plane, like a Cessna.
This will never relax me at all because i've always wondered to myself "what if THIS time, this specific plane that i'm in crashs ? Like it's so random, what if that one thing goes wrong " , i'll always have the phobia of it
Turbulence is the same as bumps in a road or waves on the ocean it's not supposed to be perfectly smooth and crashes are usually caused by multiple factors lining up pilots and crew also spend thousands of hours flying and most make it to retirement
Just got off a plane journey yesterday. It's not so much the shaking turbulence, it's when the plane drops suddenly for a few seconds. Feels like a lift dropping. I was starting to freak out a bit 😔 it really puts me off going abroad for holidays. It's when we're descending to land that's the worst and take off, that moment when you feel you are no longer on the ground that weightlessness 😭
Ummm the weird feeling like being weightless in flight is actually about lift lift is the air comming to the top of the wings going to the bottom creating a vortex lifting the aircraft up and with high speeds the aircraft can take off faster also the pilots deply the flaps to create more lift and after 100 feet they slow the aircraft down to not stress the engines its pretty good for the airplane thats what causes the weightlesness so dont worry God and the pilots got you're back😊
It's like a roller coaster. You know everything is gonna be fine, but the adrenaline kicks in either way. I personally love roller coasters, so I'm cool with turbulence.
Stop being scared its normal just pray before flight so the flight go safe thats why most airlines have prayer videos for us christian and catholic people.
I work in a airplane manufacturing company we test airplane wings to their full limit I can just tell you you can bend a airplane wing up to 90° it won't tear apart its very normal that the wings are swinging up and down it might look terrifying but it has to swing the material is like rubber so it can take forces without breaking if the wing is made out hard material it wouldn't swing and instantly break in 100 pieces try it out with a rubber for a pencil and a ruler try to bend those you will see what I mean

I searched for this video after getting off a scary flight from Izmir to Istanbul, coming back from vacation. While descending over the Sea of Marmara (during the 2018 September Medicane) the plane shook violently and it was the worst turbulence I had ever experienced. (And I am someone who flies a lot) I kept telling myself that everything is fine and this is normal, but I couldn't help but feel terrified. Glad to say, I am on the ground and safe and sound. :D
Same, I had pretty much the same experience when I was flying from Manchester to Dalaman in Turkey. The plane shook so bad I honestly believed we were crashing and not landing. After we landed I realised it was so freaking windy outside.
I felt it too. When I was passing through Turkey to Lebanon. The plane shock violently. But I was already expecting it. It does happen often flying on top of mountains in hot weather areas.
I’ve seen this in a lot of videos how turbulence is nothing to be afraid of and that sounds good in writing but experiencing is a whole other issue. Part of the fear is not having any control over the situation. Everyone is comfortable driving but let’s play out this scenario for a second: imagine you’re on the road and everything’s going smooth when suddenly you see a big 18 wheeler truck coming in your direction, full head on. You can’t get out of the way as you see this thing coming towards you, you’re trembling and go into panic mode when suddenly at the last minute, the truck goes onto the left and you’re good, you’re gonna be ok. Then you realize that road runs very close to another road that it may seem you’re heading towards traffic when you’re actually not, they’re both just too close and create an optical illusion and lots of cars come and go and none have ever crashed. You think you’re not gonna feel anything the next time you get on that road and may have to face another optical illusion of an oncoming car?
The most common reasons why planes have crashed is usually because of a pilot mistake, defects in the plane, or weather. Turbulence is literally harmless. Also, a lot of plane accidents happen during takeoff or landing.
Kami cam i took my first ever trip by myself on an airplane earlier this month. i cried 3 times. 1 during take off, and 2 during the flight. turbulence was so bad, and it doesnt help that i have anxiety. i know people say it is very safe..... but the fear never goes away for me.

Flights through turbulence always seem smoother to me when I am manually controlling the aircraft. The autopilot tries to fight the turbulence, and so the aircraft goes through changes in altitude more often.

Wait, turbulence hasn’t caused a crash in 40 years? I’ve heard it always said that a plane had never crashed because of turbulence. But now you’re saying it has. Tell me more about this incident...
Turbulence is dangerous if you aren’t wearing your seatbelt. Planes can fall thousands of feet, but typically withstand it no problem. It’s the people walking around or sitting unbuckled who crash into the ceilings busting their heads, or luggage falling, etc that causes all the damage. Turbulence is getting worse and worse around the globe… eventually, I bet, it will be outlawed to ever take your seatbelt off except for bathroom breaks.

I was in the bathroom on the plane when I heard an announcement about buckling up and staying in my seat. The door wasn't even closed all the way and when turbulence hit, the bathroom door swung open, causing 2 people to see me on the toilet. And continued to swing open for the next 4 minutes while the turbulence was happening. I've hated flying till this day.
“Since 1958, turbulence rose 40-90% over Europe and North America.” What does this mean? What are the “turbulence units” that you’re referencing? Severity? Frequency?
Michael Reavey It could be a rise in pilot reports on occurrences and levels of severity. Severity is not an exact science, however, so I suspect that a way of quantifying turbulence actually exists.
I was happy because of the fact that turbulence caused no plain crash for 40 years but then lmaooo the fact that the amount of turbulence rose up to 90% rly scared me
During turbulence nothing happens to the aircraft but some times there can be heavy influence inside the planes it can harm passengers by throwing them of their seats
+Gustav Ziirsen Jochumsen It was, it caused the pilots confusion so aggressively used the rudder (also poor training) as they were all over the place from the JAL which took off just before them
I’ve flown so much, but one time air turbulence was so bad I literally thought the plane was going to crash. Everybody on the plane was just scared shitless.
I just got off a very turbulent flight yesterday. I literally cried I was so scared. I can't stand turbulence! I just keep rerunning in my mind scenes from "Seconds from disaster" which I had got hooked on watching. I keep thinking I should take a sedative before I fly...but then I think if the plane DOES crash I would be too doped up to figure out how to flee the wreckage...should I survive the ditch to the earth at hundreds and hundreds of miles an hour... I often look around to see if anyone else is panicking...
I felt one of those 100 feet sudden drops lol. Was scary. People freaked out a little. I just closed my eyes and grabbed my seat. This gives me more peace now.

Michael Reavey It could be a rise in pilot reports on occurrences and levels of severity. Severity is not an exact science, however, so I suspect that a way of quantifying turbulence actually exists.
More reports doesn’t mean it’s happening more often, that’s a common error. Could very well be that people simply didn’t report it back in the day.
I'm here today cause from the news, someone just died from turbulence. 😮
*heart attack
This is really what I need right now
Um, this video made me feel worse about flying.. 😳✈️
I might be crazy but I rode an airplane today and the turbulence was putting me to sleep. I actually enjoyed it.
some1 just died from turbulence on a flight from london to Singapore you have to change this video title RIP to the person who died ❤
I was happy because of the fact that turbulence caused no plain crash for 40 years but then lmaooo the fact that the amount of turbulence rose up to 90% rly scared me
Nice explanation! Thank you for the video !!!!!!!!! ❤️🖖👍
I needed this after what I've been watching
Lmao same
During turbulence nothing happens to the aircraft but some times there can be heavy influence inside the planes it can harm passengers by throwing them of their seats
1:30
Not necessarily. It more comes down to spacing; each individual aircraft doesn’t always use a unique flight path.
Wake turbulence is very dangerous and has caused many fatal crashes before, that's why flights have 2 mins before takeoff
Zachariah Gaming Which crashes?
+Gustav Ziirsen Jochumsen Many but the most famous is the American Airlines flight 587 at JFK
Zachariah Gaming That was not turbulence.
+Gustav Ziirsen Jochumsen It was, it caused the pilots confusion so aggressively used the rudder (also poor training) as they were all over the place from the JAL which took off just before them
Zachariah Gaming Sooo turbulence was not the cause, but a contribution factor, the would not have crashed if the co pilot was probably trained.
I’ve flown so much, but one time air turbulence was so bad I literally thought the plane was going to crash. Everybody on the plane was just scared shitless.
Don't forget to pray
Ivan Putera Pratama but im atheist! :(
Annnnnnnnnnd it doesn’t work. :( even from before people prayed and they were led to their dooms.
@@IntelligentHorseworldofrandom at least they go to paradise
I do pray if there’s or not all away for safety and protection from God.
Thanks for this video... After a few hours of watching scary plane scenarios, this calmed me.
“Modern aircrafts can withstand severe turbulence”
*Meanwhile in Flight Simulators*
[Lands upside down]
I just got off a very turbulent flight yesterday.
Who's here after Singapore Airlines ??
Im on a flight right now that has had some turbulence and I am so thankful for this video.
The moment when we realise the presence of God
I felt one of those 100 feet sudden drops lol. Was scary. People freaked out a little. I just closed my eyes and grabbed my seat. This gives me more peace now.
And take care of the Earth 🙏 Thanks for the great video 😊
play this at 1.5x even 2x
oml thank u it sounds better now XD
This is my 'Up Next' video just after watching the ALK Airlines Turbulence one. Imagine being one of the passengers in that flight and seeing this just after what you've experienced.
I was taking a shit when we hit turbulence, I didn’t even wipe . I really hate flying but I try to suck it up and think positive.
Tell this to the people who bumped their heads in recent air Canada turbulence over Hawai
I remember flying from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and taking off experienced the worst turbulence EVER! I was like, welp, this is it 🤣
Thx for giving me advice next time I get on a plane..
this video’s title really age well , i came here after the singapore airlines incident which cause 1 death and many casualties
I mean yeah but that was due to people not wearing their seatbelt it's not like the plane fell out of the sky.
@@MrItsjustmeokOne death was an elderly who had a heart attack
@@InfinityZ808 Yeah elderly with a heart condition.
Good explanation, and I believe that what you said in this video is a true explanation. Thank you for the one who uploaded this video.
No big deal? One person just died on singapore airlines due to bad turbulence with several wounded
from a heart attack. the plane still landed safely.
Let's give a moment of silence to whoever was on the toilet during the turbulence...
Bruh the comments on this video are killing me 😂
2 people just died cause turbulence wtf do you mean cuh
No seatbelts broski facts
@@MrItsjustmeok so you don't use the bathroom on a 13 hr flight?????
@@kittykat61851 The bathroom only takes 5 minutes for 1 person but over 50 went flying. Sure there is still a risk albeit it a far smaller one but the 1 dude that died was 73 with a dodgy ticker.
check
Only 1 died, and it was an 73-year old man on blood thinners.
I really needed this lol
i experience daily turbulence.
my neighbours having sex.
