It's great to hear people talking about what's actually happening.
If only this effort could get the attention from mass media and sitting politicians that it warrants.

plenty of people know about climate change, humanity is just too simple to care about it.
i know we like to think of humans as these great clever things, that are above other animals, but we aren't.
we are pretty stupid apes, our average IQ isnt that high compared to the smartest animals,
(ours is about 80-90, beluga whales have an average iq of 200)
our level of empathy is pretty pitiful
(rats have much higher rates of resource sacrifice for others than we do)
and our abstract thinking capability's aren't that great
(elephants can predict rainfall direction, intensity and longevity days in advance)
the only thing that makes humans 'special' is bipedal balance, that's it.
we are one of the worst species to build a civilization, almost any other would have been better.
and now we are knowingly driving ourselves to extinction, which when you put everything into context, this is the ideal scenario.
the best case for humanity's future, is that we go extinct, and a different species becomes spacefaring

Doing less and protect global forests, ocean plankton, is action to absorb CO2, decrease atmospheric concentration to decrease greenhouse effects.

Similar to corporations that focus mostly on the upcoming quarter…there are no incentives for politicians whatsoever to think of anything further out than the next election. The can will keep getting kicked down the road until goes over the cliff.

What makes anyone think this is what is actually happening? People are just believers.

YES. but sadly no mention of one simple necessity. Humans must reduce the amount of energy they use. (and must reduce the consumption of the planet's resources)

How much heat is being emitted by global computer servers? How much is AI servers?

Thank you! Greatly relieved to be able to view and share this lecture with graphics! Another version is online that was recorded with the camera focused on the lecturers' faces exclusively. While I greatly admire our former VP's aquiline proboscis, I anticipate I will learn more while viewing the charts he referenced during his discussion of recent developments in tracking and pinpointing global polluting sources. This was an exciting and hopeful lecture, and I'm looking forward to being able to share it with others.
It's important that Americans understand that our efforts to counter the reckless polluting of our one and only home will not cease, merely because a cadre of insane billionaires paid to propagandise half the electorate and consequently bought themselves a White House. The other half, those of us who care about the health of the living planet are still here, and we will not surrender.

Great use of AI to help us identify and prioritize climate action. I recently completed training to become an electrification coach. We are going to residents in Massachusetts where we live to help upgrade their HVAC to cold climate heat pumps. So many things we can all do to help. Weatherize your home, replace your fossil fuel vehicles and appliances with electric equivalents. We can do this

Question: If methane is burned, as in a typical family's gas stove, does it still contribute to global warming?

    • @georgelinker2408
      @georgelinker2408 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

If methane is burned in a gas stove it will reduce the level of methane being emitted into the atmosphere. They simple want the end of all fuels used so they can sell solar and wind.

Electricity as a percentage of UK is 16% of total energy, renewables as a percentage of total energy are 2%. Talking about EV's stopping oil is an absolute joke and he's been doing this long enough to know, until he talks about an immediate reduction in overall consumption then he is wasting peoples time, a person in his position should be ashamed wasting peoples time while he knows nothing is changing and not asking for change
49.20 is a really stupid graphic, electricity generation of how much a ship can carry is just silly, it leaves out so much that it would be better not to be used
Jevons paradox seems to have escaped him. ev's that are half plastic and plastic comes from....oil., C'mon, he and the channel need to do much better than this..

If we need to better utilize Africa's solar energy potential, would Al Gore be OK with cooperating with China to make that happen? I ask this because China has already demonstrated a willingness to build infrastructure in underdeveloped countries, and because China is the world leader in solar electric infrastructure.

ah, this is where the media lied to you, and its one of the biggest criticisms of mainstream media.
the report that the media blew up about, with the 'failed predictions' was manipulated by their editors to lie to you.
papers that predict climate change, and overall global warming, have three different versions, there is the optimistic, the pessimistic, and the likely versions,
these are all displayed together, and represented by different coloured lines.
but the press (as they usually do) lied to you, they edited out the optimistic and likely versions of the graph, and only represented the pessimistic version.
people who denie climate change think that they are going against the system, but you aren't, you are a slave to it

You hecklers keep saying this. But it is based on a complete fabrication.
Please give one example of a prediction by an actual climate scientist of some catastrophe that was supposed to have happened by now, but didn't happen.

Yes the mutli-billion dollar, multi-national fossil fuel industry that the most powerful people in the world are embedded in is the underdog. The thousands of scientists from all over the world using independently sourced metrics are all in on a coordinated plot to deceive the human race for fun. Wake up. You are eating by the spoonful decades of coordinated propaganda from the most powerful, oppressive people in the world that continue to push humanity to the brink of disaster just so they can bathe in greed while they watch fools like you buy their bullshit and keep them rich.
