    I wasn't expecting the sand to work nearly that well. I'm impressed, I though it would have barely any effect at all.

      Howdy! 👋🏻 Yes, I was surprised how effective sand is! Mother Nature knows her stuff. This was a fun experiment! 😁👍🏻🪨💦

      Hey Andrea, good to hear from you! Yes, frosted glass is just about as pretty as the shiny stuff! The holidays were great, and I hope they also were for you! I got a nasty cold that wiped me out for almost a month, but it wasn't COVID. The funny thing is, I hadn't been sick in MANY years before that. I hope you're doing well! ROCK ON! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️

    Please tell me why you don’t use the ceramic? From what I read that is very important to keep the glass from breaking?

    • @CacklingChick
      @CacklingChick  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! I recall I didn't use it in this experiment as I wanted to see how the glass would look with just sand in one barrel and 60/90 grit in the other. As you saw, at least one marble had a decent chip in it, exposing the inner plastic marble swirl pattern. I am currently running my tumblers with rocks and do have ceramic media in them as I do find the value in using it as a cushion. Especially for items that bruise easily, like glass. I hope that helps explain. TUMBLE ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️ - Laura

    How would you get the glass to have more pits and less of a uniform smoothness? Maybe put a big rock in the barrel to beat up the glass?

    • @CacklingChick
      @CacklingChick  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree! Through in some rough rocks! That's a great idea!

      Michigan rocks did an experiment like that, he was able to get a bit of that effect by adding in gravel and using a large (12 lb) barrel to really beat the glass up.

      Yes, Rob is awesome!! I love his videos! I wish I had a 12 lb. barrel to try that!! TUMBLE ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨💦
