@@frequencymanipulator Here's one: Ripped our mainsail in half during a storm. Everyone scrambled on deck to tie it off on the boom just below a reefing point. Was tieing off a line when the captain gybed the boat and I went with boom hanging out over the ocean in heavy seas. I obviously lived, but I bent a stanchion on my trip overboard and still have a bum knee because of it. Howz that?

On the matter of seasickness, There are captains of large commercial ships suffer severe seasickness. You two seem to have really compatible goofyness :)
Its a pretty normal experience. I hear voices too when I've been isolated, solo, at sea. Your brain can't make sense of some of the noises it keeps hearing, so it assigns it attributes. For me its always the NOAA weather announcement voices. Weird.
Nice one. I sailed a friend's Folkboat out of Ali Wei when I lived in Hawaii. The fwd guy came out of a cracked swedge and the loose fitted mast fell over just off Diamond Head. A boat from the Outrigger Canoe Club pulled us off the reef we were pounding on. A coast guard helo hovered over with a rescue swimmer. We were OK and we were towed to the boatyard . My friend was grateful because his insurance was very lenient and he got a lot of extra repairs .
