Yours was the only video I could find with this model of Whirlpool. This was exactly the same symptoms and the same clogged motor as my mother’s dishwasher. It was actually way more time consuming just getting the dishwasher out because of a short, hard to reach water hose and equally frustrating hard-wired power cable. But once I finally got it out your clear instructions on removing and cleaning the motor were spot on! Saved me hundreds of dollars! Thank you, Mr. Stukov!
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I was seconds away from purchasing a new dishwasher when I found this tutorial. The circulation pump was dirty. My dishwasher is working beautifully now!!!!
This 100% was our issue. Thank you Sir!!! Dishwasher would fill and drain but there was no spraying at all. Took the unit out(had to disconnect hardwired electrical but it was easy) removed the gunk from that piece and it works!!! Thanks!!🎉
Man I love you! Been spending weeks on and off trying to find a video that will help fix my dishwasher. I had no clogs, I took out all the parts you said, just rinsed them off, and opened up the pump to make sure there was no clog and put it all back together and it works again!!! Before it was not even doing any wash cycle and it is brand new again I can't explain how grateful I am, thank you!
At least one person complained that the pump was clean and this video did not help. However, although the pump was clean in my case, this video was still extremely helpful. If you find the pump is clean, try hand turning it back and forth. I did this for the circulation pump and the drain pump. When I reassembled everything, it started right up. Maybe they had seized up or started to, and the pumps are designed not to turn under those circumstances. I'm sure an expert on electric motors would know the answer. Without this video, it's likely I would not have gotten that far, and would have been hand washing my dishes today.
Thanks for your video, my dishwasher wasn't spraying so I took it apart hoping that would be the fix. Except mine was not clogged. Perfectly clean. Pretty disappointed I was envisioning a costly repair. I pulled the magnet out of the pump and discovered that it had a huge split running the length of it. Quick jump to Amazon, 2 days later and 50 bucks poorer I had a new pump. It now works like new. You saved me at a minimum a service call.
excellent vid. took mine apart and checked this out, but it was clean as could be. kept searching YT and found one where the guy used a toilet plunger to clean the line from inside the cabinet. tried that and between ensuring the pump was clean and purging the line within the cabinet, works like a charm. Thanks! New sub.
I was able to backflush mine without pulling it out. I removed the filter, screen, and lower spray arm and washed all of them in the sink with hot water. I took a large funnel and a medium pan full of hot water and flushed down the outlet where the lower spray arm attaches. It took 3 tries but I got the junk out to where I could grab it with needle nose pliers. It seems a lot easier than this so I thought I'd post for others.
How did you open the propeller arms? They seem to be glued closed on mine (same model). And how did you close them after? They seem to be built to prevent people from opening and cleaning!
Unfortunately, there are some models of Whirlpool such as wdt750sahz0 (purchased in 2019) for which opening the motor doesn't work. The latching assembly seems much more bound and doesn't release by using the technique you show in the video. It doesnt have the small coupling that you pull before twisting it anti clockwise to open the motor.
I just use my iPhone before filming I Turned on flashlight on it. Here’s how: 1. Open the camera app and select video mode. Note: The flash does not work in pano or time-lapse modes. 2. Swipe up in the middle of the screen, away from the shutter button, and a hidden toolbar will slide up across the bottom bar, in place of the camera modes. 3. Tap the flash button (on the extreme left of the toolbar) and the flash modes will scroll out from the button. Tap “on.” The flash will turn on instantly, even when you aren’t recording, and will remain on until you switch camera modes or close the app.
Mine had the same problem..yet it was fairly clean..but there is a screen under the impellar Hydro turbine which requires cleaning with a tooth brush and dish soap..the area in which the fellow in this vid is pulling out debris is the impellar housing remove the 4 screws and you can gain access..simply unwind(unscrew) the impellar from the threaded shaft to expose the screen below..it's ridiculous how such a small part blockage can cause a complete shut down of the machine- my model is WDT750SAHZ0..note to remove the pump you must tip the pumps square side post out of it's rubber insulation slot at the bottom of the machine..turning it clock wise..I had a tough time turning it so used WD40 on the contact rim..also remove the interior wash screen first and also the pump power clip..the smaller other pump is for the machine draining only..push 3 of the mode buttons 3 times each consecutively a total of nine to enter the machine reset and cycle..the machine will cycle through for errors..and reset.
Ok so I did this and found a tiny clump of hair in the moter. Everything was really clean. I put it back together and now the damn thing won't stop running. Lol I'd rather that then not working at all. Any ideas?
I followed your instructions and took the piece out. It wasn’t even dirty but I cleaned it anyways. Now my washer is working great again. Thank you!
Yeah I'm in the process of diagnosing my washer problem this might be the cure
You are very welcome! Glad it worked out!

How do you disconnect the hard wire plug in order to pull dishwasher out?
Shut off the breaker, remove
Cover(if there is one) and disconnect the wires, take note where u pulled them from to reconnect afterwards
@OzzyKiley thanks so much! I did manage to find a video showing this after I commented. But again thanks!!
Did it smell like burning.
This video just saved me hundreds of dollars! Bless you sir
Another satisfied customer. Did exactly what the video said and it works like a champ!

Thank you so much, saved my dishwasher. Broken glass and lemonade seed in it! Now working as should again.
Thank you! Found a jammed motor. Turned it upside down and a small chip from a dish fell out. Working great now! Cheers!
Thanks for this. Saved me a bunch.
PS - make sure you seat the pump flush when twisting it back on…
Thank you sooo much for posting this! This was part of the problem with our dishwasher that needed fixed. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!! You saved us a lot of money! It was completely clogged!

Hey buddy come fix my dishwasher... Helpful video!!
Mine was also as clean as can be. No major gunk, just food particles that looked like sand. I flushed it out and it worked.
Thank you! Had a piece of plastic stuck in there worked perfectly after removing!
Thank you! Just did exactly that and now it’s back to normal
Thank you so much man, you saved me hundred(s) of dollars of reparation fees. There was a single strong fiber stuck in the pump motor
👍
Thanks so much. You helped me save 5-600 bucks! Same exact dishwasher
It's always great to hear when I can help someone out!
How did you get the washer arm apart?
I was able to backflush mine without pulling it out. I removed the filter, screen, and lower spray arm and washed all of them in the sink with hot water. Thanks for sharing your experience - sounds like a good alternative approach!
David could you show a demo, seem more simple for this female
Fixed! Hair around the motor. Used a little hook tool to clear it out. Hooked back up and cycle started! Yay
Thank you, Comrade! Nice video. I wish you showed how to disconnect it first.
Thanks for the video, my dishwasher is working like new!!!
Much appreciated! I will be giving this a shot as a regular maintenance.
You are the man. Perfect video, please carry on sir.
thanks for this. my motor was fairly clean, but had some glass causing the impeller to seize.
Thank you! Had a piece of plastic lodged in mine.

Hey I know it’s a late reply, but they are just click in, flat head screwdriver and should be able to let it open. Then click back together.
I think they are glued I opened mines and it won’t close now
Omg thank you so much!!! I was about to throw my dishwasher and this video saved us a good amount of money and time
This video saved me so much money thank you 👍
Very helpful. Thank you. You saved me money
Had some gunk and chunks of plastic in my propeller. Thanks for the video..
Glad to help
Simple and excellent! Thank you!
Hey thanks! This might be my portable Whirlpool dishwashers problem
Fingers crossed it works out for you!
This worked for me! 🎉 Thank-you 😊
Awesome! Glad it helped you 😊
Nice and to the point! thank you sir!
Thanks man. Very good instructions
No problem!

100% Fixed our dishwasher.
How did you have light in there? I tried to 'wash' my GoPro, but it's completely dark in there and nothing can be seen
I just use my iPhone before filming I Turned on flashlight on it.
Here’s how:
1. Open the camera app and select video mode. Note: The flash does not work in pano or time-lapse modes.

U can also try flipping the door switch so the machine detects the door is closed and partially open it to see inside
You put IPHONE inside .....Good idea
Mine was 100% cleaned but I guess removing everything and putting it back together brought it back to life
How do you "extract your dishwasher" so you can get to the motor ?
Rock star. Very resourceful. My turn.
Wow! Great video! Thank you

The motor for latest model will not come out like the way he mentioned you need to take whole assembly out from inside then u can remove the motor
THANK YOU.
You're welcome, hope it helps!
Thank you for you video
excellent, thank you
Mine was clean as well but can't get it back on properly so it doesn't leak
I had to replace the rubber seal/gasket on mine.
spray arm doesn't come apart for me :( Dishlex
thank you sir!
After 4 tries I can’t find the clamp. Ugh
Thanks man
Now you know not to put dishes that have debris into the dishwasher 👍
Food waste goes into the trash not in dishwasher !!
Wrong
I can't get get the pump disconnected. Why the hell was yours so easy? 😂
Bingo!
Как ты засунул туда айфон?
Nothing was clogged looked clean inside did not help at all
Probably your inlet valve
Guess you need to actually DIAGNOSE IT YOURSELF. The guy does a helpful video and you give him crap for it
Mine was clean too but magnet was cracked when I pulled it out, the propeller didn’t spin freely
@@Max-zz3ttwhat do you mean it didn’t spin freely
Awesome video, I like the phone in dishwasher.
