1.18 - 1.24 was responsible for me joining Aikido. I was ten years old when I saw that clip. It still sends shivers down me every time I see it. I have never seen anyone like him.

People here forget that any martial art event or movie-making are for the most part choreographed;especially hollywood nonsense. It does seem that most youtuber's are of the mainstream crowd coming to blindly worship whatever and whomever is on here. You are all sadly mistakened and need a rude awakening, because for too long you have you slept for many years..in most matters.
I'm qualified and i saw him in a seminary in Paris in 2000: he clearly have better to do now than teaching aikido. That's not to be rude, but only the truth.
The French Aikidoka Christian Tissier(8th degree Black Belt Aikido) said in an interview that Seagal is not a great Aikido guy and that he cheated regarding his rank.
There's a lot of politics in the Aikido world, especially when it comes to Aikikai's dislike of Tenshin Style aikido. Seagal's skills are pretty damn high level; you can see it in almost all of his students, that's the mark of a good teacher. Seagal's style is way more realistic and practical than most of the other schools.
Again, you can see the high skill standard that Seagal Black Belts have. Larry Reynosa, Matsuoka Sensei, Craig Dunn, Angulo Sensei, Calderon Sensei, Luis Santos, Lenny Sly, etc. all of them have a high level of skills.
Tissier practice a full bulshit aikido and it's that why he talk so bad about seagal's aikido practice
He used to be a master...but now that he's dreaming to be a Lama he really got poor skills in aikido :(
He who has recently seen him in a dojo should agree that he really need to practice...
