I've had chickens all my life. The Brahma's temperment is unique from the day they hatch. Never seen such a curious, intelligent, and friendly breed. It's almost dog like and seem to prefer the company of humans over other birds. All my Brahma's have been great with kids. Never seen them fight or bother anyone, not even my silkies. No matter where they're at, they come running as soon as they see me, and never leave my side as I do chores. We have a lot of red tailed hawks in our area, yet I've never lost one to them... probably due to their size, idk. They're the only ones I can free range. The hens do take longer to start laying, but they sure make up for it once they get going. Most eggs are so large, I can't close the lid on the egg carton. Plus, they lay extremely well all winter without adding an extra light source so you don't have to worry about preserving eggs for Winter. Don't keep them cooped up when it snows because they love it. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this breed.
I have one and she was a very petite chick surprising growth at 6mo but very gentle not interested in the other birds comes to her name and likes being held
My first time having them,, lloovveeee them so much,, I believe we had them when I was a kid on the farm, 50s & 60s,, mine are the black/white, I only bought 2 , wish I had gotten more, they are 6 months now
I live in the countryside, I've always raised chickens of various kinds, but the brama attracted me the most and I constantly raise them in many colors
haha, same here, I ended up with a dark brahma rooster that was supposed to be a hen and it will pretty much attack anything and anyone (but not me) then get blown over by a gust of wind. Absolutely hilarious. I try to hug him but he's not keen on bro-love and he'll only sit on my lap if I have carne asada tacos, then he's my best bud.
Thank you for the info! I just got my first baby light brahma a few days ago! It was the last one left at my local feed store so I'm raising as an indoor pet along with my adult disabled pet Easter Egger. I love this baby so much!!!!!! Im praying it's a girl!!!!
Thank you Sir for sharing information about Brahma chickens, there are only few of them in our place but I was not interested in them but after I watch your video, I'm now beginning to like them.
❤defenetly a great breed I’ve owned Brahma’s for 7-8 years they are lovable.. they get so tame I had one that used to run across the yard and jump on my knee for a cuddle and a little ear rubbing.. she was sadly killed by a fox 2 years ago but since i introduced a large rooster aka le cock grand. I’ve seen him face down things like hawks.. rats 😅 I think the security of his lady’s is his priority number one.. one down side they eat dubbel what a regular breed eat’s.
Brahma chicks are indeed known for their super friendly and curious nature, so it's no surprise yours is providing some entertainment! Enjoy all the fun moments with your fluffy companion.
Depends on where you get them, and if it's a female vs a male, plus how old they are. You can get chicks for pretty cheap in most places, a handful of a dollars, really. The older they are, the more they will cost in terms of ability to lay, and also the health and quality of the chicken itself. You can pay anywhere from 3 to 20 dollars, or upwards of 50 in some places.
I love your bird, do you sell them and if yes what could be the cost of a pair right now? I. I'm a Liberian live in Liberia can you transport them to me if you decide to sell them to me if I could pay for their transportation?
I live in san antonio texas. Ibought my brahma chicks from my local feed store ...they sell chicks turkeys guineas assorted varieties every spring...they cost 2.50 and 3.00 each...i can send you their address if you want or better yet...the address and names of some reliable hatcheries who ship everywhere.... Send me your number address or whatever.....o K.

Good to know. They're so freaking big they can afford to be friendly, I think.

I got a Brahma rooster without knowing how big he is. He’ll fight a hawk but will trip over his own feet 🤦🏾♀️

It flows through Tibet (China), Northeastern India, and Bangladesh.
I think y'all need at least one Brahma.😊
Lol, goats don't eat grain? That is one hundred percent inaccurate! I've had goats for years and they most certainly DO eat grain. 😂
Can we miss our Brahman with local chicken
Are brahmas good for watching over the flock?
How much are they
