    What a sweet machine! This could have been titled "Getting to know the 1950 Bonanza". May I say that this may well be the best video of it's kind I've ever seen. We get to see the start-up procedure; a good look at the panel; the trip plan on your EFB (Foreflight?); you let us actually hear the engine; and you toss in some humor for good measure. No criticism whatsoever, but seeing how you set up your landing would have been a bonus. I hope you'll do another soon, and explain how you go about keeping your bird in such pristine condition. e.g. what do you use on your panel to keep it looking like new? Any maintenance tips you'd care to share? Do you have any mogas available there? Some say it works wonders for keeping the cylinders clean. 😊

    Considering purchasing a 50’s model V Tail. I have a lot of question if you have time to discuss.

    Great video. What iPad mount are you using? Been looking for one for my 1947 Model 35. Thanks for making this.

    Hey John, great video! How much cutting of the panel was required to get the G5 in there?

      @johnsmathers4836  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Geoff,
      Thanks! Not very much, a couple half moon shaped cutouts of the floating panel behind the fixed panel were necessary to allow proper clearance in case of turbulence. The G5 itself was mounted to the fixed “outer” panel and not the “ floating” panel like all of the other instruments

    What is your reason for letting the engine run right on up to 1400 RPM, especially with a cold start. I've instructed on both Bonanzas and Barons since the mid 70's and have owned and operated an early model Bonanza for over 26 years and find that with a careful engine start one can tickle the big Continental up to 800 to 900 RPM with the initial start where it idles just fine. It is easier on the engine, it is thoughtful to those who might be parked behind you, and it doesn't cause excessive leading edge abrasion to the prop blades. I see too many Bonanza and Baron "drivers" use excessive RPM on the ground and have never been able to figure it out. Thank you. Mike Kelly "Old School Aviator and CFI"

    By the cruise RPM do you have a 205?

      Hi, This engine is the E-225 model

      @@johnsmathers4836 Hi John, Thanks. My dad and I had a 47 Navion that had a 205 and we cruised it at 2050RPM and during overhaul we made it a 225 and it seems to me we cruised it at 2200. Also my dad had a C model Bonanza when I was a kid and he would swing the yoke over and let me fly. Great memories for sure. I've always loved the old Bonanza. You have a beautiful one.

      That’s very cool! Flying memories are the best. Growing up my dad always talked about Bonanzas I have always wanted one, it’s my dream plane. You may find it interesting the E-225 currently in my plane was actually out of a Navion
