Jetstream Sam, maybe, bit definitely not Vergil. Asura and Yasha are more frienemies/rivals that have opposing views on how to save Earth and its inhabitants from the Gohma. Vergil doesn't give a damn about anything but power for his own self-preservation and egotism, because he believes down to his very core that power, and the pursuit of that power, is the only thing that actually matters in the world. Likewise, the only reason he really bothers with Dante is because he sees defeating Dante, who has defeated him on several occasions throughout the DmC franchise, as a way of showing that he has both grown stronger, and is the strongest, since Dante has ultimately defeated several other major demons in the DmC world, including Demon King Mundus.

long tied hair, fighting with mc despite not being on equal levels yet still holding his own, japanese cowboy(as opposed to sam's western samurai(that and samurais and cowboys are pretty much the same)), fighting for something they thought was right to the point they lost themself, he pretty much had the same realization as sam when sam met raiden (sam's "two years i've been working towards this, and on the last day blondie has me doubting the whole thing" is like yasha fighting for deus the whole time but asura's return making him rethink things), sam gave his sword to raiden and yasha gave his mantra to asura, blue vs red, they're absolutely awesome, and they're both the best characters.

I would love so much to see this game re-released today, seeing as it was super ahead of its time in retrospect. I don’t know which MGR song fits this fight better, Only Thing I Know For Real or It Has to Be This Way

Jetstream Sam's theme actually works pretty well with Yasha's. They both kinda have a western vibe to them, but I feel like Yasha's theme provides good support to Sam's while in the background
