One of the only videos where we see how to properly use the chains once the trunk is brought against the winch apron. Do not leave the cable under tension during transport. Well explained !!👍👍
We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our product and are incredibly grateful for the video you created! Your support and enthusiasm mean the world to us. It's customers like you who make our work so rewarding. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with others.
Any idea when you will have more in stock? I would be interested in being placed on a waiting list. Great review! I just purchased 36 acres and have so much clean up to do. This is going to be such a highly utilized tool.
You are going to need another pole barn just for all your tractors and attachments. 😂. That is really a nice piece of equipment for what you are trying to do with your wood processing
Hi Andrew, that skidding winch sure looks like it will save your back. Your getting a nice supply of back saving tools lined up, I love what you come up with. You make everything so interesting. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Absolutely will pay for itself quickly! That one is very reasonably priced compared to others! I can't imagine how much more wood you'll be able to recover now! I'm excited to see you put it to work, Andrew!
That will pay for itself many times over. All of those trees that were once inaccessible are now easily within reach. Carry a separate 100’ of cable or rope extension and you now have a full 100 yards of reach! Great purchase!
The lower pin where you said was a place for a trailer hitch I believe is the anchor pin for your winch cable when you double the cable with snatch block for double the pulling power, at least thats what I use mine for on my Hudson.
I do like the way it lifts the log up at the tractor end to keep the log from digging in the dirt. I wish Amazon would get their shipping together, that's a mess.
@@TKCL Amazon will tell , for instance, your package will arrive Thursday and it's Monday and you expect it Thursday as they use to be spot on and it may not arrive until a couple of days later. Your waiting on a part to repair something and it doesn't come when told.
Oh you did get a skidder, good ! I didn't know they made it an attachment for your tractor. That's much better than trying to tow with your side by side.
Not sure if it was mentioned by anyone else, but if you pick up 2 or 3 more chains, you can draw as many logs to the board as your tractor can handle, leaving them choked and then hooked to the board, then lift and drag several logs at once. You have a great tool there, might as well get the most out of it.
You might look at something that goes on the end of the log when you pull them through the woods. It's like a little sled for the nose of the log. I think it might be called a shoe or something, but it helps the log slide through the forest floor. Excellent job Andrew! 👑
You need to use some type of a "winch damper" to put mid way on the cable while you winch the log in. If that cable breaks, it will whip around and could definitely hurt someone. Need tool for logging.
I could have used that years ago. I used to pull around telephone poles for parking and crowd control around a 50-acre property with a front-end loader. The longer the chain was, the safer it was to travel, until the pole dug into the ground. The shorter chain gave much better control but sacrificed safety. Why was there a chain wrapped around the PTO shaft?
Wow. If that was half the price, other models must have been really expensive, plus shipping. I think it is going to be invaluable to you in future years as well. It is money well spent.
If something would to fail while pulling a log with the winch( under a lot of tension ) do you think that gate/ fence would stop the choker chain from going through and hitting the tractor glass ? Looks like it’s very small in diameter. I know some of those logs can be very heavy .
I personally don't think there is enough stretch/power in this cable/winch to break or spring back. I'd be far more concerned about limbs and other projectiles snapping back.
That's pretty darn nifty - you might have caused a run on the company...the link says they are completely out of stock. Really anxious to see the "in the woods action"! Great purchase young man🙂💜💜💜
When I first saw all the down trees on your property, I knew you need a skidder but all the ones I remember from home in Oregon are monsters that stomp through the forest with no regard for the ground impact.
Wondered what the hp of your tractor is. Mine is a 75 hp with 61 hp pto and cat 2 hitch, but i believe it is convertible to cat 1 with bushings. Specs say thiswinch is for 30-50 hp cat 1, but i wonder if it would work with my tractor. I've got a lot of vertical land on my woodlot and this sounds like a lifesaver.
Has your winch seized up at the clutch yet? This is my second winch that won’t release the clutch after about 10 pulls. They replaced the first winch now the second is doing the same.
Not at all, zero issues and I've used it a lot. Are you sure the spool lock isn't engaging? What about the tension set screw? You have to adjust that before initial use and set it.
@@TKCL no it’s a clutch issue. I actually just pulled it apart today and it’s all rusted and seized. Same as the first one. Pull about 10 logs then it starts seizing up. It wasn’t lubed during manufacturing.
Hi, I’m new to your channel. Enjoy your content. Questions: I’m curious about the amount of firewood you make. I saw where you have many stacks/piles of firewood. Do y’all go through that much firewood in your fire pit on your porch each winter? Do you also sell firewood? Just wondering if that’s a lucrative side business for all of the expensive equipment and hard labor. Just generally curious. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the channel. We burn about 4-5 cords a year. Everything else will be processed for next year to sell and for our needs. You need high volume sales to make firewood worthwhile as a business, it's a lot of work for decent money. With that said there is other ways to turn wood into something more profitable. I'll be showing a lot of that on the channel this winter.
@JanieWilson-mo1zb 11 minutes ago Hi…. Great videos of this winch. I do have a question or 2….. since you’ve have it for a while, would you change anything about it and have you hook up to anything that it wouldn’t pull? I’m real close to pulling the trigger on one of these and am just doing my due diligence on getting info. Thanks and if you’d want to talk on the phone about it then that’d be great. I’m in south east Ohio and live on 40 acres and burn around 10 cords a year in my hardy stove for the last 20 years and there are always trees I just can’t get to because of the terrain….. this seems like it’d work awesome for me at an unbelievable price.
One of the only videos where we see how to properly use the chains once the trunk is brought against the winch apron. Do not leave the cable under tension during transport. Well explained !!👍👍
Correct, even though my spool has a lock, no need in putting that stress on the bearings, cable and spool lock.
We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our product and are incredibly grateful for the video you created! Your support and enthusiasm mean the world to us. It's customers like you who make our work so rewarding. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with others.

It's an awesome price, I caught it on sale for less a month ago too. I don't know how it's at that price, but I'm happy.
Your going to love that new tool. Makes easy work of moving logs
I can see this becoming my favorite attachment.
Look forward to see it in action in the woods!
Coming soon
That's awesome really enjoyed taking to you and wife today
Very happy to have met you and your family, thanks for stopping by and saying hello.
Hi, Andrew! You definitely need this!! Congratulations!!!!😊
It's awesome!
That winch will help you a lot on your property. 🤠
hi there i think you will really like that tool . as smart as you are you will find it handy for alot more then just pulling logs , . best to all john
Yes sir I agree, my mind has been thinking about the possibilities. Take care Mr John.
Great piece of equipment will definitely save your back and be worth every penny!
Yes it will
Another great tool addition to the property. Great video. Great information for someone that needs a piece of equipment like this.
It's going to be one of my favorite attachments.
Forestry winch is one of my most used tools. You won’t regret this purchase.
I think it will be one of my favorite attachments
Just what you needed Andrew.
I think so too
Good evening. Nice unit. Yet another side hustle lol. Be careful, might turn into another job.
Im sure it'll be a fine addition.
Be safe everybody.
Everything has turned into a job 🤣
Good day to all. Nice.
Good night sir!
That is a very cool skidding winch. I hadn’t heard of this company either. This will totally make it easier to get those trees out of the woods.
Yes it will and safer too.

Good idea, I actually watched a Hudson demo video and I believe the owner mentioned it was for a trailer. But no reason it can't be multi purpose.
yes sir, another heck of a unit!
It's amazing!
That's a nice addition to the homestead. I hope TMG appreciates your honest review and decides to sponsor you for a sawmill or the like😁😉
That would be awesome!
it looks like ya'll can pull some logs out of the woods and have fun.
I think so now!
I need one so bad 😬
Yes you do!

Agreed, but because this has one choker grab, I'll need extra chains with chain grab hooks. That's easily resolved.
You might look at something that goes on the end of the log when you pull them through the woods. It's like a little sled for the nose of the log. I think it might be called a shoe or something, but it helps the log slide through the forest floor. Excellent job Andrew! 👑

Now you may need to get a breakaway snatch block for pulling around obstacles. Igland has one you might be interested in.
I was very interested in one until I seen the prices 🫤. I'll keep watching ebay for one.
Sweet attachment
It is!
That's an awesome piece of equipment I've been looking at those for awhile now and haven't been able to justify the price for no more than what I do.
I understand, me either. But when I seen the price of this one I was sold!
@TKCL for as much as you got going on between your place and parents that's easy to justify. That winch will do you alot of good
Nice video God bless
Thank you for watching, God bless!
👍 nice
Nice. I knew it 😆. Should help you out a lot with the logs
You nailed it!
Wow that kool I like that
I love it!
Great!!! Is it going to tear the lawn more than if you carried the logs with tractor?
The woods yes, not the lawn. I can pick the logs up once I get them out of the trees.
That keeps the pto safety shield from spinning with the shaft. It's for safety.
Am I correct, in assuming, this wench assembly will mount to my ‘quick connect’?
It does not, the top pin is very high.
Looks great. Is there something that can be placed under the end of the log so it won't dig into your grass etc?
I'm working on it 😉
Wow. If that was half the price, other models must have been really expensive, plus shipping. I think it is going to be invaluable to you in future years as well. It is money well spent.
Yes, some models I looked at were $7-10k,way out of my budget.

When I first saw all the down trees on your property, I knew you need a skidder but all the ones I remember from home in Oregon are monsters that stomp through the forest with no regard for the ground impact.
We have those here too.
International paper just shut down part of its factory here in West Florida.
Wow, what's going on? Seems like they know something is up in the economy. I'm afraid of what's coming.
Never knew there was such things. We always used 4 wheelers and log chains. Much needed in your case but try not to work to hard!
The things people come up with is amazing!

You'll be fine, just don't add unnecessary pressure to the clutch via the hand pressure handle. My tractor is 66hp and 52 pto.
Here it is in use this past week. th-cam.com/video/L6DtmSFSpfk/w-d-xo.html
When skid marks are a good thing... 🙂
🤣
Why do you have a chain on your PTO shaft?
You want the protective cover stationary and not spinning to grab anything.
It looks like a life saving tool for ya.
Back saver for sure!
Has your winch seized up at the clutch yet?

Kelleyscountry@gmail.com for photos. Do you let yours sit in the rain or snow? Mine stays under a covered barn.
@@TKCL it’s in a barn now but a summer outside shouldn’t have ruined a brand new logging winch.
I cant see your tractor model. Is it 4066R? If not would this winch fit on this model and does it have to be standard ( manual) or hydrostatic?
It is a 4066r and will work on any pto. I even tested this winch on a smaller 24hp tractor and it did great.
Andrew will that attachment work on Tiffany’s tractor?
No reason it shouldn't, I'm going to test that.
Whats with that dog chain flopping around the PTO?
That chain must be latched onto something to keep the safety shroud stationary.
@@TKCL but its turning isnt it? how bizarre
Nope, the safety shield is stationary around the spinning shaft on the inside.

I own their big blue one, use it all the time.
This Winch has more than 1 Speed? Because the showing speed it’s WAY to fast in the Forest, where you always have to fiddle trough standing Trees!!
You change the speed by revving the tractor up or down. You can also feather the clutch.
