I’ve had a Wallenstein for a few years. Love it. I quickly found that dragging logs with the cable wrapped around the log is pretty tough on the first few feet of the cable. I use choker chains on all logs.
Wallenstein is WAY to expensive !!! There are winches that are made just as well and cost a $1,000 to $1,500 less. Like Igland from Finland which I have and makes my neighbor jealous as the blazes because he spent a $1,200 more for the same size winch and mine performs just as good if not better than his. Wallenstein is WAY to expensive !!!

Man I’m sure tempted to get a skidding winch but the dirt the mill has to cut through thus dulling teeth quicker vs a log arch
