Yes, I had posted the Alistair Sim version and had quite a few comments saying the George C. Scott version was better, so I decided since it’s still the Holiday season, might just as well upload it as well.:)
@@ONE-OF-THREE This version is not better, its good but Alistair Sims version is definitely the best. The scene with his housekeeper for instance is so heart warming, and his humble apology to his nephews wife too, its not quite as moving in this version in my opinion.
@@ONE-OF-THREE. You can count me as among those who think this is the best version. Since Lawrence Olivier never played the role (at least on screen), you aren’t going to find a better actor to play Scrooge than George C Scott. Of course we all have our favorites, which just shows the lasting impact of this story, and I can’t find any fault in those preferring a different version. In the end, it’s the story of redemption that is most important. Thank you for sharing this video. It’s much appreciated.
Such a wonderful movie! I have a little Christmas tradition where every year around this time I read my old Christmas Carol book by Charles Dickens..to re-kindle my gloomy spirit! Happy Holidays!
I do love ❤ THE Scrooge by one of my favorite Writers Charles Dickins Scrooge ❤ has been played by one of my favorite ScreenLegent Charles C Scott ❤ is absolutely one of the Charls Dickins Scrooge IS A GREAT MASTER PIECE ❤ I WATCHED THE SCROOGE FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS MANY TIMES ❤❤❤1:41:08 TIMES ⏲ ❤❤ Merry Christmas to Gorge C Scott And all the players in Scrooge AND to late Charles Dickins in HEAVEN AMEN 🙏 🙌 Khadijeh
My issue with the Scott version is that the book, per Dicken's introduction, is a story that is supposed the be light hearted and funny. This really isn't- it is played as a more typical Dicken's grim drama. Also, we should see Scrooge begin to change throughout the story. Scott remains fairly contrary through most of his interactions with the spirits. His conversion seems forced, and there is none of the over the top hilarity that you see in the '51 Sim version, which to me is still the best.
I do enjoy how George Scott played this role. He made this another favorite of mine.

Lighthearted? A man has a sad backstory and says that children and poor are better off dying, and the story is lighthearted?
Shut up
Couldn't get past the first ghost part, the acting is bl00dy terrible in this version. Nothing holds up to Alistair Simm's 1951 version.
