Home Depot sells this weatherstripping that would work perfect in between the cab in the bed of the truck instead of that inner tube. I would say that it's industrial-strength. I've used it to put underneath the garage door instead of the Rubber seal to keep out mice and it has worked perfectly.
The same stuff we call armaflex over here? No clue if that's a brand name. Like neoprene with sticky-tape on one side in sheets or on a roll? Insulated a whole vw bus with it once to make it "alps ready" back decades ago ;) Worked fine.
Flame King came out with a new propane heater, similar to the Mr. Heater Buddy heater but the big difference is this new heater has a thermostat built in. As I'm sure you have experienced the buddy heater even on low can smoke you out of the back of the truck unless its really cold out. Would be interesting to see you try that new heater in the back of the truck and see how it works with the thermostat turning the heater off and on throughout the night. I think it could be a game changer for those looking for heat in small spaces and make for a neat episode of your channel.

Personally I love the ice camping fishing videos. And great work on your whole production from your mech to your new house and property. You are a a well balanced young man.
Always thought the bike tire was a great idea but i think it could be improved with Armaflex (the stuff wrapped around waterlines to keep them from freezing). I'd get some 2mm and 5mm rolls and put the 2mm beween the gap on both sides. Like a as-wide-as-the-roll is window-frame all around. Then build a trench of sorts for the tire with the 6mm armaflex so it can never touch metal or slip out yet fully seals the gap. Even if only lightly inflated. The Armaflex would also do wonders on the blinds and gaps in the back-flap. It's pretty good insulation Should be good to -40C at least. Also makes for a mean makeshift seat cushion that also insulted from the ground. Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to see some truck bed camper mods to make your winter camping more comfortable, insulation, heat, etc. Maybe build out the truck for some time at the new house (massive congratulations by the way) and then take it on a road trip either somewhere cold to test the new modifications or just say screw it and head south for a week to warmer weather. No matter what, keep on truckin!
A Jackery 1000 would power a typical electric blanket all night long. You don’t seem to have a shortage of those Jackerys! Anyways, I spent many a night in the unheated upstairs bedroom of a northern Missouri farmhouse with only an electric blanket over another blanket and sheet for warmth. Most amazing sleep! Getting out from underneath my warm cocoon every morning was pure shock!
Hey Dude shoes are pretty easy to put on and take off. Super comfy. Also… check out the “truk boot” to go in between the cab and the topper. I picked mine up at Surburban toppers when I got my topper in Colorado.

Tailgate not opening is a really simple fix, you just have to remove the stainless cover you put on and then the panel exposing the latch mechanism. There you will find some plastic green adjustment tabs. (:
Hey Mav, I also live in Minnesota and camp in the winter. Have you ever tried using an electric blanket in your truck with your power station? If not, give it a try...life saver! Keep doing what you do!
Holy Hannah Mav that truck really sucks fuel as bad as my old 4.6 F-150 did. My newer 2.7 twin turbo uses less the half with way more power. Good thing your channel is doing so well. Really like the winter camping the best.
Those eco turbos in Ford trucks are good for 90k miles and then blow out. Leaving you to spend thousands at the dealer. Turbos don’t belong on an F-150. It’s a gasser, not a diesel. Also, your truck has 350HP topped out, wouldn’t consider that “way more power” than that of an older f-150
@@HF1.0 My old 4.6 had about 225 hp. Yea way more power than that. Wouldn’t pull a sick hooker off of a toilet. All the research says the 2.7’s are good for around 200k. I won’t own it near that long. Someone else’s problem.

I know you enjoy sleeping in your truck during winter. I sleep in my van when it was 20 degrees outside even snowing. I learned trick is put extra thick blanket as blanket tent to cover my bed only and i slept all night warm. It actually worked cuz your body still makes heat. Small space help keep you heat up. Just a tip. Keep trucking 🤙🏻 I used king size fannel with wool and it cover all my bed. I used other blanket on the wall.

A good winter tip is to wipe wd40 on door seals so you can open doors.

Then if you're scared use WD40 petroleum jelly will work as well it works great on commercial dive gear

Tailgate not opening is a really simple fix, you just have to remove the stainless cover you put on and then the panel exposing the latch mechanism. There you will find some plastic green adjustment tabs. (:
And until you do what Wolf said, if you push on it when you pull the handle it will probably work for you.
Hey Mav, I also live in Minnesota and camp in the winter. Have you ever tried using an electric blanket in your truck with your power station? If not, give it a try...life saver! Keep doing what you do!

Holy Hannah Mav that truck really sucks fuel as bad as my old 4.6 F-150 did. My newer 2.7 twin turbo uses less the half with way more power. Good thing your channel is doing so well. Really like the winter camping the best.
Those eco turbos in Ford trucks are good for 90k miles and then blow out. Leaving you to spend thousands at the dealer. Turbos don’t belong on an F-150. It’s a gasser, not a diesel. Also, your truck has 350HP topped out, wouldn’t consider that “way more power” than that of an older f-150
@@HF1.0 My old 4.6 had about 225 hp. Yea way more power than that. Wouldn’t pull a sick hooker off of a toilet. All the research says the 2.7’s are good for around 200k. I won’t own it near that long. Someone else’s problem.

I know you enjoy sleeping in your truck during winter. I sleep in my van when it was 20 degrees outside even snowing. I learned trick is put extra thick blanket as blanket tent to cover my bed only and i slept all night warm. It actually worked cuz your body still makes heat. Small space help keep you heat up. Just a tip. Keep trucking 🤙🏻
I used king size fannel with wool and it cover all my bed. I used other blanket on the wall.
