Yes.... BUTTTT! please read my review on your ""Quick and Dirty CIRCLE" video for more specifics on this. "Target audience match" IS... key! If you're going to title videos as "easy" on any level even if you're not using the exact word "easy" in the title itself, then be sure the subject matter fits the spirit and intent of the title. For the audience that is searching for "easy" or (quick and dirty), stuff, dumb it down.. A LOT! Otherwise you're drawing in an audience looking for one thing, while you're delivering on a whole other level they are not ready for... i.e. poor target audience match. (my experience with your "quick and Dirty Circles" is prime example). The potential to be a successful DVR resource is there... beginner, amateur, professional.... its there, title the videos accordingly.😉 Hope that helps
This was one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. You explained everything well, it was easy to follow along and, most importantly, my results matched yours! Thank you so much for making this!
A year later and this is still the easiest dirty circle I've come across. Thank you so much for the tutorial! It saves me so much time and energy which, as I'm disabled, means a whole lot!
@@redbeardengineered I used the nodes in the end, some trial and error got me there. Be cool to have a home version which has less features and just the basics which most likely 95% of TH-camrs would be happy with
It's just extraordinary that DaVinci Resolve has no animations (I used them a lot in Camtasia), so this slick work-around is invaluable. Thanks so much.
This software utterly fails at doing simple things such as annotations (they are non existent). It's annoying to have to create every single asset, especially something as common as shape primitives. But thanks for showing this tip. Amazing at how much effort has to go in to creating a simple circle though lol. Images are another option, however I feel this method you are showing will give crisp results (since we are working with vector graphics).
I agree, I'm just trying to make a quick instructional video and would like to circle a few things, and OMFG this is 100x more complicated than it needs to be.
Made this video years ago... so my memory isn't perfect, but I think you can change the position of this circle just like any other item in DR. Check the potation options in the top right of your screen
Ok. Even thought the fusion tab is very complicated and I didnt understand s***, it still seems simpler than this. Im going back to another fusion tutorial. Also, mindblowing that DR wont have a simple drag and drop circle shape
Why not just add a round shape and uncheck "enable background". takes only a few clicks. Even if you do it in Fusion page, it's still simpler than your method.
🤷♂As much as I want to praise this video, partially yes, sadly I can not! Your video description "presents" the idea of a circle being "easy", as you gloss over all the nuances that are not so easy to most, so that it does "appear" easy. It's those nuances of DVR such as compound clips etc, that kill your video here. You are NOT delivering the value that your subject title eludes us to believe, hence the lack of "till the end" viewership. If you slowed down a bit to explain... describe... walk us through... THAT would then hold true to your intent of this video, taking us along the journey that you obviously want to share, fulfilling on your intent of "value delivered", which would result in many more views, likes, subscribes, etc! keeping your audience captive full length.
@@redbeardengineered you cant resize the image? Why wouldnt you just make a shape in Photoshop and import it? Making solutions convoluted doesn't make them better solutions.
I'm thinking of doing some more Davinci Resolve tutorials... what do yall think?
the more the better
Yes please. This feature was so annoying to work-around. Thanks for the tutorial!
Please do. Yours is a direct and easy form of instruction to listen to vs others. Good format.

THANK YOU! clear, to the point, under 5 minutes. The best.
Glad it helped!
great unless you want a green circle. Why is it so insanely difficult to just draw a circle on such a great program as DR?
Gosh, IDK... would be nice to have some basic shapes
@@redbeardengineered I used the nodes in the end, some trial and error got me there. Be cool to have a home version which has less features and just the basics which most likely 95% of TH-camrs would be happy with
Such a great tutorial, did exactly what I was wanting and was super easy to follow along as you did it. THANK YOU!
Glad it helped!
3 days of google to find how to make a circle in Davinci... you the man :)

lol, I love DR, but it would be nice to be able to draw some circles.

Got it to work on my Windows Laptop a while ago

Hmmm, I don't know about iPads, but the app is pretty powerful. Maybe someone on the forum can help?
how do i chanfge the position of the circle

@@redbeardengineered yea i found out how to do it by myself already but still huge thanks for responding your video was great

You're welcome!

Most welcome!
perfect thank you

good stuff buddy
Glad you enjoyed; cheers
honest question: why not do this in fusion? it takes 5 seconds
Lots of places to do it for sure! Just wanted to show a DR option
Ok. Even thought the fusion tab is very complicated and I didnt understand s***, it still seems simpler than this. Im going back to another fusion tutorial. Also, mindblowing that DR wont have a simple drag and drop circle shape
Good luck!

Thanks for the tip!
There’s a easier way because this method might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This does not work in the free version
hmmmm, are you sure? Didn't realize that
@@redbeardengineered I couldn't find it
It shocks me on how long it takes for you to draw a simple circle..... maybe I should just use something else
Why not just create an image and add it to the video? It’s surprising that DaVinci Resolve doesn’t have a simpler way to add a circle.
That is another option for sure! Yeah, it would be nice to have something like that.
Surely there is an easier way.
You would think!
Is there really not an easier way to make a circle? Like the video if that is the case.
Not that I've found... maybe in fusion
the absolute insanity that it's this "difficult" to make a circle in 2024
you'd think right?
You got to be joking right all this for a circle screw that man
When you're desperate...
