I love that we are introduced to the horses before you begin work and your gentle approach with Dermot is lovely. Patience now will reap dividends in the future.
Great video. Your an amazing farrier with your patience. Love how you take each horses needs and treat them accordingly. ❤ he’s definitely got a cheeky look about him
Dermot seems to be very curious today about the camera and what you are doing. He seems to be a gentleman though. No kicks or nips, but he certainly wanted to check up on your work 😮😊😂!
I think the horse is just curious as to what you are doing and what the camera is. He seems like a gentle giant still curious about his surroundings. Give him time he will settle in nicely.
I've been a subscriber on your channel for a few months now and I'm just discovering these old videos and I absolutely love them! Yes, I think he was definitely Hamming it up for the camera! Lol! You're so kind and gentle with him. I really love your videos, keep up the good work! Thanks for showing us the horse and the background, and thanks for the comedy! You have a good sense of humor😅
Awww, what a big beautiful boy Dermott is, and I think he’s playing you😂you’re such a kind and patient man, excellent job, and have you ever been injured on the job, I know some cow trimmer’s have, thank you so much for posting, and take care.😂👍💙🐴
Thank you. Yes I have been to hospital many times. I think the worst time was when I fell under a horse while trimming and he kicked my head a few times pulling a bit of my scalp away. I had to be airlifted to hospital to have my scalp put back together. Or another is when a little bit of hot metal came off the shoe and stuck to my eye ball. Fun times of being a farrier I guess 🤣
@@Peterthefarrier wow! And after all that pain, you’re still shoeing, very brave, thank you for answering my question, and please take care, I really really appreciate you and enjoy your videos, thank you again.💙
Happy new year to you as well. I will be putting a new video out next week. I had a hand injury that has stopped me being able to do a video unfortunately 😭.

Thank you. He does definitely have a cheeky look about him at times 😂
Dermot just wants to be an influencer. Great job. Both of you.
Thanks mate. Maybe it should just be his channel. I think that is how he was feeling today.

Lol, he's funny. I like you left all that in. He's just trying to be the star. Really good video. I love it. ❤
Thank you. I am just glad he did not jump around to much 😂
Indeed! His curiosity was fun to watch - and your gentle handling of his nerves was kindness in action. Lovely work!
I think he is a riot. Love him. Great job with this horse. ❤
He’s probably a bit scared but he’s trusting you 😊
Yeh I definitely think he is scared at points but he is definitely having a few cheeky moments when he gets his confidence 🤣
Dermot is quite the character. You were calm and positive around him and his worry changed to curiosity. Nice to see.
Enjoyed Dermet and all his curious moments. Thanks for leaving in the clip.
I love the way you wait for him to settle. That’s so fair and appropriate!!

I think he's really scared but you were very patient and kind dealing with him.
I was goingvto say . The look he gave you. was priceless. when you said he was a bit whimpy .
Revenge time lolol
Dermot is just checking out your work doesn’t want his hoof to look bad.
Like the new haircut
Nice job!
Out of curiosity, has this horse had a massive abcess burst about 6 months previously above the split site @ 7.02?
No he has had no abscess this year. He hacks down a rocky track and sometimes it can mess his feet up a bit.
😍💜😍💜😍💜
Hes just tryingto help you 🐴😆
Oh man, I think I can smell the video. I hope the horse does not live in that filth that is all around the place. Yes, I know you only trim the feet.
His stall is pretty dirty. Some people don’t have time or put the effort in to clean them everyday. But I doubt he lives a filthy life.
