Hi Peter. How are you? How is your beautiful family? The way you describe the various parts of the foot and the whole process is very professional. Excellent job as always. Cloud is a very gentle abd sweet boy. Thank you so much for this amazing video. Wish you all the best😁
Brilliant video. Love the explanation throughout the process. That’s definitely quite a bit of foot for 5 weeks. At first when I first saw the foot I didn’t think they needed doing until you took the shoe off 🤣🤣 lovely peaceful office view 😊 hope you and the family are ok? Just another thing new chaps on the list for Xmas? 🤣😬🙈
Hello Peter. Glad to see you are ok and hope your lovely family are too. Can't believe that Cloud's hooves have grown so much in five weeks or so. Glad Cloud has such a caring owner. Also glad to hear you are on Santa's 'nice list' for new pair of chaps at Christmas. Have a great weekend. 😊
Another lovely video. So nice to hear you chatting and explaining as you go im clueless with horses so I'm slowly learning. Take care, look forward to your next one.
@ doing good Peter. Hope the same for you and your family. Starting to get colder here in California. Bet you guys are feeling the weather change as well.
Another great video Peter. Thank you for sharing your day with us. Cloud is absolutely gifted in so many ways. I hope he has a great and fun show with his new shoes.
Thanks Peter, for another great video. However, maybe next time you could show us you doing both hinds or both fronts? That would be nice to see, rather than just the one hoof! Just a suggestion for you, mate! I hope you and the family are doing well. I'm slowly recovering from my broken wrist. At least I'm not in constant pain like I was the first 3 weeks!! That was terrible!! But this last round of X-Rays looks good, doctor said that everything should recalcify well. I certainly hope so! I don't want to have to go all these weeks in a cast only to be told I need surgery anyway!! LOL 🤣 But if it happens that I need surgery, at least the pain won't be for as long!! Nice job as always, Peter. Cloud has very nice feet and very well behaved for you. Do you find the Irish breeds generally gave good feet? Just curious as the Irish part of the family was involved with horses for a long time.
It helps prevent something known as white line disease. The burn mark it leaves also allows the farrier to see if he needs to make any adjustments to the shoe or hoof before properly shoeing. It can also make the shoes sit better sometimes
"me wire brush" I love this accent and the hoof cleaning obvi!

I will definitely try make some time to do a video on more than one hoof. Good idea 😊. I hope you start feeling better soon.
@@Peterthefarrier Thank you, Peter!! Stay safe!! Jenn 💖
Peter, thank you for naming the different parts of the hoof. As you say, not all of us know anything about horses. What is the purpose of the frog?
No problem. It has a few different purposes. One of them is it is a part of the concussive mechanism of the hoof.

Can you describe what the soul of the hoof feels like? Is it hard as cement? Does the frog feel spongy?
👍
Hi Peter! New here - why do farriers put the horseshoe on when it’s very hot? I’m assuming it doesn’t hurt the horse. But it’s quite a lot of smoke!
It helps prevent something known as white line disease. The burn mark it leaves also allows the farrier to see if he needs to make any adjustments to the shoe or hoof before properly shoeing. It can also make the shoes sit better sometimes
3,26 Imagine if all horses feet were this easy ??
THAT SMOKE HAS TO STINK, I MADE A COUPLE KNIVES FROM DEER ANTLER, AND IT STANK LIKE HELL THE WHOLE TIME
Aww, no today's office view.
I don’t understand why you seem to take so much off though.
