tysm for this video!! i saw you today at the reptile 🦎 expo in melbourne. you are a very popular man so i couldn’t grab you to have a chat but it was great to see the legend himself in person. thanks mate 😉
I love knob tails. The Millii are my personal favorites because of their temperament. I’ve also had a few Wheeleri. I’d love to work with the levis levis one day. They’re super expensive here in the US. So are the others, but a little less so.
0:39 so does the suggest they get along with each other?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sorry I cant help myself that one in the corner is like “HELP ME DIS GUYS CWAAAZZY!!!!”
They are so cute!! I kinda want one but I’m pretty sure my husband would think I was crazy bc I already have two axolotls some fish and a dog. But man they are so cute!!
really love these guys! sadly i'm here in the states where its alot harder to get knob tails in general but if they do pop up they are pretty pricey. But out of australian geckos there is a lot more than just knob tails id want. haha.
Generally a good video, you obviously know what you are doing and seem to have great success with it. My sincere question though (no hate pls): why do you keep additional animals, if you just hide them in a shelf all day? Again, this is no criticism, but i personally dont see the appeal. i keep my feeder insects in tubs, but thats because i dont see them as pets, but as a simple resource. Even if i commercially bred my geckos, which i dont, it would feel like such a shame to see them as a mere money printing machine that lives in my drawer.
Where should their humidity sit? My tank is around 40-50 percent during the day but can sometimes sit in the 70’s at night. We have a uvb light, UTH and infrared projector, as well as the terracotta hide you have. He’s on fine red desert sand, I’m still trying to figure out if I’m doing any of this right
I’m thinking about getting a gecko soon (this is why I’m commenting on a 3 year old video) Just wondering if you need hot and cold hides with knob tails and do you have any objections to sand? I see you’ve used sand in the video but I was wondering if you still think that works as of to now.
Not an expert but I've done lots of research on Knob-Tails! In most places Ive read that its best to provide a hide on both the hot side and the cool side, with the cool hide doubling as the humid hide
@@Ingrid-ej5oy Yeah! I'm looking to get one in about a month or so! I'm glad I could offer some help and I wish you the best of luck with your future gecko!
Hey, can I keep them 0.2 without problems? Do you know how to find any Knob Tailed Geckos in Germany or Traders who deliver to Germany? Appreciate a reply :)
The tray containers at the beginning of the video , they seem to be trying to get out. Do they need more room? Or, do they need to be taken out and allowed to roam a certain extent?
@@CrittaCam Hey Peter, can you give me contacts for breeders around Vic (or somewhere else in Aus)? It seems impossible to find them online. Cheers if you read this 😁😭
I have a question. Are the knobtails fine on sand, as in is there a risk of impaction? From what I've read and heard about other lizards, generally it isn't advised to keep them on sand do to the risk of impaction.
No. Eublepharidae are not found in Australia. (Eyelid geckos) Australian NZ and New Caledonian geckos all have non closing eye 'lids' Leopard and Leopard gecko family in Asia, inc. Cat gecko,Cave gecko + the Americas (Switak's, Banded etc) and Africa (Fat tails) have closeable eyelids.
I've always wanted a levis pair but they're tough to find in Europe. And especially in Greece, they are very expensive (a breeding pair I can find from a breeder friend can cost up to 600 euros). Such a shame.
They're so friggin cute! BUT honestly, would you be happy & comfortable being forced to live inside small dark containers? Would yoy kerp you'r baby inside a dark small container? Would it be appropriate and fit for the physiological, psychological, emotional, neurological, mental & physical etc. developement of any animate beings (whos natural habitats are not normally located in dark small spaces) inside a dark small container? ... It's one thing to be a licensed gecko owner. BUT an animal owner/caregiver who takes their diet, appearance, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT into consideration, gets the honor of GOD, The Creator himself.
Very inappropriate and naive response also probably illegal in most areas.Especially if that species is not native to that habitat, locale or country even. Captive pure bred reptiles and amphibians will in the future (and already) form the bastion of anti-extinction efforts. Ever heard of climate change? Oz has a permitting system that he would have to satisfy. ( I am talking here about ethical breeders- not reptile hunters collecting en masse vulnerable or rare species for huge profit)
Oh my goodness me it’s a smooth knob tailed gecko!!
I get it. AwA
They are all so adorable! Just can’t help falling in love with them!
I really like these because you can keep multiples together.
Same
Knobtails looks like Little Pit Bulls. Super nice Geckos Peter :o)
Harznattern very cute critters
great video if i was to get a gecko these would probably be my choice

TheILastIHunt I've seen a few breeders with exceptional good geckos in the US
Geckos ETC. works with them but like I said alot more pricey than they are in australia for obvious reasons.
CrittaCam can you show me some links cause I can only find one website now and they usually don’t have any.
you should get leapord gecko
I really want the gargoyle gecko but i have to get this one because im in Australia :(
Hey peter! I was that kid at the port Macquarie reptile expo that said watches your videos!
Tyler Langley it was great meeting you
CrittaCam Thanks I can't believe I actually met you! I've always wanted to meet you
Great video I was just wondering though where you get the terracotta egg laying hides? Thanks!
What size enclosure is the exo Peter?
think these were the 45 x 45 x 45
Do they enjoy being held?
not really

Where have you buy the hide ?
Love the re-hash of old videos, will you be doing new ones?
Lance Kirkman should be some new stuff coming soon
question does the smooth knob tailed gecko need the same things as the knob tailed gecko?
same critter

15 x 2 is 30,😂.. anyways I love the content!
Where can I find those terracotta hides? 🙂
Hey there , try squamata concepts they make the SIM tubs
Do they need heat around Bundaberg?
they would still require some supplement heating

hello i'm very late but do these little guys have to be in pairs or groups or can they be alone?
When you breed knob tailed geckos, do you HAVE to brumate them in order for them to breed?
They do perform better after a short cooling period
For just one of these what size enclosure will be the min? I am looking at a 45cmx 45 cm
Great size to start at
@@CrittaCam For a hatchling I am guessing? What about for an adult what size for just one?

They do fine in multiples as long as they get feed frequently as for traders in Germany I can't help Australia has a zero exportation
Where do you find them terocota/water cave from ??

hey could you let me knob where you get those terrcotta hides please?
So cute! But i would put them in a bigger cage tho! (:
we can keep the male & female in the same tank at same time from baby until they breed ??!?? or separated them???
what kind of sand do you use with your gecko's? I have read som horror stories on different types like calci sand, and sillica.
Chris Knott we use a fine beach sand and have had no issues
