Since 1970... high school friends and I wandered into this club on a Tuesday, and he started a week-long gig there. We came back with a couple of more friends for each night. When Prine left us, we all wrote and called, recalling that first ever week with him. Two weeks later, it was John Hartford with Vassar Clemens for a week... then the next week, Prine returned. Those were heady years.
We should all be happy that John is still is able to force us to, "Rise Up", with his songs and appreciate ourselves and our simple humanity. Some of us are dead, but many of us are alive and we need his simple explanations to move forward to a better humanity. That's all I have to say, and goodbye. Miss you John.
