The lore of the two Smelter Demons is actually quite simple: The red Smelter Demon was a creation of the Old Iron King, when he succumb to his hubris and desire to bring life to husks of Iron. Unfortunately, the creation turned on the master and was the reason behind the Kings decent into the lava lake. But the blue Smelter demon was created for an entirely new, fasinating purpose...to fufill a DLC price quota. Hope this helps!
Nah, he has lore. He was one of the first puppets of the Old Iron King, and was placed there to stop people of trying to steal the iron with which he was creating his weapons, armors and whatnot. That's why the runback is so painful, all the enemies there are protecting the iron. I mean it's not good lore but he has... I like DS2 ok?

@omnipresentl1316 Honestly on my most recent playthrough Alonne was far worse. On my second try at blue smelter I was able to run past everything somehow, only stopping to dodge a couple attacks. I was expecting it to be significantly worse so it was a pleasant surprise.
Poise is tied to the lowest of Endurance and Adaptability and it goes by 0.3 for every point in the lowest stat until you hit 30 and then it hits the first soft cap and increase by 0.2 until you hit 50 and 0.1 afterwards. That's why poise is highlighted since adaptability does affect it. It just doesn't rise since like dark damage it scales with the lower of the two stats.
I personally like one-stat runs more than plain old lv1 runs. You just get more than "find this item that boosts you stats enough you can somehow survive". Watching all those GinoMachino videos where he levels only on stat in Elden Ring and what builds he can make out of it was very enjoyable
Yeah, it's fun leveling one stat to the max and seeing what you can do with it. Unfortunately resistance in ds1 and ADP in ds2 don't let you change builds because they don't effect weapon stats (tbf I guess you could play around with poison in ds2, which is broken, because ADP raises the damage from it but actual weapon changes are still a no)
I mean, that's still an opinion (based on one's preference), so there's little to argue about. I'm gonna be honest, I think the idea behind connecting the i-frames to a stat was kinda cool. Resistance was absolutely useless in DS1, so they tried to make it useful by tying it to i-frames in agility. Unfortunately, they took away too many i-frames trying to balance it, and we got this. If we had 3 more base i-frames, it wouldn't be anywhere near as bad.
This is what I expect my friends to do when I tell them they need to level ADP. My review for DS2 is literally a jab at one of my friends who never leveled ADP the entire game

So I just kept wondering how in the world you manage to play these games from start to finish over and over without getting tired of it?😅seems like it would be stressful
It's a combination of loving the games, and being patient/stubborn lol It's also fun to do silly runs like this because like "sure of course I can do it...but what's it gonna be like to do so??" And I enjoy the journey
I’m obviously not the vid publisher, but I’m someone who plays these games year round. I’m pretty much always playing a souls game along side the newer games I play. The simple fact is that after your first playthrough, you know A.)where to go, B.) at least some of each boss’movesets, and C.) how to play. Each souls game play just a little bit differently. With all those three things, subsequent playthroughs are a lot less exhausting. And you learn a little more each time so it stacks up to knowing more and more and less effort goes into each following run. Finally, there’s builds. You can learn to dodge every attack and use dual wield builds. You can tank attacks with heavy armor, poise, and great shields. You can make a magic caster. Each plays by the rules a little differently so it stays fresh.
When you think about WandD is the most fair duo fight in every souls and souls like made by from unlike OandS, the twin princes, and godskin duo one isn't a glitchy mess and there's no projectile spam.
You say you aren't good at dark souls 2, but you play better with a horrible meme build than I do with an optimal build. It's been a while though. I know that dark souls 2 is the worst souls game, but I remember everyone loving it when it first came out. I always remember, at least my (now passed) cousin, gushing over the flexile sentry fight. Your videos inspire me to pick up dark souls 2 again, but I want to purchase the dlc first and it's not on sale rn lol. Maybe I'll revisit Elden Ring instead before the DLC comes out in like 6 weeks.
I was half joking about being bad at the game, I def die more than I show (because most of them are just not funny deaths so there is no point lol)I hope you get a chance to play it again soon, I think its the worst of the three, but not a bad game by itself haha
Isnt this just SL1 with extra steps? (For the algorithm) Call, calling DS2 the objectively worst souls game? All that ADP cant let you dodge your parent's disappointment that you said that.
6:01 “one last thing to do is upgrade rapier a bit more” “I take out this crystal liz…. I take out this crystal liz…” “I take out this crystal SHITHEAD” 😂😂😂😂😂 CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD💀
A large majority of damage comes from weapon upgrades, not the skills (yes they play a part but you can have 99 in a stat and it will underperform if the weapon is +0 instead of +10). I did have a few pieces of stat boosting gear on too but overall bosses in ds2 don't have a lot of health, plus the rapier can attack relatively fast so it lobs health off
I'm honestly not sure it would have been that much better, I showed the difference for drinking estus and it's only slightly faster, assuming other consumables have the same animation speed increase I likely wouldn't have noticed lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah when you reached 99 adp and demonstrates the estua flask drink speed…they def could have implemented agility a bit better. Although even without max adp throwing knives and hexing urns are actually pretty strong
ok so fun fact, in pvp people didnt really mind ADP because weapons always had shit scaling for the most part, and you could have a high healthpool and agility with little damage lost since you could just use the flynns ring and ring of blades +2 for tons of free damage, since most weapons at 60str 60dex often gave maybe like 50 more damage than 20/20, so that paired with the damage boosting rings being FLAT value increases, you can see why in pvp ADP is actually not too bad and doesn't bother people too much.
@@DoomWolfOfficial no issues man! in the future i think a good run you should do sometime in the future would be a dark souls 2 run where you get to ng++ and then can only use the 2 spells you get from that, of course refills allowed. sounds kinda fun, since the bosses and stuff will be different so your strategy for them will change. just my idea though, dlc stuff is probably the better idea because everyone has their eyes on it. maybe do a dlc run where you can only use the smithscript daggers or something, since everybody is doing all the weak weapons, using stuff like the golem fists and smithscript daggers will probably work out?
So basically it's just an easier SL1 run because you have i-frames. With a rapier (which is busted in ds2) and the amount of stat boosting gear available, it's definitely not too difficult on regular NG; just mostly boring for lack of build diversity. Great video nonetheless. Maybe do some higher NG+ challenge runs in the future 😉
100% exactly what you said lol and thanks! I'm not usually a fan of higher Ng cycles because it's jsut more health, but DS2 does have changes in NG+ so maybe..

I’d say the only silver lining is that because IIRC the St. Trina’s Torch drops from a carriage so the Godskin Duo won’t be a complete pain in the ass
i've done shield only, but not shield bash only, not sure how different they are, and the carriage reward one could be fun!
7:23 man is using a fire buff against a fire boss.
still did good damage lol
Got a chuckle out of the sword fazing joke
I'm glad haha
Doom u know supernatural also damn it man y do u keep getting better! Doom I think your great keep up the great work don't over do it take care of your self
I do, I really like the show haha, and thanks! :)
Another masterpiece Mr. Doom. Thank you! DS2 is so goofy.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
loving the legally distinct Behar Grilles
Thanks haha
He just said : nah I'd adapt
haha, yeah, and then at the end: nah, id win lol
6:04 lmao, I would go insane if it happened to me.
fortunately, I lost my sanity long ago lol
@@DoomWolfOfficialdont you dare go hollow
Nice video again, cheers from Germany
Thanks my friend:)
Bad video, again. Hatred from Germany.
Hey
I just got my platinum in Elden ring and I was thinking about you and how you make these videos. I was completely exhausted when I completed my platinum and it took me 3 playthroughs(I can’t back up data to the cloud like most people so that I could get the different endings on one playthrough). So I just kept wondering how in the world you manage to play these games from start to finish over and over without getting tired of it?😅seems like it would be stressful
It's a combination of loving the games, and being patient/stubborn lol
It's also fun to do silly runs like this because like "sure of course I can do it...but what's it gonna be like to do so??" And I enjoy the journey
@@DoomWolfOfficialWow. I normally need a break of many months after completing a game. don’t stop making these videos😊
Sending positive vibes. Looking forward to ds3 by only levelling luck.
Thanks my friend :) and soon tm lol
What i like about Doom is he replies to all comments
I do my best :)
6:29 the souls counter...
nice :)
I would love to see a DS2 baby easy mode run one day.
I would love to make one, just gotta figure out what that would look like.. lol
When you think about WandD is the most fair duo fight in every souls and souls like made by from unlike OandS, the twin princes, and godskin duo one isn't a glitchy mess and there's no projectile spam.
I'm not sure about most fair, but definitely the easiest lol
Velstat is very sad.
Indeed :(
Isnt this just SL1 with extra steps? (For the algorithm)
Call, calling DS2 the objectively worst souls game? All that ADP cant let you dodge your parent's disappointment that you said that.
Thanks, and you're absolute correct :P lol
lmao, nice, they one shot me because I didn't through the disappointment
hand axe is a better starting weapon and you can wield it straight away
I don't think i've ever used the hand axe in ds2, but I did a whole play through with it in 1 lol
12:26 "Smalldia" was right there! I'm disappointed.
That's a jk Leeds level of pun, and I'll never be that great lol
You sure adapted to the situation
Quality pun, I approve
Your boss order is astonishing
Thanks! ...what do you mean lol
As the avid DS2 lover who plays it every week. . .no, we do not wake up excited about Pilgrims of the Dark.
Exactly!
6:01 “one last thing to do is upgrade rapier a bit more”
“I take out this crystal liz…. I take out this crystal liz…”
“I take out this crystal SHITHEAD” 😂😂😂😂😂 CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD💀
As long as I made you laugh :)
in response to 6:20
I'm doing great, thanks for asking :)
I wonder how The Rotten was doing, though.
PBBT, I laughed lol
Doomwolf, answering humanity's hardest questions. 😅
it's for science, and not because i've lost my mind lol
Does he really reply to all comments? (Luv U doom 😍)
I try to :)
Good vid once again! 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it my friend :)
You sir, are a hero!
Thanks, but we both know jk Leeds is the real hero haha
something something playing every soul game leveling one stat for every stat
It's a long road ahead, but i'll walk it
It's me. The guy who likes doing pilgrims of the dark as much as I like darklurker.
I think you are the only person to say this so far, and ya know what? ...I respect it
we becomin a divine general with this one
so much adp i just ascend lol
Your attacks do surprisingly good damage for having like no stats
A large majority of damage comes from weapon upgrades, not the skills (yes they play a part but you can have 99 in a stat and it will underperform if the weapon is +0 instead of +10). I did have a few pieces of stat boosting gear on too but overall bosses in ds2 don't have a lot of health, plus the rapier can attack relatively fast so it lobs health off
“I’m pretty sure with a tiny bit of practice a 2 year old could hitless him”
I mean. I’ve seen a fish beat him, so.
lmaooo poor last giant
I just realized Mytha has horns, and Covetous Demon has nails
but same though lol

nice!
I'm Brazilian but I'm fluent in English
But anyway I'm very happy that this video was translated into Portuguese, how incredible.
that must be the auto captions maybe? because I can't speak Portuguese so i don't know how else it would have happened haha
i dont think so, it was well writen, including the in game names... Maybe a fan wrote them?@@DoomWolfOfficial
Darklurker, man. It's crazy how there's like only one good boss fight in that whole game (not counting DLC) and they hid it that hard.
right! I love the fight but god I hate having to get to him lol
also 6:22 I seen what you did in the bottom right with your souls….. *NICE*
Thanks lol
Haven’t watched it yet but using consumables would be genius cause the animations would be quicker with the high ass agility
Being called the worst dark Souls game is basically like winning bronze at the Olympics.
yeah! Except there are only three entries :P lol
You seriously have never seen semon of dong's waterspit attack!?!?
I can count on two hands how many times I've played DS2, so no lol
6:18 NICE!
lol thanks
The “peace out bitch” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
glad you liked it lol
The secret to challenge runs is to hate yourself.
actually true though lol
ok so fun fact, in pvp people didnt really mind ADP because weapons always had shit scaling for the most part, and you could have a high healthpool and agility with little damage lost since you could just use the flynns ring and ring of blades +2 for tons of free damage, since most weapons at 60str 60dex often gave maybe like 50 more damage than 20/20, so that paired with the damage boosting rings being FLAT value increases, you can see why in pvp ADP is actually not too bad and doesn't bother people too much.
interesting, thanks for the explanation! I have basically 0 knowledge of the PvP side of things haha
This is the most DS2 build ever
it truly is lol
11:40 - the phrase 'room temp IQ' is new to me, and I WILL be using it in the future LOL
As opposed to Sauna IQ or the exaggerated Oven IQ
I'm glad I could give you a new phrase lol
well at least you'll be invincible, right?
Dark souls 2: "that's what you think." lol
