I stayed at the Domene Kaw in Jan/Feb of 2004 for a few weeks. It had just opened then and I think there were 2 or 3 other rooms with guests. I paid about $14 a night at the time. The staff were very nice, and even opened the kitchen one night when my wife and I got back late so we could have a meal. I stayed on the second floor facing the ocean. There was no steps to the ocean for swimming then. We would sometimes get barbeque from the bus terminal in town and some beers and sit and look out over the ocean. It was very beautiful and romantic. My wife (then fiance) lived in Jagna so I stayed there till our wedding. The lady who owns the Domene Kaw used to work at the Marriot in Cebu before she built this hotel, she helped me get a big discount at the Shangri La in Cebu for our honeymoon. I can't say enough of the hospitality and memories from then. Thanks for the vid, it took me back to those wonderful times. We plan to go back soon to see how Jagna has changed in the 10 years since we have been back. btw, I don't remember the concrete piers being there at the time either. Regards
The more I watch your videos in Bohol, the more I want to visit the place. I have to make that a priority. There is no way I’d go under that water lol.
These units can surprise you M D, too hot or too cold. I have been to Bohol 2 previous times for only a couple of days and this 1 week trip around the island really opened my eyes to the potential and variety here.
nice job Rod.....i hope in future these places you review , should not charge you a "walk in" price.....in fact they should comp you coz these reviews help them a lot.....with future customer awareness...
That would be nice matteo but I think some places get lots of requests from vloggers for comps. There is one article recently from a resort that says "no more freeloaders" wanting comps.
It was very clean and comfortable after a day on a motorbike James. A bit more expensive than I wanted though. We found a couple of cheaper places in town the next day.
I think we got the last room available Jimbo. It is not a large place and I am guessing they may have about 16 rooms but not sure. Some facing the sea and some face the street.
Rod, with the concrete pilons in the back, do you reckon there was a pier of some sort at one time?? Pension House is kind of confusing... Usually it denotes a place for back packers, with multiple people sleeping in one room, like a hostel... Thanks for the video...
I have never found a good definition for the difference of a pension house and hotel Bruce but Slim Jim offers some insight. This was better than many hotels I have stayed in.
Nice looking Place rod the food looks good also. LOL on the door hitting the toilet. I would hate to be sitting there and someone come busting into this ER and crack my head open LOL that's supposed to be CR not ER
or at "least' a discount or how u should ask for is..... "budget"......it seems some filipino's seem to understand the word budget to mean a discounted price.....but don't say BUDGET price.....just say or ask....'can you give me BUDGET' ?
I have been unsuccessful in my research about the difference of a pension house and hotel. Slim Jim says they are taxed differently. My opinion is that they cater more to the Filipino traveler and are usually a bit less expensive but that was not the case here.
Thanks for another great video..I saw you standing in the Bohol Sea, glad you didn't slip and get washed away..haha,,,I will be there soon and will track you down. Me and my girlfriend will buy you and your girlfriend dinner. Keep it between the lines and watch your six.
Thanks Richard. The water felt cool to me and I really didn't want to go for a swim but it was quite comfortable. My email is noisemasters@gmail.com so stay in touch Richard.

Thanks for sharing your experience Badgermoon. I also enjoyed out stay there and the trip around Bohol. A very livable island I think. Take care.

Interesting looking place, but too expensive.

Good morning Sir Rod, you need to shout them a toaster for your future visits amigo, Lina says thats probably why you didn't get toast. Lol.
That may be the issue Bob. I continue to learn....slowly. LOL.

LOL. It worked for us boogieman but that tight CR was a little annoying.

Interesting matteo. I will try that.
Rod what does the word pension mean in a pension house. Kind of embarrassed to ask
@@jasonjames4254 wow I had no idea about the government's involvement
