- Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre Lancaster NX611 "Just Jane" has KB976 rear fuselage fitted. Dave bolts the two section together, Norman and Phil work on fitting the British built rear wheel assembly to Canadian rear fuselage.

I've already started the work to repair the AN/APS-15 (H2X) scanner, the plan is to make it part of an interactive Radar/ECM display at a future date. Now the fuselage sections have been swapped it feels like we're getting somewhere this year.

Super video Neville, great that all the bolts lined up, not quite so good about the tail wheel pin but I know this will be resolved. I’m looking forward to seeing how Jane’s rear fuselage has faired over all these years and how much work will be needed to restore it to flightworthy condition.

This is proper history, that has been missed. Are you guys not talking to one another?
The rear turret looks lovely. Mark my words though, you’ll need a sliding DV window in it, just like PA474. It was a field modification, for icing/visibility reasons, but in peace time great for fume ventilation and great for air to air photography.

Thanks for another fascinating episode. Just one nit to pick, though, what you refer to as the Doncaster fuselage would be more properly known as the Canadian fuselage just as the wing is called the French wing. Sorry, my Canadian heritage coming through! Cheers!

Thank you for the update Neville, I'm sure during the war there would have been aircraft with both Canadian and UK build assemblies in them if they had been sent to maintenance units, It looks like Jane will be reassembled shorty.

I'm amazed that the bolts holding the two sections together are simply 'nipped up' rather than having specific torque wrench settings?
I know how you feel Neville when you can't be there and such fun things are happening on the plane I haven't been able to work on our TBM and all the other guys are having all the fun. We're gonna be airworthy in a couple weeks

I really enjoyed this video, I was seeing that Dave was using hand held wrenches to put bolts in, is there a reason he wasn't using a power wrench so to get it done faster?
They had to be careful not to distort the face of the midsection of fuselage I understand , so steady as she goes.
