    Im on a weight loss journey! How I suppress my appetite is:
    1. Workout before I eat
    2. Drink water before I eat
    3. Eat healthy fats
    I’ve lost over 70 pounds with 40 more to go!

      I 100% agree with the working out before eating in the morning. The only time I would say to eat first is if you're going to be in the gym for over an hour and lifting heavy or going cardio crazy.

    I used be "hungry" all the time but now I know that most of it was 1. Boredom and 2. I had to drink.
    And eating a nice big salad before your meal is a life saving thanks J♥️

    I just love how real you are. I’ve always been a fitness girl but I tend to get obsessive and overthink things while being really hard on my self. You remind me to relax and not overthink things. You make it so easy.

    I used to have a huge dehydration problem, the lemonade colored urine measurement has become an enormous help for me, no longer do I get dehydrated. Thanx Jillian!❤

    Since I started IF, I’m not as hungry and I don’t eat as much. Especially on the weekends, I eat late and maybe only once or twice day. But water helps me not eat as much and I drink a lot of green tea too! This is what helps me, but I’m not the expert lol

    Drinking water, whole volumetric foods and intermittent fasting have been great for me. This was great AFTER going through therapy for emotional eating issues.

    Incredibly valuable advice and really informative, thank you! Remember folks, whenever you’re hungry and you just ate a couple hours ago, you’re not actually hungry. You’re bored. Single biggest thing that helped me stay on track.

    I really needed this! I had been really ill for 4 days, could barely eat anything. NOw I find I want to eat everything in sight AND everything I can even 'picture' in my head. Every so often it seems like my 'fullness' register is broken, and I can't seem to put a cap on eating. Thank you so much for this video.

    Just remember that water diluted your digestive enzymes, so maybe drink a lot of water then wait a bit before eating. For me water doesn’t make me feel full at all. I can drink 24 ounces plus first thing in the morning and still want breakfast soon after.

      mk that’s amazing 🙂👏🏾. I’m happy for you. So do you follow the eat every few hour rule that she has? It’s hard for me to think that I shouldn’t eat less and eating more will help me lose weight. It’s sooo hard 😬.
      And giving up alcohol is hard for me and exercising is hard too. I have a 9+ year old hip injury. One leg is shorter than the other.
      So doing her exercise i know I would have a hard time. Standing completely straight is something I can’t even do.
      I wish I could afford Jillian to be here with me because I know that I need that PUSH. That person who’s knowledgeable and who I trust to help me.. Yet I’m broke and disabled. So .. 🤷🏾‍♀️. It is what it is.

    Im fasting in Ramadan JM, how do I sustain my weight loss journey coming out of fasting. I was 113kg @ my worst. Now I'm 100.7kg. Ideally the 90s would be an achievement. Your inspirational keep up the videos.

      eat only lean protein when out of fasting. 40 grams at least and you won't binge.

      Eat enough before going around parties with unhealthy stuff. And don’t buy it at the store! If you do want some “sweet snacks” I’d definitely go with a plant-based, minimally processed something! Stay away from overly processed junk and dairy, especially if you’re a female over 30! Speaking in what’s worked really well for me.

    During quarantine I lost 20 lbs by not eating more than 1200 calories daily (good calories like vegetables and lean meats and eggs etc) however, I've decided to incorporate exercise and I find that I've stopped losing weight because I'm now hungry all the time and I'm eating more calories. Feeling stressed by this but taking advice from this video ❤

    I add a little bit of coconut oil to my protein shake and that helps me tons with the cravings. It also makes my smoothie super tasty 😋

    What are you supposed to do when you’re unemployed, stuck in the house 24/7 surrounded by food?! I workout 4-6 times a week and drink almost a gallon of water everyday. But I negate all that by eating too much!!! It’s just stress, anxiety and boredom Ugh 😩

      I am in a similar predicament. What has helped me is to plan my meals every morning for that day so that I fit within my calorie goals but also fulfilling any preferences I have for the day. I don’t like to do strict weekly meal planning because I find that I don’t always feel like eating what I planned.

      if you eat 40+grams of animal protein that you can CHEW, your grazing appetite will vanish. Go for a 10 mile stroll if youre bored. Vitamin D suppresses hunger too

    Yes! We have pizza on Fridays and I eat a salad with it.. eat that first and a glass of water and then eat the pizza. Sometimes i cant even finish the slice ♡♡♡ been doing for years ♡

    Consider that if you constantly need food for stimulation (or cigarettes, coffee, nicotine, chocolate), you may want to get evaluated for ADD/ADHD (this is NOT everyone!). I thought it was "emotional" eating, but food and drinking (even tons of water!), and nailbiting, gum chewing, candy sucking turned out to be an "oral fidget." Once I got diagnosed, my "appetite" totally normalized and I stopped thinking about food. People think stimulants might help you lose weight because they cut appetite, which of course they can be abused for, but on the right dose for the right diagnosis, they can normalize appetite and cravings, eliminating constant fiending for snacks and thoughts about food. It is so nice not thinking about food or sipping on something/sucking on something to help me focus or eliminate boredom. I now have a very fulfilling life with focus taken away from food and exercise which are only tools for health. I discovered how much I have to offer as a friend and person, plus talents I never knew existed because I was always so focused on food.

    I have a PhD in Long Term Weight Loss Outcomes....this was my dissertation...published in OVID and PUBMED...And BAR NONE this is the absolute BEST video I have viewed so far about suppressing hunger and hormones. Simple and to the point and easy to understand. She simplifies complex systems into an understandable and easy to follow format....Jillian, you are amazing!     I can’t stop eating especially when my period is about to start.. please how can you overcome that need for chocolate cake or a crunchy cookie? 😆🙃

      For me, I crave red meat and foods high in iron like spinach right before and during my cycle. I take an iron supplement during my period, but nothing works like a burger or steak to get my energy to return. Maybe try dark chocolate instead. You may be craving the vitamins that are in dark chocolate like iron and magnesium.

      You might be magnesium deficient. Chocolate in its pure form is high in magnesium (the sugar added to it ruins it), but if you take a calcium/magnesium supplement, it might help with that chocolate craving. Good luck.

      It's all about willpower. You practically cannot lose weight while eating crap. Choose your priority: short term satisfaction or longevity and health.

      I get one cookie, break it into really small pieces, and eat a tiny cookie chunk very slowly every few minutes 😝 savor the flavor

    Jillian, I just got the app today because of the Mother's Day Special and completed my first intermediate workout. It was challenging, but I made it through. I made the breakfast meal which was surprisingly yummy. I don't have the ingredients for the next meals today, so I'll have to get better at using the app to figure out what other recipes I can use with what I have. Overall, I had a great first impression, and I'm excited for tomorrow's workout:)

    Giving up alcohol is hard for me and exercising is hard too. I have a 9+ year old hip injury. One leg is shorter than the other. I’ve always had issues with exercising. I always hated it. I wasn’t born big I was a skinny thing until I turned 12yrs old. That time me and my fam was homeless so we just ate fast food. I gained so much weight and HORRIBLE eating habits. My chest size grew so much that I completely stopped running And playing outside. Something I did everyday and I loved it.
    When things are juggling around everywhere you can’t run around. It was uncomfortable. But when I was 19 years old I said that I would try to change I’m tired of being this way.. I started taking that “Ally” pill. I think that’s what it’s called lol. Anyways, I actually am got up early in the morning and started to jog. It was slow as hell but I was trying to run. Something I haven’t done since I was a Child! I lost my first 5 pounds. I was so happy. Next thing you know I broke my damn hip!(It dislocated and broke the socket into pieces). At 19yrs old?! My weight and diet is what lead me to that point. I had to start taking pills again (will not get into that) Even though I lost weight in the hospital (I was always 225. At the hospital I was 175) that didn’t last long. I ended up gaining back ofc more than ever. Especially now 🤦🏾‍♀️. I hate it. I hate myself. I haven’t loved myself and how I looked since I was a child. And that’s sad.
    Even if I could afford Jillian I don’t think I would able to her Exercises. I can’t afford anything not her books, workout vids, and app. Ugh 😑😩.
    If there are people out there who feel me on this subject all I ask is that you send a prayer 🙏🏽 my way. I’m not a religious person but I am spiritual. I do believe in prayer. And knowing that I have any support will help. I know I have to turn that into action.

      Sadae Sashington...I feel you on some of what you said and you are allowed to feel this way but don’t ever give up. Keep trying. Slow or not, it’s better than nothing. Trust in the process! Someone told me years ago that if I want it then I gotta put in the effort and they are so right so I either blame myself or I do something about it so do something, anything. Btw...I love alcohol which makes me gain weight but that’s more motivation for me. 😂

      I know it's hard but you can only try to create a healthier relationship with food through will power and planning in advance. No one can do that for you and it's not hard to do it on your own. You don't need expensive workout programs, use an app like myfitnesspal to track your daily macros and plan meals (REMEMBER TO SET REALISTIC GOALS OR YOU'LL GET DEMORALIZED), hop on a free weight training program like starting strength or 5x5, get yourself a cardio machine/bike or whatever (something that's easy on the joints) to use every day for at least 30 minutes and most importantly stick to it if you're serious about getting healthier. There is a guy who was born with a bent spine who holds a deadlift world record for his weight class and there are amputees who also enjoy a healthy active lifestyle so never think that it's impossible to get fit and gain control of that aspect of your life. It just takes more work for some people to get to that point due to their mindset and learning to control it. As for eating cleaner, it's not easy and it takes you not enjoying every single meal to get there. The way I cut my addiction to sugar and junk food was by stocking up on chicken, eggs, oatmeal, and milk. By the end of that year my insane sugar and junk food cravings completely disappeared. Try that and you'll probably save more money eating that way than buying junk food. Good luck!!

      I too am plagued on my legs and thighs. Have you tried ankle weight exercises? Also, consistency is key. If you can fit them in daily for maybe 10 minutes at least it can help.

      Stay away from overly processed foods, oils, and dairy. I had cellulite when I ate that stuff! Clean eating and mostly plant based works very well. And Find a good cardio exercise you like doing- walking/running, biking, etc. -anything you’ll Be consistent with!

    Any tips of not going to bed hungry?
    I work from 5PM - 10PM, I have a early dinner, about 3:50PM.
    I eat bad things after I get home from work, I’m a night filler for a grocery store. I lift 12 kilos of frozen vegetables in a box. I sweat a lot 😂 working fast.

    Jillian, I don't eat much, I always taketake care of the foods I eat and the calories. I do strength training & cardio, 5 times a week. But I Have an hormonal desorder since I was a teen (I am 44), and a year and a half ago I had a complete histerectomy. IT doesn't matter what I do, I just gain weight. Can you make a video on hormonal weight?

    Jillien thanks for the constant wealth of information. I exercise regularly 6+days a week (moderate to intermediate) and eat healthy so I feel but I can’t seem to lose weight. Any ideas

    There is no talk of satisfaction. Yes those measures will fill you up but you won’t necessarily feel satisfied and so will want to keep eating.

    Oh, a fiber supplement. I like that idea. It's easy enough to slip into my routine without having to renegotiate my eating habits, which are Paleo.

    Note the water and pee relationship isn't necessarily true. If you're taking vitamin c, for example, your pee can be orange-ish. Some other supplements do the same thing. Good tips, thank you.

    Drink. Your. Water. Eat your good fats! And eat proper meals, don’t eat too small meals. Learn to love food and don’t punish yourself if you happen to eat something “bad” or overeat. Be kind to yourself and say “okay, I’ll try to treat myself better with better food”. Don’t starve yourself. Eat slower, chew more! Work out. This helps me a lot.

      You might have IBS. Which means stress anxiety and certain foods will bloat you up

      @@boofriedmann2980 Are you sure it's definitely depression? Have your thyroid tested if you haven't before. If it's slow, and you need medicine, that may be why you're feeling down.

    Hi Jillian! Huge fan! I consider myself pretty healthy and educated on both fronts of diet and exercise. But, in lieu of and prior to the pandemic, I’ve experienced socioeconomic hardships and can’t afford a lot of the recommendations you’ve laid out in this and other videos (e.g. organic foods/supplements).
