Canal Rd pickup truck fire 1 18 24

Thursday morning around 7:00 am, Harrison County Fire Rescue was dispatched to smoke in the area of the powerlines, at Canal Rd. As units responded, dispatch advised the call was upgraded to a reported vehicle fire. Battalion arrived and found a pickup truck had been driven down a very muddy, off-road area, and was fully involved. The engine companies and tenders responding, were unable to access the road and reach the truck. Brush 7, from Station 7, was called in and was able to reach the site of the burning truck. It took about twenty minutes to extinguish. The circumstances as to why the truck was at this location and the origin and cause investigation is on-going.
