This was talk about for years but people didn't know if it actually took place. ESPN never showed this game .... Why Kobe vs D.Wade Or Carmelo. Vs Lebron. NEXT
Jabbar runs the score up there too. All he has to do is defense Jordan at the perimeter. Dr J couldn't really stay outside with Jabbar's height advantage. This is why I say Jordan can't be the GOAT. Too many big men in a 1 on 1 that would simply own Jordan that close to the rim. There simply wouldn't be a spectacular dunk by Jordan, Dr J wasn't getting those, they were blocked shots. There is no breakaway steal in a game from the 3 point arc in. When Jabbar dialed in the sky hook, Jordan would lose similarly, I don't think he would need it except early on and then the frustration of not being able to stop a 7+ footer from point blank range would set in, the reality of the futility. Chamberlain scored 100 points by himself in a game. The 5 on 5 is a full court game, 1 on 1 and it's played in the paint. Shaq would kill Jordan too.
Put crack rocks down.... Dr. J is no MJ... anyone who thinks they were close is a fool... and this 1 on 1 prooves it... MJ would NOT lose 100%... Dr J missed how many jumpers? TH-cam ANY!!! MJ video after retirement... where hes playing 1 on 1 or simply shooting contest or at practice whatever you want... You will see MJ does NOT MISS!!!
the doctor one the greatest MJ very good jumper if the doc had a good jumper would have been even greater Jordan is not head and shoulders above the doc and kareem has an 8 inch advantage hello
Kareem is just to big & strong & Dr.J of course has lost his first step. So now Dr. J has to play Kareems game, cause the Dr., was never a great outside shooter. Now play this game maybe 10-15 yrs ago Dr. J probably would have won, cause he would have been way to quick for Kareem.
They played decades ago while in their prime and Kareem destroyed him then too. And Dr. J was extremely upset after the loss. The Doc was quick but Kareem was just as quick and much bigger.

What a dunk from the doc. Can you imagine him playin in his prime in todays NBA??? Wow...
I remember there being talks of Magic and Jordan doing this.
Doc should've been running and hustling from the beginning.
@rumrumtanneo - Not necessarily...Erving was really off his game. That five year layoff from the court really showed in this game.
My first time seeing this. They should have warned us to spray Febreeze before watching this.
I think the Doc should have used more pump fakes and mixed his game more in general.
Kareem surprisingly has great footwork at that age, both offense and defense! 80's and 90's MJ would definitely own them both though.
I hope so he was in his 20s. Put Jabbar out there in his 20s. He would give anyone a rough nite.
Nice dunk from Doc at 8:30.
Hard to believe they actually did this.
@airjordan1585 ...dunking over a 7'2 center one on one at 42 years old with gray hair LOL
If this was Doc in his prime he coulda beat Kareem with his speed and athleticism.
Doc was less than 20 percent shooting. ..Curry would have a 100 points in this contest
What was the final score?
If dr j hit 50 percent of his mid range shots which were wide open this is a different game
This was talk about for years but people didn't know if it actually took place.

the highlight!!!!!! posterise!!!!!
Kareem is like 7 inches taller
jabbar vs jordan. sky hook vs fade away. imagine.

Unfair game. Still love Dr. J!
Funny to see how 3 old man running:D
dr. j dunks it at 42 beast mode
Dr J is fouling Jabbar on virtually every possession. Sometime the ref calls it, but most of the time he doesn't.
kareem is too big and tall for him in a 1 on 1 -.-"
Cool dunk. Classic J!
where is the fina???????????''
8:30!!!
The doctor is finished
google: jabbar routes dr.j 41-23
You can't teach height.

Liar, Kareem would of destroyed him when he was younger too. you clearly have never played B ball. Big men rule 1v1's
Kareem makes Dr J look like a little elementary girl...this should take Dr J out of the Hall of Fame...
What was the final score?
41-23 kareem
