People have to remember not everyone wants to move house every few years. For personal and family reasons. Not only that, the Premier League is just asking for people to fail. People hailed him as one of the best managers, to succeed Klopp. Alonso has done magnificent. But you have to remember it's literally ONE season. Managers come and go. Look at Leicester. Claudio won the league and then they dropped terribly, he gt sacked and then did terrible everywhere he went after. The grass is not always greener either. I respect the hell out of someone that can stay loyal theses. Lesser teams get no respect. A team does okay and everyone poaches their players and managers instantly. Nice to see a guy stand by what he wants.
This will be the future nr 1 manager without a doubt. This guy is in full control.. First season as a coach winning the league for the first time in the clubs history. Unbelievable
Good decision. Too many managers have 1 good season, go to a big club then get eaten alive. Win the Bundesliga this year, compete for Europa, and keep honing the skills and team next season
Good to see a young manager actually make a smart decision and take his time. Why rush when you can be a top level manager for 20 plus years if you're successful
Would love to see him in the premier league, but his loyalty and getting experience is better than losing his legendary status at Liverpool, should imagine the Scouse agree! UTV, also will miss Klopp, but thanks for making it difficult for every supporter of the opposition!
Xavi made the wrong decision going to a struggling Barcelona at the beginning of his career. She should have gone to a smaller club. Xabi has learnt from that and he is right. He should stay and develop before going to the big clubs.
Wise decision, so many managers do well in one season and then jump to a bigger club just to fail because lack of experience. Here he'll build his experience before moving to a bigger club and also help leverkusen stabilise their current strength.
It's a great decision, he went to Leverkusen with the purpose to build up a competitive team and is aware about how much effort and commitment has required. He wants to finish the job and challenge himself making his team compete in a higher level.
He’s thinking big picture. He’ll get some champions league experience next year, which will prepare him even more for that next step. There’s no rush for him, and the announcement will boost morale for the players going for the double
Already 16 points lol, Bayern lost 3-2 to Heidenheim xD. Xabi will win the league and cup + final in the Europa League. I doubt that next season will be that great for Bayer it will probably be 2 times as hard as this season so if he gets the title or cup + CL semis (or shows very good results without trophies). then I'm sure Real will likely pick him up which would be awesome. But if he were to come this season I wouldn't be happy, he needs to manage a Bayer-sized club for at least one year. I don't wish on Xabi what Barcelona does to its players, everyone wants Xavi out, he isn't a good manager, and the only reason that he still coaches is because he is a club legend. I don't want Real to ruin Alonso's legacy by getting him after this season, yes he has shown that he is capable but not that he's stable and creative. The real power test will come as I said, when Bayer will get poached of players so Xabi will have to get creative as he won't get a budget to replace half of the starting XI.
The only progression for Xabi would be Real or Liverpool (and Barca but I doubt Xabi would pick Barca who also is in so much debt that they had begged players not to pay them wages lol) and he's not ready for either of those. Step in any other direction is stepping to the side not going up, especially Bayern which would be a downgrade in my opinion. he needs to show his consistency, creativity, and tactical prowess, all of those will be checked in the next season when Bayer gets poached. If even then, he wins a title or is somewhat close to winning a triplet (so something like 2nd place, finalist in the German Cup and CL semis) I would be happy to see him at Santiago Bernabeu, this time, as a coach.
Crucial move to come out so early with his decision to try and keep the core of that team together. If they stay together they could make a very serious challenge for the UCL much less another bundesliga title.
💯% right to stay and learn your craft. Why are people trying to push him to a (bigger club) the same people would be saying the job is too big for him get rid and that's another failed young manager. Whoever takes over a Liverpool or real Madrid are going to struggle.
Wise. Wise decision. He knows how to improve, probably he understands that now the challenge is to learn how to maintain the status. How a leader keeps being one.
Yeah...he's not an idiot. he just won the championship without a single loss, with a great team, all the fans love him....why should he leave and take a job at clubs where it's not even sure who makes decisions on buying/selling players, and where they say one thing to you, but something else out front to the press, lie to themselves and everyone, make people scapegoats...yaddayadda. He wants clarity and a chance to develop with trust. And that trust he has earned 100 times over at Bayer Leverkusen.
I'm glad he stayed and all those annoying journalists got proven wrong. I understand being a professional athlete is often a short career, but the grass is often not always green on the other side, so kudos to Alonso for staying at Leverkusen and doing the right thing.

Alonso class person from a fcb fan, even if he was playing for real madrid. He has always been a gentleman and gets all my respect
best decision
He said I want to end dominance of my former club
I admire his humility and dedication to the craft. He knows he will end up at a big club but he needs to ensure his concepts are sustainable.
Bad decision... The table was set for him to go to Liverpool, now he is going to stay at Bayer until the club start to struggle again. He would want him then?
Some people care about things that aren't just money and fame.
@@extremegrieferbible managing Liverpool isn't about money or fame, it's about Liverpool... He knows that. He called himself a Scouser for life... but that seems to mean nothing.
Don’t worry you’re going to hear a lot more about this great Leverkusen team.
He's made the right decision.
Good on ya, Xabi. All the best for the future. No grudges at all for turning down Liverpool for now.
Agree. If he to change club then he need to change everything all over again. Better stay and see if he can do better next season
Would love to see him in the premier league, but his loyalty and getting experience is better than losing his legendary status at Liverpool, should imagine the Scouse agree! UTV, also will miss Klopp, but thanks for making it difficult for every supporter of the opposition!
Daniel krampah Tim 🤝 xabi Alonso manager xabi Alonso west ham United f.c Everybody happy 2024/25
What a coach. Is People manager but also tactical very good.
Is truth is your first full season
I am leverbool fan
Thank you for your honst
Respect
Level headed, cool, logical. Not a bad start as a manager. Not a bad start at all.
Even if he loses everything next season, what he did today is something like 10 years of collecting trophies … King Xabi ❤
I'm glad that's what he choose to do. Prove to everyone that this is not just a one season wonder 💪 💪
He’s thinking big picture. He’ll get some champions league experience next year, which will prepare him even more for that next step. There’s no rush for him, and the announcement will boost morale for the players going for the double
Alonso as a manager was made in a lab - played under Pep, Jose, Ancelotti and Benitez. Doesn't get better than that.
His team is literally 13 points clear in the bundesliga, why on earth would he need to justify staying?
100% agree. Exactly what I would have done
Talks like a legendary manager.
Best manager leverkusen could have EVER asked for. Absolute unit, hope to see you at United once you’re comfortable leaving germany behind
Legendary manager in the making. 🏆
Everyone loves Xabi ❤
A sensible man right there
Legendary player and legendary coach in Leverkusen
God bless xavi eres grande
It hurts but i gotta respect it
💯% right to stay and learn your craft.
We have the new generation of players. Glad we have a new generation of top manager.
He better in Leverkusen, making move to other club suddenly will odd for him. Improving his skill and commitment for Leverkusen, that's better.
This man turned Bayer Leverkusen into the freaking invincibles. Unbelievable.
Best first season as a coach ever
