Dude. You're a big fan of Resolve but you publish this video that is absolutely COVERED in rendering artefacts?! Fair play for you just going ahead and publishing it anyway...you're a braver man than I!
Shooting in Raw is a game changer. I know some filmmakers rather use Prores because of file size but as a colorist, we want THAT RAW CODEC. We want the beefiest codec so we can push & pull our colors to Infinity if possible.
Regarding the Vlogging Situation: I really like to use the DJI RavenEye as my external "Monitor". You have always a Phone or Pad in your Bag. So its a light and relativly cheap way to have an external screen on the pocket. Not to mention all the other uses it has.
What's with the pink flashing bars in this video? Did you edit this in Premier? Perhaps the red flash of death from the 2005 version has reared its ugly head again.
I would pay $3000 for this exact camera in the Komodo’s form factor. Make the 5” monitor detachable with a 1/4-20” screw hole and put a V-mount plate on the back and it’s perfect.
Agree on the batteries - I’ve bought a number of different brands and I was surprised how they do not perform equivalently. The Blackmagic batteries outperform the cheaper options every time. You get what you pay for applies very much. I have the Tilta cage (I’m all in on Tilta) and focus grip which houses a 560 battery - this gives quiet a few hours of runtime.
Honestly I don't really get the idea of wanting this to become a "box" style camera besides it may look cooler.. you will HAVE to rig it up for handheld, unlike what the 6k pro allows you to basically use it as is. and if you need to rig the camera up for larger shoots, what is the difference between the current style and a box? you would still need to use a cage for both.
A lot of it has to do with gimbal compatibility. Pocket cameras are notorious for not balancing properly on many gimbals due to the awkward size and weight distribution. Box cameras are much better at this. Plus you wouldn’t have to rig up a box. Look at the Komodo. At a side handle and clean monitor on top and you’re done for a basic setup.
@@initialfocus and if I could balance the 6k pro just fine on my little rsc2, I don't see a huge problem😂if people really want to use this camera on the rs3 mini then fine... but then you would need continous autofocus, too. Don't take me wrong, like the other person said, I would LOVE to see a box styled Ursa at some point. but I do feel like a box-style pocket camera is moving in the opposite direction of what BMD is doing with the 6k pro vs 6k.
@@zechenwei1139 I 100% agree. I rather have them stay in the same direction. It’s very unique and you don’t need to rig up external monitor and other accessories. Far as I’m concerned the less cables and extras the better.
EF mount is a severely limiting factor. When I wanted to move up, there was no bmpcc 6k solution. I moved to the Panasonic s1h and, Blackmagic video assist . It's infinitely easier to balance my anamorphic lenses than even the BMPCC 4k. It has an OLP filter and batteries last hours
Yes, my camera of choice for the past year and love it! Exactly the same situation with NDs for me. For me - BRAW and the handling of the camera is the gold. I kinda feel good holding it, when it doesn't look like a small photo camera and with the tilting big bright monitor right on the body. All the wins. The perfect handling especially with the cage where the ssd mount is by default.
Blackmagic need to release a full-frame camera. Tbh, I'll be more than happy if they release one with A7SIII sensor and RF mount with good enough autofocus.
I have the same camera. I like it a lot. Battery situation for me, when I need a lot of power... I use my V mount 150 wH battery with a cable run to the camera. i put the battery on my belt or mount it on the tripod.
AF on Blackmagic is just to quickly set spot focus. It is not continuous and obviously you need an AF lens. So I rarely use that button hah. Decent for setting focus quickly before you start recording
@@initialfocus You might wanna check your gpu.. Mine is dying and whenever I export a video there are random glitches on the screen, sometimes it’s just full of blurry light… but as long as what you have is a software issue it should be fine after reinstalling or updating.

Hi great Video, I am a big fan of Black magic...I had one question About gimbal for it you used the crane 3S for a time and DJI RSC3 pro...is the crane 3S as bad as many people is saying it is?and RSC3 pro is far better?
Crane 3S is no where near a BAD gimbal. It’s just older at this point and doesn’t have all the bells and whistles some of the newer DJI gimbals do. But I will say for heavier/bigger setups there is NO sub $1K gimbal that outdoes the Crane 3S. I loved mine, I just didn’t need the size of it anymore
