    It's pretty cool to see the respect they have for each other, even though they didn't get along at all.

    Connors paved the way. He and Agassi had the best returns of serve in the history of the game. They were also two of the hardest hitters of all time (according to one John McEnroe).

      In the trophy ceremony Sampras told Agassi with a smile to put his trophy on his head. Didnt know they had that nice relationship back then

      Edward
      Fritz can do it but he’s mentality is garbage. Sock is like up and & down in singles and he will penetrate top 10 soon and is good at doubles. The others will never penetrate top 10, the only one was isner but he’s inconsistent.

      OSnowFox Sock was already in the top 10 after his run last year. But he hasn't done anything this year.

      Rice らいす Natto the consistency has increased as well as the overall level of competition

    • @pomerlain8924
      @pomerlain8924 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Charles Fisher The diversity in styles have disappeared as the courts have become homogenized. At big events and GS, more players with different styles had a chance. Now, with courts the way they are now, only baseliners can win. Serve and volleyers, of few that remain, have no chance to win these. And every young player coming up is a baseliner.

    • @NLLeFa
      @NLLeFa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That particular court in the video is not fast at all. So your point is invalid for this one. Slowing down the courts here and there was for good. We needed more consistent top players. Not like in Sampras era where you can lose 1st round at Roland Garros or Wimbledon and it's fine.

    • @charlesfisher3983
      @charlesfisher3983 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, Sampras sucked at RG because he couldn't play with the same consistency as the baseliners that have worked hard on their groundstroke consistency

    • @pomerlain8924
      @pomerlain8924 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NLLeFa ALL courts were slowed down and carpet was removed entirely. Miami and IW always played slow. But other events also played faster. And on an even slower IW court the week before, Pete beat Agassi in straight sets. Pete and every other player in his generation didn't have to deal with all courts playing the same. They differed and they had to adjust their game to it.
      Not like today where, with the exception of 1 or 2 tournaments, all tournaments basically play at the same pace. Players don't need to make adjustments going from RG to Wimbledon they virtually play the same now, instead of being polar opposities prior to 2002.
      Because what's more interesting: Differing court speeds allowing multiple players with different styles to have a chance or similar court speeds where only a few guys with the same style have a chance.
