This DH season is a HUGE opportunity for one of the media companies to do a serious job covering the races. We won't see anything from the runs (except for practice go pros and official coverage) but it's a big chance for someone like Pinkbike to step up and be THE source for all the real pro-looking DH racing walkthroughs, analysis, and content.
Let's hope whomever commits to it the hardest gets noticed by UCI and gets hired to produce the on-the-track stuff in the future. Either way, I'm just glad to have Saint Ben Cathro bringing DH expertise from on high.
The high and wide camera angles are utter shite. We need low and near to give that sense of speed again

the fans get what they deserve. they want free content and cry about the free content. they want riders to get paid but refuse to pay to watch.
why would someone like redbull want to do all the work to provide free content just to get criticized for working hard. this sport isn't worth the effort.

@@brian6speed just sad. Redbull wasn't perfect, who is, but they did an amazing job and for free. Absolutely sucks it got sold on to Discovery. Least it's still free with Tiz lol, but just not the same anymore. We've still got Cierro Abajo, hardline and rampage though!

It’s hard to be excited when the sport is prohibitively gate kept behind a ridiculously high pay wall. I’m in Australia and the broadcast wants to go with a streaming model which is fine but they choose an obscure sports broadcaster that’s requires 2 monthly subscriptions at a total of $27 and for you that get 7 dh races. At least with GCN+ you got other cycling content on the app as well the racing so I could justify the spend. The point of Netflix is it has all the content there’s a reason the other streaming services are starting to licence their material back to Netflix. What a waste of money for the event advertising thinking they’re getting getting eyes on there banners when most have just going to looking for updates on pinkbike and watching after breakdown videos on TH-cam
Plot twist, they change the track because they dont want you to know bikes are not that much faster that a 10 year old bike
Seems like since 2018/2019 bikes have pretty much hit their peak and it's only super small marginal gains.

I’d love to see ghost lines on the big jumps and see hang time/height vs length in the air of the riders as they pop vs scrub etc. this content is great!
