      No problem mate, yea they do seem to suffer with leakage on the pumps on these, have had a few now!

      @@Chris_CDB yeah, I'll keep an eye out now. My old car freelander 06......pump was weeping on that, I bought a repair kit for that but it was a bit of a fiddle, it lasted about 6 months and leaked again so I stuck new pump on. Thanks for the reply, keep knocking skin of ya knuckles, enjoy 😁

    My Fiat has a faint crank, sounds like fuel is not going through. Does it mean that i should replace the pump or might it be the injectors?

    Got A 1.3 panda city cross. Was running rough on idle. Changed fuel filter as filthy. Now struggling to start but it does after few attempts drives fine on higher revs soon as drops less than 1500k nnput foot down a little eml comes on fuel pressure sensor. This sound like fuel pump issues

      To be honest it sounds like you have a dodgy injector(s) with high back leakage. Might be worth getting them tested.

    Thanks for the video , what about bleeding it ?

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bleeding the pump is done via turning the ignition switch a few times to allow the low pressure pump
      To fill the system

      hi I'm just waiting for my new pump do I have to release a bleed nipple on the rail when priming after fitting to release the air?

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No you don’t, the above comment explains how to bleed. It will force the air out via the ignition being cycled.

    Hi there
    Do I have to set timing before removing the HP pump or any other settings?
    Thanks

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No you don’t have to, just set the shaft in the same position as you pull the old one out so it engages in the cam.

  • @savaspar
    @savaspar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    We did exactly the same thing but the engine doesn’t start now (it was starting with the old pump). Anything that we miss?? Is there any detail that you didn’t show? Like line depressurization or anything??

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @savaspar switch the ignition on a few times, allow the low pressure pump to pump fuel back to the high pressure pump, have you definitely plugged in the regulator valve on the side of the pump.

      @@Chris_CDB This is crazy, we took off the pump again and we checked everything, all the seals are in place, the connector you mention is in place too. The engine just doesn't want to start... Did you encounter any similar problem? The car was working before we take the pump off... Is there any trick with that black thing on the side that has to get into the engine's hole? It's many days that we can't find the problem.. We didn't replace or change/cleaned anything else than the high pressure pump. Any ideas?

    Nice video bud I have this same engine on my wife’s Fiat 500L and it’s been leaking diesel very very slightly from around the pump I’ve just not wanted to part with the cash to fix it until it gets worse lol I was thinking it was actually coming from the suction control valve oring how much was the pump if you don’t mind cheers

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of them can leak through the valve itself into the plug, this one had 2 leaks, one from the body and one from the valve internals. May be worth changing the control valve 1st to see what gives?, pump can range really depending on where you buy from. You will probably be looking at around 3-400 for the pump itself for a recon unit.

      @@Chris_CDB you’re bang on I’ll change the scv first as Ito be a hell allot cheaper that’s still not too bad for a pump though even if I have to change that cheers mate keep up the good work you’re a credit to this trade

    Did the engine oil level of this car rise whilst having this problem?

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your engine oil is rising (without adding oil of course), you will have a bad injector that is leaking fuel from the nozzle (dripping after the van/car is shut off), which will make the oil level rise as the diesel will run down past the rings into the sump. You will need to get the injectors tested.

    I got a 1.3 corsa d with the same engine, just had a ecu clone but the only trouble is it keeps blowing a fuse and it has a low fuel rail pressure, not sure if it was this, any advice would be awesome, cheers.

    • @Chris_CDB
      @Chris_CDB  ปีที่แล้ว

      What fuse is it blowing? You will need to see what’s on that particular circuit and unplug things and see if the fuse stops blowing, if not then you will need to find an obvious wiring fault/short circuit in the loom somewhere.
