  • a nicely put together amateur film, showing Brighton in the 60s some attractions are still there, others lost in the mists of time.

I love these videos. I've lived in Brighton my entire life, and even though a lot has changed, much hasn't. It's quite nice to see after most people complaining about how bad it is now. The beachfront is still great. The laines are still great. The Pavillion hasn't changed much at all. There are still hippies and musicians on the walkways. The vibe is very much still there.

You are most welcome, sad to say most coastal towns have deteriorated over the years

A lot of this reminds me of how Brighton still was in the eighties. I think change really started in the nineties and then with City status of Brighton and Hove from 2000 onwards. It’s still a great place and more character has been retained than lost over the years.

I'd disagree. People still dress up. It may be as zebras (yes, you read that right) but they still go all in 😂

The Brighton l knew and loved as a young lad in the '60's . Now sadly gone to be replaced by a dirty , neglected and rundown city that it is now in 2024 .

I would say otherwise. Sure, it's changed a lot in some ways, but in others, it's barely any different.

It went with cheap flights, package holidays and more disposable income in the 1970s. By the 80s it was a zombie town. Acid house was the best thing that happened.
