This film is delightful, l was a child in the 60's and this makes you long for those days of uncomplicated, innocent life with traditional family values. My Grandparents were elderly when l was little, but l wish l was older and knew them better before they passed away. I do miss this way if life.....❤
I remember making movies of our family life like this. Such sweet innocence, long before we all became performers through our mobile phones. How precious are such memories? Laughing and crying here at the nostalgia of it all.
Me too I could shed buckets We never knew what we really had till we see the world we now live in . I truly miss those days of family members long gone I’m 62 now
I was 5 when this was made,i,m 68 now ,my grand parents and parents are all gone now, this reminded me off growing up in Scotland ,papa had the same cap as this gentleman ,beautiful, yard for the kids to play in,many fond memories of days long gone bye, till we meet again, thanks for posting this.
What a generation we were so lucky our grandparents adored and spoiled us having survived WW1 AND WW2 they were determined we would have safer warmer healthier Happier life than any previous generation with NHS for Health Innoculations against the nightmare illnesses of the past, cleaner air damp free and safer clea er healthier homes, Education Sport and Leisure. What a fantastic generation they were after two wars they were Steely in Their determination that their beloved grandchildren would have a better chance. God Bless Them !!!
I'm 66 and was lucky enough to have grandparents who lived at the seaside. Blissful memories of running up to the attic on arrival for our fortnight holiday, to get our buckets, spades, books and toys which had been stored there since the previous summer. But grandparents were far less hands on than they are now. They were only in their early seventies - just a few years older than i am now - but we children had to be quiet and not "tire them" especially when granny had her daily afternoon nap.
There were so many questions I wish I’d have asked my grand parents, but it never occurred to me when I was young to actually do it….I don’t really think I fully appreciated my parents and grandparents until I had my own children. Then, I felt as if I understood.
Thats all I remember as a child playing in the Garden lots of rose beds and Christmas morning, I remember these days thankfully, I only have my very elderly Mum now all the rest have gone and Mum cant remember these happy times because her memory has gone, it makes me sad because Mum made my childhood happy and safe, now I am having to keep her safe..
And it didn’t do them any harm. Now they have to deal with subjects that they don’t need to know about from questionable sources far too early in life. What a sad world we live in now.
This is roughly about my age in the 60s, about 6 years old, from then until now, 2024, has gone in a blink of the eye, even my parents are gone now, my oldest brother has gone, my children are grown up and have children who are not young, yet i remember my grandparents, and my life in the 60s as it was today, how the world has changed
Look at England we were supposed to improve the country ,look NOW what’s happened to it . I was 5 when this was taken I feel sad in what I go out to each morning visiting my town in Hastings.
Victorians and Gen X co-existing for a while ☺ A bit of nostalgia is lovely but corruption was rife then also, things that disgust us now were happening then, and life was hard for many in the UK.
People are the same today. Try to surround yourself with more people that you feel close to if you feel negative about our World now. It is primarily for you to make more efforts to choose additional people to be close to and visit.
I'm 66 and i still look back at the sixties and spending quality time with my grandparents as treasured memories..you never forget .

This brought back memories of my own childhood, in the early 1960's, visiting gran and grandpa at their house with the garden. Poignant.
My god what have we lost.
@@Conjurer54 everything.
We’ve lost God and all that he should mean to us all 🙏
Can get it back. Ignore all around and lean into what you are.
We have lost everything that mattered
@@PaulineFarrell-rl2eu What a brilliant thought, lets start today.
I loved going to visit my granny and grand father with my dad on Sundays in the late fifties, may God rest their souls.
Growing up without any real fears.
I have a film of us four girls in our nan's garden 1967 ..I'm 4 years old and mum and dad appear at the end . Happy days and sad to watch too now.

These young children would be in their 60s now. It would be nice if they were to discover there is film of them on YT.
1 was 8 years old in 1961
While we were busy growing up we didn't notice our parents growing old.
Very true.
Heart touching comment😢
Just beautiful. Happy days😢

Same I wish I had asked my parents and grandparents so many things.
What a beautiful reminder ❤
The grandmother really loved her grandkids and she took this very seriously she got dressed up in her best clothes
Lovely film. Lovely times.❤
Such pride in simplicity

How wonderful. I hope they had good lives, happy and safe.
Happy day of my childhood
Coloured photography was unusual then, let alone coloured home movies. Nice to see.
Very beautiful to watch❤
Beautiful
A time when neighbour looked out for each other, today you're nosey, no good morning, how are you smh sad, those were happy times
Lovely. What can I say? Nappy days! ❤😂. God bless you all.
I'm 67, a grandparent, where has the time gone? treasure your memories folks.
Oh Good Lord, how wonderful our country once was. Nevermore.
Very nice...I loke the music
And they didn't stick kids in front of the telly on game console 😮❤
When small children spent time at home with their mother and were not dragged off to nursery and 'school' at a silly age.
And it didn’t do them any harm. Now they have to deal with subjects that they don’t need to know about from questionable sources far too early in life. What a sad world we live in now.
