Yes, the droids didn't exactly kill half the Jedi Order, but they killed a lot during the First Battle of Geonosis, and could have killed Mace, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padmé. They could have even defeated the Republic

It's obviously the Ewoks hands down. Their strategic fighting locations in the forest counter attacks enemy vehicle and their size provides a tactical advantage making them hard targets to hit. They are also experts in the field of battle so don't anyone tell me otherwise.

It's a valid point. The Ewoks are disliked on the thinking that they were teddy bears for the kids to like; however, that also are meant to convey that looks can be decieving. Credit for credit the cheapest victory in Star Wars lore.
I think they deserve an honorable mention. They fight the most prepared battle in all of star wars probably preparing for over a year. They were patient and turned an ambush into a delaying action that used their enemie's over aggressiveness to their advantage.
They didn't show their hand until an opportunity presented itself and they employed redundancies not knowing which of their bushcrafted techniques would be effective.
They had a society that could coordinate engineering projects and religious zealotry that strengthened the resolve of their forces. The completion of their preparations coincided with the arrival of a perceived deity, validating their plans. Ewoks weren't limited by ethical rhetoric and if they took prisoners is was just to keep their food supply fresh.

As much as I admire the discipline of the Imperial Army there’s something to be said about the... bond... between the Jedi and their clone soldiers. It’s a shame the clones were forced to turn on their leaders.

It's the epitome of a tragic shame, Grand Admiral. Though the Jedi could do with some military tactics and training, which would have both lessened the need to constantly replace your men (Every respectable commander's best dream: walk away with victory, and the smallest casualties) *_and_* taught the Jedi to not just rely solely on the Force or their lightsabers, which in of itself would have made the Order an absolute *_terror_* to even see one on the battlefield.
It also would have made the bond between Jedi and Clone much deeper. Hell, there's enough rumor of Jedi-Clone love, that had the Jedi not decided to encourage zealot-like devotion to the Order by forbidding love, they would've had greater Public Relations and Order 66 would've been seen in a worse light in the Republic and would've stayed around longer.
If the Republic and the CIS had combined their forces and logistics, I would and could give a valid theory that they would stand toe-to-toe with the Imperial Army in a very wide variety of engagements.

Well, not long ago everyone who wanted to make a Star Wars comic/novel/game wanted to create a new trooper type, without taking into account if it was really necessary or if it was already done
I think overall the empire is cooler than the rebels and the clones are better than droids.
Imma give it to the CIS honestly. Practically infinite units with practically unlimited adaptability due to a production capacity that's almost cheating. Clones and Jedi alike wondered why they hadn't lost when you think about it, they're so outnumbered that it shouldn't matter they can't beat it. They won because Sidious sabotaged the CIS from the start, they were never meant to win and even Dooku himself was only a pawn.

I have a bias towards the droids, but I like this list a lot, it makes some sense when looking at it in terms of how the armies were composed rather than the actual outcomes in the war. The rebels were the worst army (basically insurgents) even though they ultimately won (barring those Disney sequels of course.....ugh). And to me it felt like in Episode three the Separatists were actually putting up a good fight, thinning out the republics forces and even (though unsuccessfully kidnapping their chancellor). If Palpatine wasn't running both sides of what was essentially a fake war, and just turning the droids off, I almost think that the Separatists could have at the very least caused a compromise and cease fire.
I mean thinking about it, the B1 battle droid while essentially weak could provide a force of cheap and yet massive and effective "meat" (metal?) shields that would occupy the main force while the stronger units and vehicles could then be used strategically to win the battle. The battle droids would be covering for any real strategies. Even if you notice the B2 battle droids or the giant Mechanized Abominations coming at your flanks, you'd have to keep in mind the millions of annoying B1 battle droids that are constantly shooting at you. A clone would be forced to attack the more important target while under constant cover from the front.
Now if only Disney would buy the Terminator franchise (I'm joking that would be terrible) and make a new droid army of T1000s.

If this were a question of best army including economics and politics, the Separatist Droid army comes first place.
The fact that the Republic almost went bankrupt during the first year of the clone wars speaks for itself. The only reason they didn't go bankrupt was because of Sidious.
Not only that but the Droid army was the biggest to ever exist, having billions of droids. And if Sidious wasn't in control they would've had quintillions as stated in legends.
But putting that aside, I couldn't agree more with the list on this video. As the clones were far superior to droids and any other army in starwars.
In an even match number wise of clones vs B-1 Droids clones would win 100%, probably having 1 casualty at max.
In all honesty I think my favorite Army is the Droid army and the Clone, I just find them more interesting that the rebellion and the Empire

True. The funny thing is, if you consider what we see in films and comics, the rebellions troops were generally better than all the other factions. They were more committed, braver, and more determined due to them truly believing in what they were fighting for. They were simply outnumbered, out equipped, and used for a completely different role than the other armies.
Just look at the battles we see them in. Hoth, they were not fighting to win, they were fighting to stall as long as possible. For that, they did a pretty good job considering the vast opposition they were up against. On Endor, it was a small assault team that was used to infiltrate. They were up against a legion of the 501st. If it had not been a trap, the rebels would have won without the aid of the Ewoks. So troop to troop, the rebellion has it, but in terms of organization, size and power, they simply cannot compare.
catmani2 See theres a difference between organization/power and the will to fight and honor. Those are two different things so yes the Rebellion was out of the question.

The rebels don't usaully get training. They get experience from actual battles and if they die in it well they are dead. You are trying to say there morale is better which wasn't really apart of the question. So you sir just wasted time making a counter arguement for the wrong question. Also if it was based on morale the Republic would still beat them

Most mass produced infantry weapons sucked for accuracy. Like a cheap paintball gun, the rounds once fired, did their own thing. This was established in Star Wars video games, like BF2(2005) until Disney took over.
Arctic Fl Clones were also super expensive and bankrupted the republic “muh best army” they were inefficient when they died by droids 1/100 their value.
Star Wars is uniquely meta in that it literally acknowledges that it implements plot armour and a deus ex machina and makes it an integral part of the universe. That's what the force is, a pretty BS plot device that we just suspend disbelief for.

Well even without the Jedi the Republic army is still very effective. Just look at how they slaughtered the Jedi. None of the other factions could have done that. At least not as easily as the republic army did.
They mainly succeded due to the trust the Jedi had placed in their soldiers, they had surprise on their side. That's why Palpatine used them, because that is the only way to destroy hundreds of practiced force users with laser swords XD

This one is a tougher, closer one than I think you gave it credit for, and I honestly think this is worth a re-look. The CIS may not have the worst infantry, as an army they are without question. They have the best communication lines, superior numbers to any opponent, and by the end of the war were capable of advancing themselves on such a level that they were actually starting to win. I would say that the Republic has the best infantry, not the best army.
Empire: plastic armor

Well, CIS was destroyed and don't exist anymore so I wouln't vote on them.
Actually, the stormtroopers armor was plastoid, which could spread out the energy of blaster bolts, so most of the troopers you see get shot actually survived and were unconscious.
I still say the rebellion is better because they had THICC plot armor lol

The Empire was geared more as an occupational force than an offensive army, which is a pretty big design vulnerability.
I imagine its difficult when to control a galatic system. its similar to empires in the past where it was difficult to have control when theres a sea or in the empires case outer space. therefore fear is a better tactic than actual focus on effectiveness. although I do agree with you as many machines were terribly designed
I think you failed to mention some weaknesses of the republic army, for example, placing jedi with no command experience or training in commanding roles instead of utilizing them as a special forces unit, which I think would have been more suitable.
Thoughtful Insanity Yeh but that was the point of the Commander of that Battalion. Most Jedi are humble and would take any advice from their Commanders if they themselves had little to know battle experience. I mean Anakin didn't always used to be a tactical genius but in time he developed his skill. So yes that is a weakness but a temporary one.
In the beginning the jedi were very inexperience in combat. However as the war went on, many became competent and skilled leaders. Many even listened to their clone commanders and admirals. For Example: Obi-Wan with the 212th, Anakin with the 501st, Plo Koon with wolfpack squadron, etc. Many jedi cared for their men. Not gonna lie, there were some issues with certain decisions, for example the 1st and 2nd battle of geonosis. Every army both has its competent and incompetent leaders. The empire no exception.

I will admit the At-At was certainly more situational than other tanks, I still feel the Empire had the strongest army. They had the numbers like the confederacy and the training similar to that of a clone (though not from birth). Most of the technology was also improved including gunships, bombers, and light armor like the At-St which could be easily modified for different uses.

Did Palpatine build the Empire to stop the Yuuzhan Vong?
Officially, not a chance, as all that came after the fact. However, knowing the kind of person Palpatine was, I can guarantee he was always looking forward, moving forward, he was no fool. I'm sure he sensed something, or had forward bases trying to map and extend his rule into the Unknown Regions and had some info on this potential threat. So I can accept this theory as extremely probable, however his first goal was definitely to take control and stabilize what the Republic had controlled already, then extend that to what was known of the galaxy, then the rest of the galaxy itself, then upon sensing/uncovering the threat, to unite the galaxy against it. Palpatine's rule was cruel at times, and very strict, but it was in no way unbearable for most, as after the rise of the New Republic, many longed for the stability that the Empire had. And as was proven, the New Republic was in no way or in any shape to deal with the Yuuzhan Vong.
EckhartsLadder I would argue that the separatist had the best ground army. The b1 droids the cheapest to produce were used as effective cannon fodder while the b2, droidikeas, tanks, etc. did damage an act as shock troops. The b1 droids were also a lot cheaper. Even the oom upgraded b1 were cheaper than clones and other biological soldiers. The most expensive part of fielding a army is not the equipment which you pay once for and can gather in large quantities it is the troops themselves that are the most expensive because they need to be trained to use the gun, the tank, the jet, etc. An provide them and maintain a place of recruitment and training. Who cares if you lose a few dozen b1 droids they are programmed machines an easily replaceable but losing a few dozen clones to the b1s or the better droids using them as shields? That is loads more expensive.
Even if the CIS went with the more expensive quality over quantity droids like the commandos and mangma guards they would still be cheaper than running a biological based army and those droids would easily pay for themselves in combat by taking out multiply clones. If a b1 droid killed a clone they easily paid themselves at least twice over if not three times over because clones needed to be trained/taught and needed to grow. The clones are expensive both in the short and long term.

Just gonna let you know I paused the video at 0:19 and subbed. When I heard Resonance by home and then saw my favorite two franchises as the main focus of the channel, you had me. Impressive intro you got there.
I think that’s partly why i always liked the clone wars more, it’s just more practical and “realistic” in the Star Wars world of things in my opinion

First Order is the Empire but with less recources and with Space Nazis

Or because we don’t really know anything about them yet, the Resistance is certainly better equipped and more organized than the Rebels, while the First Order has a way smaller army but more advanced than the Empire

While I agree that the First Order is simply the Empire, I disagree that the Resistance is anywhere near comparable. The resistance was far better in combat and actually have a headquarters. I'm confident that the resistance would place higher then the Empire and the Rebel alliance.

EckhartsLadder: Not sure of your opinion on the Rebellion, because by the time of Return of the Jedi, the Rebellion was just as powerful as the militia from Titanfall 2, as seen in Battlefront 2, they successfully defend Naboo and took lots of prisoners. 🤔

The Republic s clearly the superior force as it closely mimics modern-day military structures. Plus they have Rex, so they also win on awesome points.
But the seperatists would have won in the end, and often also won plenty of battles as much as we don't get to see that but it is mentioned.
Republic was also the only faction we saw with atmospheric air support. Most factions used star fighters in atmosphere for fire support, but the Republic had gunship/troop transport units.
This is why I love the Clone Wars. It’s not a “Huge force against an underdog, it’s two heavyweights in a desperate fight”
Based on playing battlefront 2 for the PS2, the super battle droid takes the cake. Best troop hands down.

The clones had shock and surprise factor. If a person you consider a friend and trust suddenly stabs you in the back that does not make them a superior fighter. Also as for droids look at the Arena battle in Episode 2, the droids are just as good in slaughtering jedi.

Fun Fact: The early models of the AT-AT actually served in the Republic during the Clone Wars. Most prominently when they were used during the Battle of Jabiim alongside AT-TEs and AT-XTs. Which makes sense since Jabiim’s rough environment made repulsor lift type vehicles almost completely useless.

Also it makes no sense why the droids didn't share they're knowledge / experience with that type of knowledge a driod would have the experience of army per unit... probably more due to a lore reason why they don't and why they are dumb even though advance civilisation that can build moon sized super weapon... Also why is thier biological slavery living organisms cost more and, do less work than a "slave" robot... it makes no sense... in general robots are way under used and makes no sense why... like in the original series makes sense but the prequels it doesn't...

In the canon comics, there exists SCAR Squad. (Special Commando Advanced Recon) otherwise known as Task Force 99. IMO I liked them better than Inferno, because each member was unique. (The Inferno Squad book is superb tho)
I believe they also had shadow troopers in rebels at one point until rogue one came out anyways and they switched to the death troopers

The CIS Fleet at Coruscant vs The Covenant Fleet at High Charity.
One of the few battles that the CIS would actually lose to the covies, that place was super-defended.
The fleet at High Charity is unbeatable for any star wars fleet. I love the CIS but they would be fucked up badly

Thor's Hammer Hundreds if not thousands of ships were guarding High Charity during the events of Halo 2. Most of them have bigger firepower than most of the CIS ships and their shields can handle even Magnetic Acceleration Cannon shots (1-2 shots at least). The CIS have better fighters and interceptors but their capital ships are lower in quality IMO.

I would say both their Fleets are pretty even if you ask me.
Am I the only one who'd love to see a movie/series featuring the CIS without the enemy's plot armor? They overall had the most specialised army with the widest variety of tools. All their vehicles and units had a unique design that made perfect use for a specific purpose. All this for probably the cheapest army in the galaxy.
The only thing bad about clones is that their training takes 20 years to finish

The droid armies would not at all struggle against enemy vehicle attacks in a battle.
Hail-fire droids are especially useful for these, and most other situations. Whilst somewhat lacking in armour and missile capacity, the ability to independently target and fire homing missiles at separate targets whilst at high speed and from long distance make it a very useful weapon. A single rocket is capable of toppling all enemy air and ground vehicles, and a chin mounted heavy repeater allows it to mow down infantry. A small group could easily obliterate most vehicular threats.
I don't think hailfire droids were very common after the battle of Geonosis

The Cis should have invested more in their Hailfire droids. They are the perfect anti tank force, especially against the Republics blaster resistant walkers.

If the Alliance could've massed produced these vehicles then I believe they could've been right up there with the Republics Forces.
But there supplys were limited and didn't have much funding
British Empire it would be cool if they would start producing droides and the droids vehicles that could have been so sick maybe they could have found a old droid prudoction if that would have happen they wold actually have a chance in battle
the T4-Bs were uncontested KINGS of the battlefield, whenever the Empire didn't have AT-AT's. they absolutely out-classed and out-gunned other tanks.
the Canderous Assault Tank absolutely obliterated everything else, though. including AT-AT's. the Rebellion didn't really have much access to those though.

The Clones were easily the best. They were better than the Droids (beat them in the CW), and were superior to the new generations of Stormtroopers. Rebels wouldn't stand a chance against a force like the Clones.

They only won because the game was rigged. It is stated that by the end of the war that the CIS is out producing the Republic. It isn't certain who would have won but the clones were definitely given a run for their money.
In Clone Wars it only really showed seperatists victories for the sake of a better story. What is ignored is that for every clone victory seperatists also had a victory and would have won in the end. The droids were a scary infinite force that they could produce way faster than a clone could be replaced.

And sooner or later the republic would have had to deal with all the droid factories.
Not to mention clones were massively expensive to create and maintain.

you see I would see how the army would best serve as a win all situation
first are the droid army, easy to transport, only need's small repair's, cost less than an organic soldier, and has mass production as a huge advantage in number's to overwhelm the other faction's.
next is the clone army, literally born and bred to fight, these guys are the best, and without order 66 they would be perfect in an army.
the empire, despite the downgrade of the clone army, and personally thought they should be last, they do have an order of powerful vehicle's and have troop training, the only thing having them ahead of the rebel's
and last is the rebel's, they had no real training o organization but still had resorses that were better then the empoire winning the war, but need better resorces and stability

I know where my allegiances are. While playing Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, I was in the RGF clan. They later disbanded and got consumed by the IGF clan. Much later, during JO/JA, RGF came back as a sort of mock internal competitor in the overall group. I miss the days of roleplaying starwars.

CIS is underestimated in this video in my opinion. The CIS could have a near infinite army if they had the resources, and just a little more armor and development on the B1 and the clones would have an even match, same goes for vehicles.
