I don't think enough folks appreciate how groundbreaking his music was. He was always outside the norm, leading the way. In my opinion, he is genius on the level of any member of the Beatles. His album "Graceland" was brilliant in its innovation and artistry.

For decades I have pondered if Simon and McCartney would very probably been even better than the two real-life pairings.
      Yes, better, I believe!

Yes! Graceland is a perfect album, beginning to end. Remember it very well from when it came out, still have it on vinyl, is a great memory of listening to it with my dad so many times. There's just so much lyrical and rhythmic genius dumped into that album. And who can forget Paul Simon and Chevy Chase acting like fools in the video for You Can Call Me Al 🤣

This song makes this oldish woman feel like dancing 💃🏾 lucky to have seen him live, on the Graceland tour and a couple of years ago in Manchester England. A very hot day in July and this song hit home like never before.

Great song! With two beautiful daughters, Jay, you both should listen to Father and Daughter by Paul Simon. It was written for and featured in a children’s movie The Wild Thornberrys. It’s been my daughter’s and my song since she was little and I got to dance with her to it at her wedding a few years ago!

Reminiscing to early 1980s. I played the sax in my high school band. We played this song for our regional competition. Loved this song. Great memories!

I believe his solo career catalog is probably much bigger that that of Simon and Garfunkel. His is so creative with the music and lyrics.

I saw Paul at the NEC Arena Birmingham in the UK many years ago. There was this diminutive figure fronting this small Orchestra. He had the ability of talking to the audience whilst naturally navigating into his next song flawlessly! ❤

Simon & Garfunkel was a folk duo from the 60s. By the time they split up, folk was near-death. Paul didn't give up on folk, or music from around the world, but he figured out a new sound for the current rock era. Just another aspect of his genius.

This is the deepest of dives you could get into. The man is a creative genius. I saw him on tour with Bob Dylan in '99. That was one hell of a show!

Paul Simon has always been one of my favorite singers. His album "Graceland" is incredible. Next you need to do "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" as well as my personal favorite of his, "Kodachrome." If I looked back at all the crap I learned in high school... Awesome! Love you guys!

Great combo - Richard Tee (keyboard, vocals), Eric Gale (guitar), Steve Gadd (drum virtuoso), tight, tight horn section and Paul Simon (guitar, vocals). Many of these musicians were in the group called Stuff.

The Entire album is probably one of my favorite Paul Simon solo albums. Brilliant and this was part of a movie soundtrack. Album is - One Trick Pony - which is the same name as the film.
I saw Paul live in concert three times and this is one song he's constantly tweaking.

Paul Simon is one of the best musicians of the twentieth century. Right up there with Dylan, Lightfoot, Gershwin, Lennon and McCartney and a few others.(one of my favourites)
Check out more of his solo catalog from his first albums through 'GraceLand' to his latest. All the best to you both for '24.

Next give a listen to the Paul Simon / Phoebe Snow duet, Gone At Last. I think it’s my favorite of Paul’s post-Garfunkel songs and Phoebe shows of her incredible range.
