That's a common misconception na kakaunti ang trabaho sa arts. Marami ng trabaho for artists like us hindi lang talaga tayo exposed. You can do your own research para malaman mo kung saang art field/industry ka nababagay. At the end of the day if you're really passionate and committed for the Arts I say go for it!
ok, i might be the black sheep of our family to people's eyes, but not to my parents, and that's what all matters to me. my two siblings are stem students, and are aspiring med students. i used to think that id choose stem as my strand in shs, then pursue biology in college, and continue my degree in medical school as well. but it turns out ive just been deceiving myself, and using reverse psychology on myself, because the more i pushed myself to this character that the society expects me to be, the more i realized that I just didnt belong here. so, i thought maybe id still choose stem, and major math in college, and get a phd degree with it, coz ive always love and been passionate with math! it's something that i can learn and do forever without getting stressed and tired about. but what stopped me are the career options. sure, i can study math in college, and even am willing to get a phd degree with it, but i don't want to end up in the academia field such as researcher, mathematician and teacher/professor. i realized that i just wanted to pursue math in college because it's simply my favorite subject, and i could see myself learning it forever without losing my sanity, but i don't have a particular plan on how I would use this degree to contribute in the economy. so i figured maybe im not really meant to be like my family members, and my siblings; maybe pursuing stem would only leave me nothing but regrets as i don't think id even pursue a stem-related degree in uni. now, with arts, i wouldn't say im bad at drawing and painting, and i used to think i wanted to major fine arts, and many people have also complimented not only due to my logical side but also for my "outstanding creativity" as they said. and i really want to either pursue literature, or maybe visual arts/graphic design/fashion/fine arts or get a music degree as a violinist, since i play the violin .. and ive always dreamt about performing in an orchestra when i was starting as a young aspiring violinist years ago. if only I could major dance specifically in ballet, i'd choose this too! :D but sadly, i think im too old to start in ballet to at least get the experience, and be qualified enough to the field but that's alright. I've made up my mind, im getting into art and design strand. idc anymore if people from my past gets surprised about the sudden shift in my career path, im doing this for myself, and im going to be successful for myself. although here in ph there's still a LOT of taboos circulating around arts major in college, and they're mostly the narcissistic, and egoistical students from the holy trinity strand(iykyk) i srsly don't give a damn anymore. ik so many people who thought stem was for them too and ended up in arts and even became happier, and left no regrets at all! i want to study something that i would not only enjoy, but also get me banks, and live a comfortable life!
wow, this inspired me po😭 At first I have 2 options, STEM and Arts and Design (AAD) if I take STEM I either pursue in the medical field specifically in animals, I should consider my health because I often get sick and have a weak immune system. But still hesitating in AAD if it's the same in like more exhausting activities..But I'm sure also that I want to be an artist or have a job involving arts where I'm interested at the same time..with an animal related job where I'm always intrigued and interested in also.
how are you doing now? :) i also had to move to another school this year (but for another reason) & it sucks cuz i've also been (the school i left) there for 9 years 😭 i honestly dont wanna move but i had to, i was sad at first bc all the great memories i made was there but last year many of my familiar classmates (the ones that had been there with me since i was younger) moved too and that honestly made me feel so empty even though i wasn't really talking to some of them, they made my life bright for the last few years but now its time to head to a new start :) but anyway, moving into a new environment is scary, but lets trust in ourselves and we can do this! we can get through this and reach our dreams 💗

at first i was into film making, but i don't know how i lost my interest on it, so i went to music production digitally via softwares like fl studio, but it felt very overwhelming, wala rin ako masyadong knowledge sa mga instruments. i then went to 3d modeling and digital art, medyo overwhelming ren, pero i find it easier than music production and filmmaking. you also don't need expensive equipments. i know all three of these has something to do with arts and design, and that's why i'm here, i feel like this is my passion and this is where i belong. i might have little-to-no knowledge of what i'm doing right now, but i know i'm enjoying it and it could potentially help me in the future if i get enough practice and experience.

i've loved art since i was a kid, and i also like film making and photography so my number one choice is really arts and design so i can move onto fine arts in collage. I'm in a dilemma where I am having second thoughts about taking STEM in shs. Actually, I have this plan already which is I'm going to take STEM then will take architecture degree in college. But these past, I'm in a state of confusion, it's like I'm torn between taking Architecture or Fine Arts Degree in College. This, I've been wanting to be an Architect ever since I was, like, 12 yrs old, but I've come to this conclusion where maybe the reason why my mind desires to be an Architect, is that it's the closest thing to taking something in college that still involves art. In fact, I really love doing art stuffs that no matter how much practice I do over and over about doing drawing, painting, and taking photography, it never made me exhausted, not even for once. But I must admit it, I have a passion over doing arts, yet, I know for myself, I am not good enough. And for that reason.. maybe, maybe taking fine arts is what I actually desire of. Here's the other thing, I've told, back then, most of my family members that I'll pursue Architecture in college, and now, I'm afraid to tell what my heart really wants and I'm afraid that I'll be the cause of their disappointment.
I SAY GO FOR IT, maraming Job Opportunities in Taking Fine Arts, you can try Interior Design if you still want to pursue something similar to Architecture. Pwede ka naman pumili ng department kapag may mga play or performance like pwede ka sa props and costumes. Pero siyempre depende pa rin yun sa gusto ng prof niyo

Pero kagaya ng "normal" ng trabaho kailangan mo siyempre magsikap at ilang connections. Actually pwede na nga tayo kumita kahit students pa lang. As long as gusto mo talaga and you're decided na to pursue it as a career then why not right? *sorry medyo mahaba haha!
Hello ask ko lang po what if nag arts and design track po ako makakatulong po kaya ito pag dating sa entrance exam for architecture? I'm still confused some say if you want to develop your mathematical skill magproceed daw sa STEM same with AD kung gustong mas mahubog po ang drawing skill. Target ko sana sa college ay UST. Pero i prefer the AD track though hindi ako ganun kagaling sa math na required ata pag architecture?. Dahil mas trip ko pang mas mahubog yung drawing skills ko dahil sa architecture ay more on plates. Pero naguguluhan pa rin po ako sabi po nila if I want to pursue mag arki. Sa UST mas pineprefer nila ay STEM students. Kaya medyo undecided ako between STEM and AD.

Ahhhh my school doesn’t offer Arts and Design Track so I’ll have to move schools to take it, which sucks cause I’ve been there my whole life TwT
This was my situation as well. Take it as a challenge to grow. I know it'll be hard at first but it will be worth it!

i've loved art since i was a kid, and i also like film making and photography so my number one choice is really arts and design so i can move onto fine arts in collage. The problem is that I'm not good nor confident about music, theatre plays, performances. dances, singing, or anything that requires me to perform. is it really required to have these subjects to be taken by the students? because i'm really just taking arts and design to have some experiences before taking fine arts LOL

I'm in a dilemma where I am having second thoughts about taking STEM in shs. Actually, I have this plan already which is I'm going to take STEM then will take architecture degree in college. But these past, I'm in a state of confusion, it's like I'm torn between taking Architecture or Fine Arts Degree in College. This, I've been wanting to be an Architect ever since I was, like, 12 yrs old, but I've come to this conclusion where maybe the reason why my mind desires to be an Architect, is that it's the closest thing to taking something in college that still involves art. In fact, I really love doing art stuffs that no matter how much practice I do over and over about doing drawing, painting, and taking photography, it never made me exhausted, not even for once. But I must admit it, I have a passion over doing arts, yet, I know for myself, I am not good enough. And for that reason.. maybe, maybe taking fine arts is what I actually desire of. Here's the other thing, I've told, back then, most of my family members that I'll pursue Architecture in college, and now, I'm afraid to tell what my heart really wants and I'm afraid that I'll be the cause of their disappointment.

I SAY GO FOR IT, maraming Job Opportunities in Taking Fine Arts, you can try Interior Design if you still want to pursue something similar to Architecture. A family member is an Interior Designer and she graduated with a Fine arts degree. I say go for what your heart desires and you'll never regret it!! ❤
Gusto ko mag Arts and Design track kasi passion ko talaga ang drawing and painting, kaso di nga na develop kasi di supportive pamilya ko noon... Up until now. Sabi nga sa akin kaya nga ittake yung arts and design track para matuto eh, pero laking insecurity ko talaga yung art skills ko. ICT - Animation yes pero afaik theres no specific strand that specializes in Graphic Design. So choose ICT Animation OR arts and Design Track

arts and design is more on traditional kse, kokoonti nagooffer ng Digital Arts/ICT - animation. Afaik STI offers Digital Arts under Techvoc. It really depends on which you prefer choosing. ICT - Animation for digital and Arts and Design for Traditional

@@Moonlight-dg3zm try and try until you succeed, what i do this time is to practice how to paint, use oil pastel and also drawing, it can help you improve your skills! try downloading different tutorials in youtube, it is really helpful. I am incoming grade 11 student and im doing my best to catch up to other people who are talented hehe. I know you can do it, dont doubt yourself because you can learn it, trust me future interior designer! :)

Hey there! Lumang konsepto na ang "starving artist". Marami ng paraan para kumita ang mga artist ngayon either employed or freelance. Pero kagaya ng "normal" ng trabaho kailangan mo siyempre magsikap at ilang connections. Actually pwede na nga tayo kumita kahit students pa lang. As long as gusto mo talaga and you're decided na to pursue it as a career then why not right? *sorry medyo mahaba haha!

Hello ask ko lang po what if nag arts and design track po ako makakatulong po kaya ito pag dating sa entrance exam for architecture? I'm still confused some say if you want to develop your mathematical skill magproceed daw sa STEM same with AD kung gustong mas mahubog po ang drawing skill. Target ko sana sa college ay UST. Pero i prefer the AD track though hindi ako ganun kagaling sa math na required ata pag architecture?. Dahil mas trip ko pang mas mahubog yung drawing skills ko dahil sa architecture ay more on plates. Pero naguguluhan pa rin po ako sabi po nila if I want to pursue mag arki. Sa UST mas pineprefer nila ay STEM students. Kaya medyo undecided ako between STEM and AD.
Hii! May mas advantage talaga STEM sa math and science which is part ng USTET. May drawing test din ang USTET so helpful if mag Arts and Design ka. Yung real advantage kasi ng pagtake ng arts and design eh kapag arki student ka na kasi yun nga maraming plates. Trust your gut na lang, kung ano talaga gusto mo. Review well for the entrance exam na lang din
