Being a long time fan of Meat Loaf, Ronnie James Dio, iron maiden, and other hard rock singers with great voices, it’s a special treat to see someone of your talent and training react to them. Coming in late, but I've been rewatching your reactions (thank you! I love your positivity and excitement over music!) and your joy at hearing Rasputin in the Home Free Sea Shanty Medley made me want to ask you to react to Annapantsu and Chloe Breez's cover of...well, of Rasputin (on Annapantsu's channel). After this opening scene to the movie The Pick of Destiny is when he meets Kyle, really fresh of the bus they meet.

Ronnie James Dio turned up to the session to record this with his own mic, but the engineers already had everything set up and didn't want to change it, they did a trial run, which he nailed but blew out the mic. RJD just calmly said, "Yeah, that's why I bring my own", swapped it out, and did his part in one take.
Meat Loaf is an amazing actor and singer, and Jack had said in an interview that if he ever did a movie that called for it, he wanted Meat Loaf to play the part of his father. Meat Loaf's daughters saw the interview and nagged him into taking the part.
And that is Jack Black singing throughout - from child to adult! It is the opening scenes from the Movie "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny".
All three singers are legends, so to have them all in one section of the movie is amazing.

The kid 'JB' at the beginning is Troy Gentile. He's still acting in stuff today...usually plays a wild, goofball character like this.

This Video is LITERALLY the beginning of the Movie, "TENACIOUS D and the Pick of Destiny". I love the movie. And you were wondering what a CULT STATUS was. Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv show, everybody knows of it. Even if they didn't watch it. They knew about it. AC/DC Popularity. Those 2 things have a CULT STATUS. Just Like Tenacious D. LMAO!!! What I love most about the "kid"s song is, it really SOUNDS like the sort of thing an "edgy" young teen/preteen would write for a rock song, lots of cursing and dragons and whatnot.

This one and the Dio video were the first time you showed up in my feed in a while. Great reactions to great songs.
Fun fact: When Dio showed up to record his part, he was told to give it a go on the equipment they had set up, but with his powerful pipes, he blasted that poor mic to death. Fortunately, he always brought his own equipment that could withstand him.

Gotta check out Wonderboy - Tenacious D. By far my most favorite song. Heard it as a child and still makes me laugh.
This song is basically Tenacious D's version of a The Who song, from their movie/musical 'Tommy'. Can't remember the name of the song, but heard it quite a few times, since my dad's favorite band, since his youth, is The Who.
Also just noticed looking back at this video, there is a The Who poster in young JB's room 😂
Rumor has it that the kids room had a Meatloaf poster on the wall and as he started tearing them down, Meatloaf came to his poster and started to laugh and wouldn't tear it down.

Supposedly Dio showed up with a special mic, which they didn't use. Dio's voice damaged their equipment and once they told him he said that's why he brought his own mic.

Hey Maggie! I love watching your reactions. I think it would be amazing to have you react to Zimmers Hole (When you were shouting at the devil), or Alcatrazz (Lost in Hollywood). No one has ever reacted to Zimmers Hole even though they are an insane super band and one of my all time favorites. They are a joke band though so be warned. Alcatrazz also has been known to have the best Guitarist to ever exist known as Yngwie Malmsteen who would go on to create beautiful masterpieces of his own.

Personally however I think more about the similarities with the video for Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It which came before. It was also my favorite song when I was like 3-4 in 1984. People always talk about Meatloaf being in this movie, who is a God in his own right and yes, he HAS been in everything lol. Watch Rocky Horror Picture Show if you haven't. Dio, absolutely stealing the show as always. But the kid did such a great job lip-syncing the song and acting everything out. Stellar performances from everyone though.
