Maybe it is about time to put both a lower and an upper age limit for political positions. Then outlaw PAC's. outlaw corporate donations to campaigns.... and put a much lower cap on private campaign donations. Let the IRS and FBI do a deep dive on anyone who wants to run for federal elected positions - with regular follow ups while they are in office.

    Respectful Greetings!
    To: DW News.
    Question: What is an oligarchy?
In short, an oligarchy is an elite few who control the government’s actions.
An oligarchy is a form of governance where power is held by a small group of people. These individuals often come from elite segments of society, such as wealthy families, military leaders, or political figures, and they control the government and decision-making processes. The term comes from the Greek words "oligos," meaning few, and "arkhein," meaning to rule.
Oligarchies can be seen in various forms throughout history and in contemporary societies. The main characteristic of an oligarchy is that political power is concentrated in the hands of a limited number of people, rather than being distributed more widely among the population.
Question: What are the term’s origins?
Like many words in politics, oligarchy originates from Ancient Greek and quite literally means that few command. But unlike an aristocracy, an oligarchy is more closely tied to wealth than nobility and family lineage.
The philosopher Aristotle wrote in his book “Politics” that “democracy is safer and more free from civil strife than oligarchy; for in oligarchies two kinds of strife spring up, faction between different members of the oligarchy and also faction between the oligarchs and the people.”
    Courteously!

9 years ago, the internet landscape was markedly different. Platforms like TikTok, which launched in 2016, didn't really exist, and artificial intelligence hadn't reached its current level of sophistication. At that time, ML was in use, but LLMs weren't a thing. Thus, there was less awareness of the potential risks associated with these things, and significant political events involving digital interference had yet to occur.
As a result, many of the regulations in place across the globe, to protect actual freedoms were not in place.
While it's true that Mr. Joe's actions may not have met everyone's expectations, we're operating in a vastly different environment than we were nine years ago. Therefore, our responses and strategies should reflect the current context... Not 9 years' ago. Let's talk differently.

The American dream is an illusion for the majority and a nightmare for a large minority. Just like the lottery, it's intended to keep the vain hope of a better life alive for the majority, and to protect the wealth of the super rich. The masses won't complain about the income of the wealthy while there is a faint hope of joining their number. It's almost feudal in nature. What kind of questions is that, about oligarchs being all, all bad? The problem is not whether they are good or bad, it is the concentration of power. You can compare them with autocrats, or even the old monarchies, if the dictator is a nice guy you’ll have a good government, often even better than a democrat one, basically because the dictator doesn’t have boundaries, or to go through all the “dance is democracy “ to convince the opposition and so on, but regardless the occasional good, unchecked power is always bad.
