I left my Casio G-Shock GD- x6900 3420 On my porch for 365 days to prove a point to a buddy of mine about the durability. And hence all the rolex models have oyster written on them now which means waterproof now in Rolex's terminology I guess you may be confused by the dive watch which is debatable. My new Rolex GMT (box + literature) cost £130, obviously genuine, it was manufactured in Marmaris, Turkey. The shop said if I bought 50 he would charge £110 each. He reckons Marmaris manufactures all Rolex watches worldwide and they're "dead-on".
I was bashing G-shock and telling people I wouldn't want to be found dead wearing a damn G-shock and now a week later I own a G-shock GBD 800!😂 I finally found a reasons why a G-shock is better during some activities than my dress watches.😅 I still think that G-shocks have 0 class though😂 But I do woodcarving and I noticed the wood dust was making tiny scratches in the metal casing of my dress watches at close inspection and that's when I went insane and lost some pride and class and ordered a G-shock!😅

Thing about vintage vs modern Rolex: Most of the people who take the opinion of that guy’s video don’t own many if any vintage Rolex. I love my 1675 GMT. It’s my favourite watch, it’s the watch my dad left me. It’s in *immaculate* condition. A safe queen. Even with that it’s still fragile AF compared to modern watches. It’s thin and light, the metal can pit and erode, the bracelet is hollow and will stretch, the plexiglass will scratch for just looking at it and the movement is waaaay less robust. There are days where it would be stupid to wear it, when a 6 digit GMT would be fine
I'd rather have any vintage Rolex over any brand new model except the 100 year running of the Le Mans that white gold and the 24 hour bezel topped off with just enough Red ❤

The watches are registered so if you sell it elsewhere Rolex will know about it. If you gift it then I doubt the person you gifted it to will run it through a watch registry. If you lose it, then you should be going via Rolex to see if it comes back up on the black market.

It's an odd request though. Makes you wonder what watch they were buying when apparently they'd already been allocated the most sought after.

@@nessagirl1911 yup, My AD told me after a year I can do what i want with it. In reality, though I don't think they'd care about you wearing it in store. The watches are registered so if you sell it elsewhere Rolex will know about it. If you gift it then I doubt the person you gifted it to will run it through a watch registry. If you lose it, then you should be going via Rolex to see if it comes back up on the black market.

I disagree with you about sapphire case, when the sapphire is a monobloc colored masterpiece like on the RM-056s for example its actually really gorgeous, but indeed very costly and more fragile than Rolex’s 904L stainless steel. It’s all about personal taste…
