The adds have way too much health that you pretty much HAVE to hope for a zerg strat. If they want this rot nonsense to stick around then they need to gut the add health so you can realistically cleave them down in time and never have 2 up.
The issue with relying on the zerg strat is that it completely stops working once you get to a certain key level. Even in just this 10 it was close because you had multiple adds up. This same group in a 12 or whatever is never killing the boss period since you just get farmed by the add damage and never being able to kill them.
Exactly this is what we were discussing with our team. Maybe you can manage this on 9-10s, but damn even for Tettles it was almost a wipe with an Aug. In our group our healer did an amazing job and we barely killed it with full defs. But what if you go to 10++? This ain't work unless as you said Blizz actually nerfs the add HP (so we can cleave it down passively) or further nerfs the dot dmg. I was doing PTR keys (12-13s) but it honestly didn't feel this bad. Did they buff dungeons just before season start?
the only problem imo is the hps requirement 100% and theres no reason for it to be there. in shadowlands u could have out two and it was just crazy not impossible.
The only issue with the 2 adds up was tank damage. Now, it's just insane rot damage going out.

I finished the fight on a +3 with 1m hps as a resto shaman. It’ll make ya work when that 2nd add comes out.

Mate, even with 10 weapons thrown at the guy, people still don't have enough damage to kill the boss in like 2 down-phases in a 5. Let alone are they able to get the hook on the guy in the down-phase. Let alone do they have the mental awareness to put the 3rd hook on the guy to get him down immediately again.
And even if all of that *miraculously* works out, you'll still have your healer probably tap out at like 30 seconds into the fight because the fight requires 3 times the HPS anything else at the same level does.
And if you fail at any one step with that boss, your run is over. Because without weapons he's just quite literally impossible. Without Lust he's impossible. With more than like 1.5 down-phases he's just impossible. Why in the ever loving fuck this boss was not completely reworked during the beta is absolutely beyond me. This dungeon is absolutely infuriating because you have exactly 1 shot at making it- and that seems to already be the case with pugs in fucking +5s because that's just how crazy unforgivable this stupid fight with the insanely ludicrous perma scaling abom damage is.

Here's being described what "the best way to do it is" but it is not the safest way. Sure, you can claim "they are 120% wrong!" and then most of the WoW community will take it for fact, but if your coordination/damage/spears are not top notch, taking an extra round on this boss is safer, and therefore better for you group. So depending on the situation, the guy you describe as being completely wrong, is right under the right circumstances.
Not with the current health value. Boss barely has more than twice an abomination’s hp. If you can’t drop the boss below 50% with spear, you don’t have the dps to kill it (because that means you don’t have the dps to kill adds faster than they spawn) and if you do, then it’s better to focus boss as it requires the same amount of damage (at worst) and end the fight way quicker.
Spears and lust not being there was NOT suicide in shadowlands lol rot dmg has been outrageous in this xpac so far. This dungeon was kinda fun before this season, now it sucks.

Tettles almost died in a 5 man premade with 615ilvl overall. Imagine pugs with 610 ilvl doing it. Ain't no way

It was the hardest to time because it was bugged. I encountered 3 different bugs on it that I have never seen in Shadowlands. Not sure how they managed to bug an existing boss this much.
acid rain don't work up there randomly now
I failed a 7 because the hook just didn't go off 3 times
the hook seems to still be bugged, last night it hooked the dk's pet and if you miss a hook on this fight it's almost always a wipe
We personally save the shields for stitchflesh. 50% dmg reduction on there goes a long way towards making that boss a lot (like a hell of a lot) easier to heal. As long as the adds are properly managed on the 2nd boss, it's not too bad a fight to heal.
mostly the healing is kinda ridiculous i hit 1.29mil hps which was higher than any of the dps did. if the healing wasnt so much it wouldnt feel like a rush like it does now and u could actually play the boss like we did in shadowlands.
Yeah also sweat hard and smash every single button with 3 spears and lust isnt a good strat to "easily" kill the boss... it also means if somebody screws up your key is bricked if that's seriously the strat.

And to add to this you can also get fixated so you have to run away whilst pumping heals out
Here's what you do: get 3 spears and 2 shields. Throw spears at boss, all cds + nuke when he comes down first. Next wave, kill the abom and cleave boss unless the boss HP is lower than the abom. Use shield for overlap if there is another abom up for a bit. That's the survival lower dps way to do the boss.
If boss HP isn’t lower than the second abom, you straigth up don’t have the dps to kill the second abom in time and you’ll wipe anyway.
False. If you can't kill the boss after that first nuke, you can more easily kill the abom and play for survival. 2 aboms can kill you with low dps easily @Senen33

If the boss has less hp than the abom, killing the boss is easier. If the boss has more hp than the abom, you straight up don’t have the dps to kill the abom.
Your reasoning would be true IF the abom had less hp than they currently have. But as it stands, killing the aboms is not a sensible strat unless exceptional circumstances. (Like, if a dps was dead through the whole first boss phase, but got a rez for the second one, so the boss is higher than he should be despite you having enough dps. But tbh even in that case, burn is probably the correct play.)
@Senen33 yes, you do have the dps. If the boss has a lot more hp than the abom then you will likely not kill the boss, but you are on a strict time limit to kill the boss if you focus it as you can't survive 2 aboms for long. Killing the aboms allows you to defeat the boss with lower dps eg if the key is higher and challenging by cleaving. At some point you will not have the dps to delete the boss in 2 aboms/hooks. What then? Boss is still killable if you kill the abom and reduce crisis period of 2 aboms up
@@sandcat731 If you dont’ have the dps to delete the boss in 2 aboms, you don’t have the dps to kill aboms. Once again, abom have close to 50% of the boss hp. If you’re not able to pour that much dps in the boss, you’re also not able to pour that much dps into the add.
Really, your vision of the fight would work if the had, say, 25% of boss hp. But they don’t, they have 44% of boss hp. So killing them is not easier than killing the boss in two phases. It cannot be.

Shit needs to be re tuned. The entire key shouldn't depend on external damage buffs like the spears. If you don't have spears for this you just accept the brick. Feels terrible.
If ur gonna make a vid like this i recomend showing positions of the weapons, who picks what and when to use them (assuming u dont have 5 spears, can u?)

The dungeon feels so bad in general after they buffed the trash count. Timer should have just been shorter instead of having to kill almost everything

I agree that the adds rot dmg was too high but I read so many complains everywhere. Guys..it's first week and most people seem to expect to heal 10+ and more with not even heroic gear to directly jump to mythic. It's possible but that's a challenge then.
i dont get whats going on here honestly,timed a +10 first day and it didnt feel this bad,maybe cuz we used a disc?maybe our dmg was just that much better...and a paladin in grp,felt ''easy'',other dungeons were much harder than this one,dont see how this one is considered the hardest

I think they were. Just telling people "zerg boss" is never enough. DPS think it's not their responsibility to watch out for anything. They kill the abom too early for example and then they're like "but I can't stop my dps". Or they even pop CDs on the first abom.
What I'm hoping is that some happen to watch this video and they hear someone else telling them the tank cannot tank 2 aboms for the entire fight, they'll try to actually do what they have to?
@@Crisalpha Everyone always blames the healer, yet DPS job is very important. Didn't prio down the right mob? Now they get an extra cast of their dangerous AoE ability. Doing crappy damage, boss lived forever and we ran out of cooldowns to live and died. Didn't zerg down Stitchflesh? We're DEAD!
